100% perfect

Absolute vegan Mecca here in Fort William. Great coffees, cakes, light meals, plus a mini shop for all your vegan groceries, and good books in stock too. Lovely. You should make time for this place.

Wahnsinn!

Pros: Komplett vegan

Cons: Montag & Dienstag geschlossen

Great cafe

Highly recommend cafe/shop.
I Thoroughly enjoyed my scrambled tofu wrap and chi latte. I bought some Assam tea from them so I can make my own chi.

Escape from the rain

Spent a very rainy day in Fort William. Used the Happy Cow app to search for a vegan friendly place for lunch & made our way to The Wildcat. Left our name & no as they were full then got a call about 20 mins later to say they had a table for us. We both opted for the Moroccan pasty special which was delicious comfort food. I had turmeric latte and my partner had coffee which he said was the nicest he’s ever had in a café 👌🏻. After another round of hot drinks, we were too full for anything else but ordered a couple of cakes to take away. Really nice wee cafe & we’ll definitely return when we’re in Fort William again.

Pros: Vegan menu, Reasonable prices, Friendly staff

Delicious

There was a bit of a wait, but we left our name and number for when there was a free table. Definitely worth the wait! Soup and tofu scramble wrap were delicious! The wrap had a bit of a kick to it. Got hot chocolate and chocolate fudge cake to take away, and both were deliciously rich. Such a treat to find an all vegan cafe after a week up in the highlands

Best coffee on the British isles

This is the first place in the whole UK that has met my Australian Coffee-snob partner's standards!

Great atmosphere, fantastic coffee and delicious cake. A must-visit for anyone staying in Fort William

Excellent

Exceptionally good tea and cake- and a huge cake and loads of options for both. It’s a nice space to sit. It was busy so we had a fifteen minute wait for a table at 2pm. Staff were clearly really busy as they were also doing a lot of takeaway. They were clearly struggling a bit to keep on top of everything but were really friendly and doing their best.

A 10/10 breakfast cafe

This gorgeous little cafe is a lifesaver in Fort William when you’re on the hunt for breakfast. I’ve been twice now, a couple of years apart, and it only gets better! The coffee is out of this world, and the food selection is always beautiful. One of my favourites!

Pros: Good food selection, Mind blowing coffee

Decent food

Café with sandwiches and cakes.
We had the 3 sandwich options available and they were all tasty, filling and fresh.
Bread is lovely toasted.
The lemon cake and the chocolate fudge cake were delicious and fresh.
Unfortunately the brownie was disappointing, small, thin slice and pretty plain.

Little Gem

Spent a few days in Fort William and struggled with food options. When this place opened it was like someone had just given me food heaven. Everything is vegan and there is a lovely friendly feel to the place. The staff were brilliant and chatted to us about being vegan and gave us a really good description of their food. We had the breakfast sandwich of seitan, avocad-no and an amazing relish, it was delicious. The coffee is first class, we had a Brazilian blend and I couldn’t wait for the second cup to arrive. They also do some amazing cakes, we picked up one of every kind to have for lunch later and they were so yummy.
To find a place like this in a tourist town was very surprising. If I lived in Fort William it would be my choice every time

Pros: All vegan , Delicious food, Very reasonably priced for the quality

Cons: None

Delicious food and handy shop

I'm a local, and every time I go into the Wildcat there's some new and delicious food to try, all hand made on site. They use quality ingredients, local where possible, and pay their staff a living wage, which explains why visiting here isn't as cheap as the Costa up the high street. There's no question it's worth the cost, though! The shop at the back ain't cheap either, but it's really handy for getting your hands on ingredients that would be otherwise impossible to find in the area. Most of the products are specifically eco-friendly, and they make deliveries by bike instead of by van. If you're plant-based and eco-conscious then this place is perfect for you!

Pros: varied and changing menu, ethical practices, friendly staff

Cons: not cheap, not much seating

2019

I visited here in 2019 on a bicycle tour and I loved their unapologetic extinction rebellion vibe. Right on the high street of a major tourist town too!
Try their home made beans on toast of they still serve it. It's home made and it will completely blow your mind!! (Never go back to the canned stuff!)

Pros: Vegan on the high street!, Staff was willing for me to order off the menu, Free electricity

Cons: Can be busy in tourist season

Great all day breakfast wrap!

Stopped off here for some breakfast in Fort William and the all day breakfast wrap was so tasty. It had tofu scramble, coconut bacon and an avocado alternative that was made from edamame beans!

Pros: Reasonably priced, Tasty, Sustainable

Good enough to warrant a detour

I had an all-day breakfast wrap on first visiting, which was very substantial, with "avoca-no", tofu scramble, beans, and fake cheese. It really was spot on and set me up for the day. I ended up going back later and having the soup of the day: mushroom and fennel. There's also all different cakes, so I had a coffee and walnut cake, which was also substantial, tasted very good, and was moist.

When I went they were serving from a plywood counter at the front door and people were waiting on a nearby set of benches. I think it's a covid measure. The staff also all wore masks and were all polite. It's a shame it shuts so early but everything winds down early around there as far as I can tell.

Pros: Very good food, Accessible

Would give more stars

This place really tries and it shows. It may be preaching to the choir, but the message is clear: the environment is important. The other message is also clear: the food is delicious. And SO MANY BAKED GOODS TO CHOOSE FROM. Would have tried the whole menu if I could’ve.

Worth the wait

We had to wait about 35 minutes for a table on a Thursday afternoon, there is no way to book. That was all fine when the food is so good. We both had the salad bowl which was incredibly filling. Good range of coffees and sandwiches. The carrot cake was delicious and so had some shortbread to take away also.

Pros: Lots to choose from in a great location

Cons: Long wait, they will phone when ready
