Shady Shack has a beautiful setting and serves really tasty food! Based on someone else's recommendation, I ordered the Nori Bowl and it was indeed excellent.
Read moreThe next day, we had a pretty terrible lunch during a group excursion (the vegetarian options were really disappointing), so in the evening we decided we deserved a return visit to Shady Shack! This time, we also tried some appetizers and a rice dish, while my partner happily went for the burger with fries again. Everything was delicious!

Great restaurant in the heart of Canggu, pretty close to the beach.
Read moreI ate there twice and it was super good. Especially the Pulled Jackfruit with hash, green beans and beetroot with a vegan feta sauce was amazing.
I also had the Haloumi burger which was very good too.
Nice garden setting with plenty of shade. A must-go! I can highly recommend it.

We've been coming here for 8 years and it's consistently good. The portions are huge and the quality of the food is high. The sweet potato gnocchi is a standout dish, as is the red rice nasi goreng. Desserts are delicious too!

Friendly service and stunning food and sweets. I will update this review once I try more but so far:
Nori Bowl: coconut rice, tempeh, mushrooms, snap peas, edamame, nori and more
Raw snickers 7/10 too heavy for me would do better with toasted pieces of peanuts instead of smoothly blended
All the other desserts I tried are way too sweet as well so won’t order any of these again
The prices are similar to everywhere around 90 for a main plus 16% added later
Staff is lovely

Super cute restaurant with a lot of seating and nice areas, staff is friendly and many vegan menu options.
Read moreI had the beans on toast with hummus and even though it was nice, it didn’t have a lot of taste. Wouldn’t really recommend the beans on toast.
I think their other food is probably better. I only ate here once.

The Shady Shack is an OG Canggu vegetarian café. The menu is extensive and available throughout the day (I’m more of a brunch/lunch food girl so always happy when I can order the items before noon). Food is quite a good price in comparison to other western restaurants in the area. Staff is super friendly, too. I recommend the cauli rice bowl, go green bowl, and the edamame with wasabi dip appetizer.

Nacho chips are baked and plain. They are not crispy and they taste like nothing. I swear they did not put a grain of salt in the avocado mash. It tastes like grass. The beans taste not good.
