More About Me

Reasons why I prefer to eat vegetarian or vegan:

Being healthy, trim and fit is very important to me. I started following a whole foods plant based diet, first after stumbling on Durianrider video's on YouTube in 2010. Before that I was vegetarian. I love the foods and the effects it has on my body. Eating this way has also effected how I feel towards animals. I have become very compassionate towards them and despise the way they are treated in the meat and dairy industry.

I joined HappyCow Members Community because:

To share my experiences with eating at Vegan restaurants.

Here are some places I've been that I liked... and places that I would like to visit one day:

Paris Berlin Amsterdam Barcelona Hong Kong Sydney Cairns New York Los Angeles Johannesburg Gaborone Lusaka

Some of my favorite veg*n foods include:

Durian, Mangosteen, Champagne Mango's, Passion Fruit, Young coconut, Vegan Burrito's, Guacamole, Lentil soup, Falafel, Baba Ganoush, Black Beans an Rice, Jordan vegan cuisine, Indian Vegan Cuisine, Thai Vegan Cuisine (I hate greasy foods, so it must all be prepared relatively low fat)

Here are some books, movies, magazines, and my favorites that I would recommend to other HappyCow members:

- The starch solution - Prevent and reverse heart disease - Eat to Live - Neal Barnard’s Program for Reversing Diabetes - The Blue Zone's - The China Study
