Must have been a bad day to go!?

Everybody seems to love it here but we sadly did not enjoy our food at all. I had 5 different warm dishes and only one was tasty (chickpea curry). The others tasted really weird and not good at all.
I love their concept of healthy and fresh food though. Nothing is fried, no sugar i.e. One full plate was around 12 £.

Fantastic food, quiet location, great service

One dish better than the next, all allergenics are written out or separately offered, 7 different gluten free vegan cakes, vegan wine, great place to eat all day. Just opposite the m&m shop

Pros: Purely vegan, Gluten free , Buffet style

Vegan food that makes you feel gooood!

This is a great antidote to all the vegan junk food places popping up in London at the moment. All the dishes are beautiful, home-made and delicious. Stews, curries, salads, smoothies and good looking desserts. Will have to come back one evening for the live music!

Pros: All vegan and gluten-free

Cons: Hidden away underground

fantastic food

Really lovely quirky place to have the most amazing vegan food. Everything is home made, the quality of the food is first class and really good value for money in the middle of London.

This place needs your support so get there quickly!

Best meal out I’ve had for ages.

Paradise in a slice

We loved it here, such friendly staff and very chilled out atmosphere. The plates are weighed and it worked out about £10 a plate (with a state of every dish), the food was so clean, healthy and filling. My partner said it’s his new favourite restaurant

😀 heaven!

In a vegan wasteland (w1) this is an oasis. The most delicious, healthy food served by lovely people!! Excellent value too - cheapest plate by weight in LONDON.
Raw, no refined sugar, no oil.
Highly recommend the desserts too.

Pros: Central, Choice, Desserts

Peaceful place

Peaceful place in the middle of buzzing hell, very close to Cinatown & Piccadilly Circus. Raw cakes, cooked food out of pots. No garlic, yes!!! Smoothies, wine, friendly staff.

Pros: No garlic, peaceful, most centrally located

Delicious and Nutritious

Lovely Sunday afternoon vibe with a couple playing guitars and singing... the food was colourful and tasty and we were spoilt for choice which is rare. The buffet is a good option as you can try so many of the dishes and then you just weigh and pay... the puddings were a delight thank you

Pros: choice, taste

Friendly and good value for money

Very friendly staff at this all vegan buffet with an eclectic mix of mostly Asian foods. I would recommend going for the more simple-looking dishes. The desserts were a highlight, especially the chocolate ganache.

UNREAL!

I was looking for somewhere different to eat with my partner that had really fresh whole foods but we’re still really tasty so when I found this place AND it was a buffet I was so excited! And it lived up to my expectations. Me and my partner were so impressed with everything. The food the wine the staff and the vibe was perfect, and it was amazing value for money. Really cool place just to hang out or have a feast. Can’t wait to go back :D

Tasty healthy food

Good value pay by weight buffet. Tasty raw and steamed dishes - really nice to have somewhere that focuses on healthier options. A good selection of raw nut based cakes too (I love the blueberry one, so glad that is still on the menu). And lots of drinks to choose from including made to order juices.
Today was my first visit to their new premises. What an amazing location right near Leicester Square / Piccadilly Circus!

Pros: Central location, Tasty healthy food (no junk food here), Good value buffet

Cons: Basement premises

Vantra Loungevity. Superb.

Superb.

I cannot recommend Vantra highly enough. Situated on Wardour Street, right in the heart of the West End, moments away from Leicester Square, Piccadilly Circus, and China Town.

Wonderful, tasty, inventive food. Extremely delicious, and healthy smoothies too.

One recommendation - the entrance needs some thought. The signs outside are too cluttered, and it is very easy to miss.

Overall though, outstanding.

Best food Ever in a ward friendly environment

I have been wasting vegan for a while now and been eating a fairly limited variety of recipes. I was visiting London to go to the theatre and came across this restaurant on happy cow and I am so glad I did. The food is amazing, fresh and delicious, the juices, smoothies and teas are also amazing. To top it off the staff are so friendly and helpful. I can not wait until my next visit, I am coming here once a months at least.

Excellent food and service

Vantra has been bouncing around the west end of London these last few years. Finding affordable venues in that area must be a nightmare! They have just landed in a basement at the lower end of Wardour Street on the China Town side of Shaftesbury Avenue. Although there is not much of an entrance (and some rather inaccessible stairs) the space below is much roomier than their last venue in Oxford St. Their food is the epitome of healthy, lots of steamed and fermented veg and an incredible range of super tasty interesting textures and flavours the like of which, in my experience, are unique to Vantra. Lots of mushroom dishes :)!
Then there are the cakes! These are in short supply because they are so good. We waited for the chef to make some specially for us and it was well worth it. We shared two chocolate almond based raw cakes one of which was orange flavoured and stands out as one of the best desserts I have enjoyed since Heathers almost two decades ago.
The service is always friendly and helpful, Elis was the star waitress of the day for us.
Vantra may have lost its Oxford St enticing window display but make sure you don't lose out by not checking out their new premises.
They still use the self service buffet system with the price depending on the weight of your choice. A largish plate of food will set you back about £12.50

Super tasty

We were so hungry after theatre and were happy to discover this place still opened and with such a wide choice of the buffet. Food was tasty and seemed not greasy at all, which sometimes can be a problem with buffets. Vantra was great. I will be back to check out their coffee and desserts menu!

Great Vegan Food, Centrally Located at Reasonable Prices

We recently had a lunch and a dinner at Vantra Loungevity at their new location at 5 Wardour Street in London. Very convenient location within easy walking distance of theaters and museums. The buffet offers lots of delicious choices and is a great value. We especially liked the lentils, chili and asparagus/broccoli and the vegan cheesecake. They also have a wide selection of smoothies, juices etc. Very friendly and informal atmosphere. Highly recommended.

Pros: Excellent food, Good Value, Friendly Staff

Healthiest Vegan Buffet Ever. Pay by weight Buffet

Great selection of green, grains & currys, probiotics & kimchis. Raw Cakes are a must. We’ve never felt this light after a Buffet. 5 mins walk from Picadilly Circus. Both the owners, husband & wife are true examples of what veganism is truly about. They are kind, compassionate & so helpful. This is the Best ‘pay by weight’ Vegan Buffet Ever. £1.80 per 100grams.

Pros: Healthy Vegan, Kind Owners, Raw Cakes

Cons: Card Machine was not working

New location at 5 Wardour Street

Almost went to the old location, but it's now just opposite the W hotel at basement level on Wardour street.
The buffet offers many different options and there is a wide sauce/spice/oil selection too. It's buffet style, but you pay per weight. A concept I'm personally not very keen on. The takeout boxes seem better value for money, although our (full) plates came to 10-12 GBP, which is reasonable for the type of ingredients and central location.
The star of our meal was the lemon coconut cheesecake. There was a long list of hot drinks available too, which I'll have to try another time.
The owner was really friendly and very knowledgeable about food. I heard he's been a vegan for something like 28 years or so.
There was plenty of room and I think they are looking to host music events etc, so could be very interesting. I just wish they still had the á la carte option too.

Pros: Central location, Plenty of space, Wide selection of food and drinks

Cons: Accessibility - at basement level, Cash only

So impressed with this place. Popped in for a takeaway, selection was amazing. £7.50 for a large bowl which I think is very reasonable for central London. Was so tasty.
Also the card machine was down and I had no cash, the owner just said pay next time. What a gent.
Will 100% be back and will spread the word. Thank u

Simply amazing!

Review I left on their FB...thought Happycow family should know too:

Didn't get the chance to check out Vantra in its previous location, but went to the new spot today and it is awesome! I enjoyed an awesome feast of fresh, raw, probiotic foods from the buffet. The selection was great and along with the raw sauces on offer including fermented chilli, ginger oil and fermented soybean paste, it made for one of the most flavourful meals I've ever had! Was a pleasure to speak to the owner, who shared some of his wealth of knowledge on probiotic foods and their benefits, as well as different tastes and why it's important to eat foods satisfying all of these.
I paid £7 for my plate of food and it was more than filling. Not sure why other reviews suggest otherwise, but I found it very reasonably priced. The smoothie and juice I had were delicious too and I'm really looking forward to trying more from their extensive menu.
Not often you can say you feel great after eating at a buffet, but today I felt in better health than when I went in. Can't wait to return!

Pros: Delicious nutritious food!, Amazing vibe, Juice/smoothie/tea selection

Cons: Why weren't there more people here?!

healthy and tasty

This place shows that healthy can be tasty too! Probably the best vegan place in London. Previous location on Oxford St was maybe a better spot, but that one although in a basement, has more space. You can choose from over dozen of raw and cooked dishes plus several sauces. They have some attractive looking deserts too, which I haven't tried yet.
