Birthday Spa Day

We came here for a spa day for my OHs birthday and I was surprised to see they had a vegan option.
I said I was vegan when booking and they asked for dietary requirements but when we went for lunch was given a menu with nothing for me on it. After asking to be moved outside as we had been seated on a table that was essentially falling over by the drinks trolley I finally flagged someone down, explained what package we were on and that it included champagne and a vegan lunch.
The lunch was pretty nice, I wasn't expecting to eat an entire block of tofu before my massage though.. the mousse thing I had for dessert tasted like paint and was inedible.
When it came to paying I had to explain what package we were on again as we were billed wrong and then felt embarrassed as I went to the bar and went through my emails for the proof of what I'd booked.
The whole lunch ordeal was somewhat shambolic and a bit stressful

Pros: Vegan options were good, Spa day was nice

Cons: No communication between spa & restaurant, Had to ask to sit at a clean table, No plant based milk at coffee machine

Not great

Didn’t have the best meal here. Unfortunately the portions were small; the side of bread and spread was one slice of store bought bread cut in half, pre buttered. I thought it would be like a homemade bread basket considering the hotel is so fancy. The chips were nice. The hotel is lovely though and has good facilities.
