Boathouse beach cafe - Edit
Visited the Boathouse Beach cafe (on the private beach attached to Trebah Garden). Good range of locally made vegan ice cream and the dog ice cream is also vegan!

Dreadful, zero care taken in food served - Edit
Ordered vege flan. Served a flan with meat in it, didn't realise till I thought where is all the spinach. They said sorry and refunded me quietly. Left disgusted, not eaten meat in 6 years before this.

Very good - Edit
Several options for brunch and lunch, and a selection of vegan cake and ice cream. Come here a lot and always nice. The staff are friendly, and I always order a special brunch with my safe foods and they’re so accommodating.

Long queues - Edit
On a relatively wet Feb the queue took 10 mins to order coffee only to discover no own cup discount & 55p extra for plant milks (£3.80 for a regular coffee). Also no gluten free options.

Pros: There are vegan/vegetarian options, Beach, Trees

Painfully slow - Edit
First you have to queue, for what seems like an age. You wonder why it's taking so long, and then you realise that the old ditherers at the front of the queue had just lined up for twenty minutes, but hadn't actually bothered to read the menu during their wait, so take even longer to decide. Then, when you've finally made it to the front of the queue yourself, you have to wait even longer for the food to arrive.
Read moreWhen it does, it's not bad at all (another quinoa supersalad, in my case). But a beer or two would have helped with all the waiting around.

Nice enough - Edit
Cakes are very nice. Service was good even though it was busy when we visited. Shame there isn’t more vegan options in a place that seems to talk about sustainability a lot. Hopefully more will come in the future.

Lots of vegan options - Edit
I only had a chocolate muffin and a coffee and I'd recommend both. There were lots of vegan options on the menu and their daily changing soup is always vegan.

Not bad - Edit
Two main choices for lunch - a vegan burger or soup of the day, which was curried vegetable (you have to specify you'd like the vegan option - today it had sour cream)
Read moreNot convinced it was vegan, and left the spread that was in a pot on the side for the bread. Would've loved a sandwich or salad!

Pleasantly Surprised - Edit
I was here for the day and was very pleased when going to the cafe and seeing the vegan options. There were hot & cold offerings with varying prices. I had a yummy avocado, broccoli and quinoa salad as well as a bowl of chips. The food was very good.
Read moreThe cafe is big and bright with outdoor seating and an area for dogs.
Unfortunately the menu they have listed online is out of date.
Pros: Lots of food options, Nice eating environment

Lovely location and garden, good food - Edit
I have eaten here many times with relatives. The cafe is nice, open, and modern. It can get busy sometimes, it's informal, family friendly, and has a corner area where dogs are welcome. Also an outdoor eating area. Lovely staff.
Read moreThe food is good, and reasonably priced. There is always a couple of vegetarian and gluten free breakfast, main and side options. And usually one vegan option for breakfast, main and side too. Worth checking the menu for specials. There is always some kind of vegan cake, usually flapjack, but sometimes something more exciting, and always sorbet too. Vegetarians are very well catered for. Could really do with more vegan options though given their ethos on the back of the menu is about being sustainable.
Also its a delightful garden with lots of interesting features including a private beach. Very child and dog friendly.
Because it serves meat the maximum stars I can give is 4. I would like to give it 3.5 really because it is not as good as some other omni places that have multiple vegan options that I have already given 4 stars to.
Definitely recommended from me and my relatives.
Pros: Veggie, gluten-free and vegan options, Good food, Delightul garden
Cons: Can get busy, Wish there were more vegan options
