This place is like no other. Their baked goods are gorgeous and delicious, the pizza pockets are phenomenal, they pack burritos with unusual fillings like spaghetti and meetballs, cereal bar sundays... the list of whacky things they’re up to doesn’t stop! I went for a Harry Potter themed day and indulged in a Butterbeer and a sorting hat cupcake while Harry Potter films aired on the tv. They also have a few grocery items that are hard to find like Follow Your Heart Parmesan. Go often and try everything!

This place was exactly what I expected inside, as we have similar place in Ottawa. Staff was super friendly and happy to explain any food item in detail! There were options that I’d never thought I would have agai , including pizza pockets! Yummy. I loved mine, my omni friend was keen on mine because of the tempeh, but enjoyed her own. My other omni friend had a nacho burrito and really enjoyed it. At first they appear pricey, but once you get it, you realize it’s good value, as portions are super filling!
Read moreIt’s a semi self serve, you go up, place your order and pay, then they bring it to your table. Tempting treats also available, took home a yummy, but Uber sweet chocolate chip square. Apparently only popular dishes remain on the menu. They didn’t have the pepperoni pizza pocket, as they were out of pepperoni, which apparently tastes bang on but is labour intensive.
Pros: Very yummy food, Filling portion sizes, Ethical business practices
Cons: Lacking in sides ( salad would be nice) , Very sweet dessert

I went here after going to the farmer's market and it was great. The food was really tasty and they have things I didn't even realize I was missing, like ice capps!

Hamilton's best all vegan café and grocer - Edit
Seriously unrivalled by any other café or vegan grocer in the city. The staff are hilarious, they play best music, and their groceries are up to three dollars cheaper per item than anywhere else in the city. 👍

Seriously, this place is unreal. The owners are ridiculously friendly unlike some other local vegan bake shops who seem very pretentious. The food is the best vegan food I've ever had and they recreate all your non vegan favourites. Prices are totally reasonable considering the portions you get. They even come into the shop on Sunday when they're closed to make special orders like birthday cupcakes. Everyday I want to go back!

I was visiting Hamilton for training and made plans to visit The Hearty Hooligan as part of my trip.
Read moreI was not disappointed! The Hearty Hooligan is a walk-in shop that offers (at the time of my visit) a delicious variety of hot pockets, meat pies, desserts, and drinks. I opted for the "90's combo" which included 2 hot pockets, "hool-aid", and "punk-a-roos"
I tried the mac and cheese, and philly cheesesteak hot pockets. So delicious and filling!
The punk-a-roos, small vanilla cookies and rainbow sprinkle icing, were also so good. It totally gave me flash-backs!
The staff there were very friendly and there was also a small selection of vegan grocery items available in the shop. I picked up some Primal vegan jerky (hickory).
The verdict? So good! So good, in fact, that I detoured on my way home that afternoon to pick up a 6-pack of hot pockets and meat pies to take home with me.
PS - the meat pies were AMAZING!
