Super lovely place! - Edit
Visited a few times to try out this menu😄the curries are very homemade and don't taste oily! The banana bread is so good it's homemade bread served with cooked banana inside and served with peanut butter ♥️ they have a masala chai with coconut milk (I think you have to add the black tea bag yourself). We also tried a Vegan energy ball which was perfect for our train trip! The guy is so nice :)

Everything was so yummy and you can really feel that's it's cooked with love and intentions. Biiig portions. One of the nicest homemade food in pushkar. A must try, Sheru is super kind and accommodating to any needs you have! Support him and his beautiful cafe. I'm eating there nearly everyday!

This cafe is a must while visiting Pushkar. - Edit
This lovely place surprised me on so many levels. Not only do they primarily serve delicious vegan food (vegetarian options are also available), but they also try to be as sustainable as possible. The owner told us where he gets his ingredients from and how he tries to avoid food from companies. Everything is fresh and mostly homemade
Read moreI had the pakoras and vegan burger with fries that came with a homemade green sauce, pushkar rose soda that you could mix as you like and vegan pancakes with selfmade peanut butter everything was amazing!
I would come here everyday if I would stay longer.
Also the owner runs a charity project and proceeds of the cafe go there. So please support him by visiting this laughing Buddha!
Pros: Fresh and healthy food, Sustainable and homemade incridients , Reasonable prices

Great food and opportunities for people watching - Edit
When we first turned up the staff said food wasn’t available but as we went to leave the chef and owner turned up so all was fine. We ordered some vegan burgers with fries and some sodas. Food was delicious. I liked how you could make the rose soda to your own liking/strength and it came with a big bottle of soda so was good value. We sat on the balcony overlooking the market which was good for people/animal watching and parades going by (wedding season)

A hidden gem of a cafe with a big soul! - Edit
A must visit cafe if you want tasty food, a great view and friendly service.I ordered the vegan pumpkin curry and it was a huge serve filled with flavour. Support the cafe if you come to Pushkar, the owner helps the vulnerable through his cafe. It’s not easy to find, but just ask shop vendors….they will point you in the right direction.

Cute rooftop view, great food - Edit
We loved Laughing Buddha and visited many times in our 10 days in Pushkar. Sheru is an absolute gem and they have a separate vegan menu to make it easier to order. Our favourite place for chai - made with coconut milk - and we almost always ordered the banana cake as it was that good! We also had lunch and breakfast here a few times and were never disappointed.

The Best in India - Edit
This is hands down the best meal I had in India. As a vegan, it’s epic they have a separate vegan menu, but I ordered a side from that - the big Buddha breakfast , swapping out halloumi for eggplant dip. Honestly unreal. Vegan sausage home made, home made bread, home made chunky Tom sauce and green chutney. I’ll add a photo. 50%! Of proceeds go to a children’s charity.

Caution to vegans. Vegan menu has non vegan cheese - Edit
This place is a bit infuriating for a vegan and potentially dangerous for people with dairy allergies. The waiter staff speak little to no English at all and so asking questions is difficult, unless ypu speak directly to (what I presume is) the owner. We were given 'vegan menus'. On the 'vegan' menu is Naan bread. One of which is an option for cheese Naan and for butter naan. We were sceptical that they actually had vegan cheese or butter., so I inquired further with the wait staff, who had no clue what we were trying to ask. Or much clue about anything in fact. Anyway. After much back and forth and the speaking to the main guy (again, i think the owner), who stated that it was 'not' vegan cheese!!. So not only is thier vegan menu incorrect. It is also dangerous if have a dairy allergy. Especially if someone just goes ahead and assumes and trusts that the 'vegan' menu is in fact correct and what it is stating to be. Also, since the fact that the owner knows it's not vegan cheese (on a seperate vegan menu) and so is clearly too cheap to correct/replace the menu. Or even at a minimum, still doesnt cross it off the menu in marker pen. Or even advise people directly once they have requested the seperate menu. There is none of this and so the place deserves a bad review for this issue alone.
Read moreAside from this the food is rather average. Had the malai kofta and cashew nut curry. Both nothing exciting. The bread and pakoras were okay. Although we were then suspicious as to what else wasnt really vegan, if there were other issues of this on the menu. The top roof level has zero ambiance, compare to the middle level dining area. The cups for the drinks were dirty. The place needs a bit of a rethink and seems like things have slipped since all of the other good reviews.
Cons: Misleading vegan menu. Has normal cheese on it.

The Laughing Buddha Cafe is alive and well! - Edit
The Laughing Buddha closed for a while, as they had to move to new premises, but while the location has changed slightly, it would appear that the food is still as good as past reviewers reported!
Read moreThis is our first night in Pushkar, but I can already predict that we will be “regulars” here for the remainder of our stay
Tonight, we chose from their dedicated vegan menu, and started with pakoras, followed by coconut curry and mixed vegetable sabjee, both with rice. We also had a vegan Oreo shake, made with coconut milk, peanut and, of course, Oreos - so good!
Lovely atmosphere, very friendly people working here, and they give 50% of their proceeds to support children’s education near Pushkar.
Excellent!
Pros: Full vegan menu!, Really friendly people., 50% of proceeds go to a local school.
Cons: Not fully vegan.
