It's Hard To Find, But Worth The Hunt.

We had a hard time finding The Raw Food World warehouse and online store. The GPS didn't exactly lead us to its doorstep. Just as we were ready to give up and go home, we spied a sign that touted The Raw Food World! But, as we drove through the parking lot, there wasn't a sign on the building for the warehouse. Where was The Raw Food World?
My husband who was driving wanted to leave, but I jumped out of the car too fast. I had seen a small group of men sprawled out on the grass chatting with each other. I decided to ask them if they knew where The Raw Food World was located in this industrial complex. After all, The RFW was posted on the parking lot sign as we drove in.
As I walked over, one of The RFW staff jumped up from the group and showed us into the warehouse. Apparently, persistent customers like me are often misled by The RFW parking lot sign posted at the rear of the building, where there is no indication that The Raw Food World even exists. I'm sure other would-be customers just give up on their intended shopping spree after the struggle to find it. It might be helpful to The RFW if they posted a sign on the back of the building that says, "The Raw Food World Warehouse Entrance is at the Front of this Building."
The Raw Food World warehouse is open to the public, but gaining entry to it feels almost like an initiation process. Yet, if you can figure out where the door is and step through it-- it feels like you're about to embark on an exotic adventure in a Raw Foodists' shopping paradise.
The Warehouse is very neat and organized inside. There are aisles lined with numerous shelves holding little blue baskets, each stocked with healthy food items that are exciting to find (see photos).
If you are fortunate enough to meet Matt, the owner of The Raw Food World, he will share the most interesting research studies on many of the products he carries on hand. These research studies feel like "little nuggets of knowledge" for you to take home and ponder.
I think the "best find" I left with came from Sydney, the Customer Service Representative. She's a person who is really on top of things there. Sydney told me that online orders receive a 7% discount when submitted with the discount code: "rawfood7". And the best part? Well according to Sydney, "It works everytime!" How's that for a shopping tip?
Even better than the online discount is the walk-in customer discount of 10% off of an entire in-store purchase, but only if the walk-in customer mentions the 10% walk-in discount at check-out. Sydney told me not everyone knows about the 10% walk-in discount, so this is another shopping tip!
When Sydney showed me the list of At-Cost Specials, they were posted on several sheets stapled together! Sydney told me that the At-Cost Specials are products that the owner, Matt, has personally tried himself. Matt puts these products on a special discounted list because he personally loves these products and wants to offers them to his customers "At-Cost." Of course these At-Cost Specials are available online as well.
But, the whether the order receives the 7% online discount or the 10% walk-in customer discount, these discounts are calculated on top of the At-Cost Discounts! That's right, Matt's customers can receive BOTH the At-Cost Discount and the 7% online discount OR the At-Cost Discount and the 10% walk-in customer discount.
I recommend that walk-In customers take time to study the enormous list of products on the website BEFORE driving over to shop at the Warehouse. A quick call to Sydney might also be very helpful, especially before your first visit.
Don't forget to ask Sydney how to gain access to The RFW entryway. It's frustrating to spend valuable shopping time looking for the front door instead of finding important warehouse items. Make sure to check the refridgerated room filled with some of their best hidden gems. Happy Shopping!
