Love their crispy duck dish - Edit
Their vegetarian crispy duck dish is one of their best dishes. My partner and I order it every other week every other week.

Nearest option to Pilgrimage hotel - Edit
It felt very local, no westerners, menu only in Vietnamese and we used Google translate to communicate. Got soup type noodles with tofu and mushrooms for 20,000. No booze. Got given free iced tea. I just needed a light bite and was staying at Pilgrimage. Worked well.

Food is amazing - Edit
Yes, the portions are smaller (except the steamed rice 1 portion is enough fo 2) but that just means you can try more of the delicious dishes. We went there 3 times already and everything we had was sooo good. Best food we had so far after beeing 3 weeks in vietnam.

It’s okay - Edit
Tried this place only because it’s the only thing nearby offering vegan food. Quite expensive and small portions. Pancake was very oily.

Tasty vegan food in peaceful setting (near a busy street) - Edit
Recent review. As tourism is opening up i was the only person there and had to call into the dark interior. Friendly and thoughtful service then kicked off. The dishes i had - a vege rice combo with a side of miso soup and tea and a warm fig salad - were both excellent (couldn't taste any fig). 80k dong total. Ask for the vietnamese menu with prices in dong (I think they have one). Frequented by monks.

Great food but count your change! - Edit
This is the only restaurant in this area of Hue that I returned to. I had about 5 different dishes in my two visits and they were all amazing. But, just because it's a Buddhist veggie restaurant doesn't mean you should trust them blindly! More on that later.
Read moreA few tips:
First, don't take your shoes off, I'm not sure why there are so many shoes outside, but you can wear your shoes inside and the floor is dirty anyway.
Second, skip the English menu. Grab the original menu before they try to give you the English menu. The translations don't always correlate to the food. Instead, you can type the Vietnamese names into google images to get some idea. The English menu is also priced in USD so you don't know what the actual prices are and that smells of a rip-off.
Third, as is standard in Vietnam double check your change immediately. One of the staff tried the old "give a 10,000 instead of a 100,000" trick on me and then immediately darted out of the room and vanished from the premises leaving the rest of the staff to deal with the aftermath. While he never returned the other workers eventually rectified the situation.

Across the road from Pilgrimage Village! - Edit
Amazing food and delightfully friendly service! The staff speak some English and the menu is in English also. I ordered the tofu in tomato sauce and morning glory (a Vietnamese staple, some kind of spinach) to takeout. Both were delicious: super clean and healthy.
Read moreI was staying at the rather expensive, but truly lovely Pilgrimage Village across the road. So easy to pop across for food and there’s a convenience store two doors down for cheap water and beer, and even a cheap massage place too!

Great vegetarian restaurant a little way out of the centre. - Edit
My favourite restaurant in Hue. Outside the town. Been several times and never disappointed. Today cold so the spicy & sour Thai hotpot really hit the spot. Not much English spoken but have a translated menu.

Good but small portions - Edit
I came here because the other vegan place was closed. They serve a variety of vegan dishes, but there were two menus, one in English with us Dollar, one in Vietnamese with dong prices, and the staff couldn't speak English so it made it pretty difficult to order. The portions are small, as in most vegan restaurants in the area. The food was okay, not amazing. I had tofu in tomato sauce 1nd lemon grass with noodles, the mushroom Claypot is really tasty, but everything is really small for around 50k, which is around 2$, might not sound like much but it's actually a bit pricey for the size. Convenient if you're in the area and the other one is closed.

Best Veggie Place - Edit
right across the street from Pilgrimage Village, we came here three nights in one week, trying different dishes and loving every one of them. Favourites have to be figs in claypot and the huge and super tasty hot pot with mushrooms. Excellent value for money! Menu in English, fast and efficient service. And free tea :)
