Tasty vegan ramen - Edit
I enjoyed the tasty ramen and gyoza at Ramen Katamuki although after a full day of walking around the beautiful sites of Kyoto (>20k steps), the large ramen was not substantial enough for dinner.

great - Edit
Very good ramen (I had the creamy one), freshly made and delicious! The large portion was very large and not expensive at all. The cafe itself is a bit dark but I had a cozy spot by the window.

Great ramen - Edit
The vegan ramen was incredible here. The soy milk base was thick and creamy, almost like gravy. Lots of flavor here and a fun environment.

The best ramen I’ve had in Japan so far!
Read moreGot the creamy vegan one which is more like a carbonara. Huge portion for the standard size, lots of noodles in there!
Also got the veggie gyoza.
They have seating upstairs also. I was glad to score the little nook seat.

Damn good ramen - Edit
Went here twice so I could try both of the ramen options. Portion size is pretty good if you get the large option, but it’s still expensive, as food in touristy parts of Japan tends to be. Cash only, too.
Read moreThe soy milk brother ramen is definitely the one to get. They’re both good, but the creamy ramen broth is just a step above. I’ve had a fair bit of vegan ramen and it’s gotta be one of my favorites.

Cute place - Edit
Nice little place in a good spot. Two vegan ramen options, gyoza and a few other sides. Lovely staff, very welcoming. Ramen lacked a bit of taste, BUT it was super filling with heaps in it - I ordered a regular size and my husband had to finish it for me. Would go again for sure.

Tantan ramen! - Edit
The tantan ramen was really good. It was deep and rich in flavour. The vegan gyozas were average and I wouldn’t get again. So far on my trip, this has been the best vegan ramen I’ve had. As it’s only one server and kitchen staff, there’s limited service in a way. If you ask, they will definitely help you. You also order via a machine with English as a language option.

Very nice ramen - Edit
Very nice place to eat vegan food in Kyoto. One of the only places I could find that serves both normal food and fake meat in it's plates. I ate vegan ramen with veggie meat and white rice with the same and they were wonderful. Unfortunately the vegan gyoza were ultimated! Watch out it closes at 20 so it can be really problematic to eat.

Really recommend this place for ramen - Edit
I went here solo as soon as they opened bang on time at 11.30. You order at the machine and it's all in English and it's obvious which two dishes are vegan. I had the soy sauce one but if I was staying in Kyoto longer I would have come back to try the other one. Really really tasty ramen (that's the only thing on the menu). The woman who served me was so lovely. I say in this little window seat which was gorgeous. It explains how they make their ramen in English and I loved it. Big portion as well.

One if the best ramens I have had in Japan! The soy sauce based is more like regular ramen, the milk based one is rich and creamy and delicious! Big portions as well so definitely worth the money. The lady who makes it is super nice and friendly, really cares about the guests having a good experience!😄Very much recommended

Best ramen to date! - Edit
This is a wonderful place a short distance from Main Street Kyoto! Two types of vegan ramen which they also made as a summer special- cold ramen. I can’t tell you how great this cold ramen was, exquisite and with loads of little bits of soy meats and vegetables (which is missing otherwise in Japan).

Best ramen - Edit
We went to katamuki with 2 friends who are not vegan. We didn't expect too much but all 4 of us ended up loving this place. Me and my boyfriend got the vegan soy based ramen and gyoza and they were amazing, the best ramen and gyoza we've had, ever . The tomato was super tasty 😋 the staff were also super nice. I want to rate it 5/5.
