Amazing Vegan Guesthouse in Devon - Edit
First and foremost, owners Naomi and Mark were awesome. They went out of their way to not only make us, but all guests, feel included. They were attentive to all our needs and put such creativity and thought into setting up their literary-themed guesthouse.
Read moreThe breakfasts provided were amazing. It was so fun each night to fill out the order form for the next morning's breakfast, which offered many options and alternatives, and was absolutely delicious, and often (almost) more than we could eat.
The location of The Miggi puts you just half a block away from the Paignton seaside, within walking distance of restaurants, shops, laundromats, and public transportation, not to mention seaside walking paths and the quintessentially English Paignton Pier.
We will definitely stay at The Miggi on a future visit, and next time most likely during the summer.

Delightful Bed and Breakfast - Edit
So many thoughtful touches, from the On The Go Travel Wash Kit on our beds, to the chocolates and plant based milk in the room fridge, we felt welcomed and valued. The morning breakfast is huge and varied, something for everyone. The hosts, Naomi and Mark are kind and friendly, attuned to anything you might need. The guesthouse is well located with markets, restaurants, laundry, the beach and hikes all within walking distance. For those with pups, the guesthouse is dog friendly at no additional charge and plenty of dog amenities too! Definitely worth a visit on your next holiday!

Charming B&B, very close to the seafront. Plastic free, eco and dog friendly, vegan, ground floor accessible, and if you are in to books/Agatha Christie you will love the artistically themed rooms. Enjoyed our chats at breakfast. We will be returning- thank you for a very relaxing break.

A wonderful weekend - Edit
We stayed in the Tolkien room, which is accessible and conveniently next to the breakfast room. I thoroughly enjoyed the reclining chair next to the garden window and the tower fan at night time. The room had everything you could need, and it was all thoughtfully placed. The information booklet they had written was really helpful. There were complementary welcome truffles and travel wash sets. Naomi and Mark were lovely. The beach was on the doorstep. Filling out a breakfast form the night before, knowing that in the morning it would be all vegan (and gluten-free for us) was a dream come true. We want to come back and try another room.

Read moreOn arrival Mark gladly moved his electric car and gave us access to his granny charger which included a power display. There's an honesty box for EV charging but I preferred to calculate the total amount of electricity we'd consumed; 40p/kWh should have allowed for a small profit.
We found plenty of storage space in the Shelley room, electricity outlets on either side of the bed, individual reading lights, a heated towel rail in the bathroom and hot water on demand - the shower has a lovely rain head. The cold tap is mains fed and safe for filling the kettle or drinking bottles. The free Wi-Fi was reliable and fast enough for streaming iPlayer etc.
Night times were peaceful, the curtains in the Shelley room were particularly effective, the bed was comfortable, we slept soundly and awoke to the evocative sound of gull calls.
The Miggi has a comprehensive breakfast menu - you hand in a form with your selection the night before, stating what time between 8 & 10 you'd like to dine to ensure it's freshly cooked.
In summary, Miggi lived up to its reputation, leaving us with happy memories of our 'second honeymoon' in Torbay.

Wonderful vegan B&B! - Edit
I stayed here for 2 nights. All rooms are themed and I stayed in the Mary Shelley room (but I also got to see all the other rooms). The decorations and attention to detail is incredible! The hosts are friendly, they allow dogs, are LGBTQ friendly, have wheelchair access rooms, and fully vegan.
Read moreThe property is 100m from the sea, and also close to shops, cafes and a cinema. But they also have a resident vegan cook who makes breakfasts (included in the price), and afternoon teas & dinners available to order.
I would highly recommend and would definitely return here.

The Miggi is a wonderful place to stay. It is à minutes walk from the beach/sea but tucked in a quite close so very little noise.
Read moreThe host and hostess were very friendly and attentive, but did not pester me. My room was clean and had everything needed for my stay. Included, tea, coffe my choice of plant based milk and refrigerated water. I loved the themed rooms and the little booklet explaining the history of the name of the room. There was plenty of storage space.
What can I say about the breakfast. Scrumptious. Again nothing too much trouble and I could have whatever I wanted fron the menu, leaving out anything I didnt want. Breakfast was served spot on the time I requested it.
The Miggi had a lovely dining room full of books and games that can be read or played whilst there. Evening meals can be pre-booked if wanted and will be made by the wonderful Phoenix
I really couldnt have wished for anything else. So perfect for me I have already set my dates for next year.

I saw the Miggi advertised at one of the vegan festivals in Bristol and was very intrigued, and then me and my mum decided to spontaneously book a couple of nights a few weeks ago. We stayed in the Colour Purple room which was perfect for two people and done out really cool (though I'm ashamed to say I haven't read the book!). It also had a book of things to do around the area and a list of vegan friendly places to eat (the London Fryer was especially good). The price was really reasonable and we got a couple of delicious vegan truffles made by Phoenix upon arrival, as well as some lovely travel wash kits including handmade soap and shampoo. The Miggie itself was in a great location close to the seafront and we were able to park right outside. The owners were really friendly and gave us some good suggestions of what to do while we were there. The vegan breakfast was great with lots of options - which as a vegan I'm not used to! - and as we had to leave quite early on our check out morning Naomi prepared some croissants for us to take away which was very kind! Would definitely recommend!

Myself, my husband Paul and our dog Eric had the best stay at the Miggi. We experienced no problems whatsoever. We loved the Mary Shelly themed room. The area was quiet at night and very close to the seafront with plenty of amenities nearby and easy access to further towns. We woke up looking forward to the delicious vegan breakfasts every morning and always cleaned our plates. Our dogs needs were catered for also and to say it is a dog friendly place it was very clean. No previous dog hairs left over at all.

We stayed for a couple of nights at miggi, nice hot shower , tasty welcome chocolates in the mini fridge, the travel soap tin is a nice touch , the afternoon tea we had was very nice , generous portion size , can take leftover to our bedroom to have later is nice. Close location to the seafront. We enjoyed our stay thanks to the hosts.

We have just stayed here for 5 days and had the most wonderful holiday. Naomi and Mark are very friendly and welcoming, and nothing is too much trouble. The breakfasts are excellent quality and good portions, plus you have an extensive list of options to choose from. The room was spotlessly clean and very comfortable. Nice touches were the chilled water and homemade chocolates waiting in the fridge. The house is in a good location for both the beach and town, didn't even have to move the car. Can't wait to visit again, highly recommended.

Phoenix was a fantastic host and they were generous enough to accommodate us at the last minute too. The menu was divine and it was lovely to share our love of travelling and animals.

Pickled fresh raw beetroot ravioli filled with macadamia and basil "cheese" drizzled with red pepper coulis and balsamic reduction.
Linguini Carbonara served with a cashew pibe nut and truffle oil sauce, tenderstem broccoli, homemade bacon pieces, vegan parmesan and rawmesan
Lemon posset
1/2 a lemon shell filled with cheesecake served with homemade Belgium Chocolate ice cream and fresh berries.
It was also a byo so you could have a fantastically tasty meal with your favourite tipple, for a corkage fee.
