Fascinating history & creative food in upscale town

Formerly the Mark Skinner Library for 100 years, the building has been creatively reborn(a few years ago) as an upscale art-filled restaurant. Buckminster Fuller designed the addition in the 1960s! Definitely make a reservation as early as you can. A number of side dishes are vegan, and we ordered the ratatouille with bread & greens and the tower of mofungo. Owners have lived in San Juan and impart the tastes and styles of this city into their cooking, a delight. We took food home, very large portions. I wondered if I would have to dress up, but styles are casual in New England, even at fancier places in cold weather, it seems. Really nice wines by the glass and bottle. Friendly service from Keller. The owners invited us to look in the kitchen which used to be book stacks. They still have the card catalog.

Amazing experience

This place could not have been better as far as non-veg restaurants go. The inside has amazing decor with tall ceilings, a fireplace, chic interior decoration. Morgan, whose family owns the restaurant, could not have been more welcoming or warm. We did not have a reservation but she had us take one after a cancellation and made sure to check on us during the meal.
I had a delicious $5 mocktail and such excellent vegan food which can be hard to find in more rural areas. I had sautéed spaghetti squash with pumpkin seed oil and pumpkin seeds, amazing flatbread slices with olive tapenade and olive oil, and a DELICIOUS mafongo (traditional Puerto Rican dish with mashed yucca and sautéed vegetables served in a pilón), and a mint mule cocktail. Veg options are impossible to find out here, so this was a wonderful experience.

Pros: The most welcoming, fun, accommodating staff, Delicious, high-quality, interesting food/drinks, Willing to make things vegan/vegetarian

Cons: Somewhat pricey, Not a ton of veg options
