Having followed the Hearty Hooligan’s ins for a number of years, I finally dined at the Hooligan for the first time yesterday. I was genuinely blown away: well designed punk decor, friendly staff, tasty food, shared hatred of cilantro, all at a budget price. This is one of the few woman owned restaurants that truly deliver.
Read moreMy wife and I both liked their “pork” special, baked Mac’n Cheese, and house lemonade. I especially like their mac’n cheese: creamy, cheesy, and hearty.
I would not hesitate to visit again. Great job for creating such an amazing and inclusive place.

As soon as we came inside, we were welcomed so nicely. The food tasted great. The atmosphere is great. Lots of options here for “keeping vegan trashy”… which is on their wall inside.

I originally hadn’t tried this place because I’m sensitive to overly fried foods but they actually were the perfect balance of junk food without being overly fried! The portion sizes are great and the prices are reasonable.

They also have a huge selection of desserts of which we bought quite a few. All perfect! The punkaroo is delicious !
The vibe in here is really cool with old school cartoons on the walls as well arcade style tables.
Being that it’s a junk food theme, you won’t find much in the way of salads or veggies here in case that’s a problem for anyone.
They’re open later than a lot of vegan spots and also open Monday!
We will certainly be back!

One of the Best Vegan Restaurants in Hamilton - Edit
Food is always amazing, I love the Crunchwrap. Wait time is not bad and customer service is good. Very fun interior. Great unique menu items that you won’t find elsewhere. Bakery items are decorated wonderfully but a little too sweet for my taste sometimes. Can be a little pricey but nothing too out there compared to other restaurants in Hamilton.

I was so relieved to be visiting Hamilton area all because of finding this restaurant. I was blown away at all the options they had on the menu. The taste was very hearty and flavourful , and portions sizes were perfect.

Anti Warrior Burrito - My partner ordered this and I think he nearly died upon first bite. He proclaimed before we even got the food that this was going to be his favorite place, and he was not wrong!
Jumbo Pepperoni & Cheeze Pizza Pocket - we shared this and it was great! So different from anything we have in Columbus, which made it so much more exciting!
Turkey Bacon Club - What I ordered! Definitely could had gone with something crazier, but I was honestly nearly fooded out on our trip, so this was the perfect choice for me.

I love the atmosphere here and the selection of baked goods in their showcase. It’s a small joint with limited seating. Friendly, hardworking staff. Great place to order a special vegan cake as well, pricey, but worth every dollar 😊

Went here before a Ticats game in 2019 and haven’t stopped thinking about it since! Boyfriend got the Crunchwrap and I got the Anti-Warrior Bowl. It was what dreams are made of. Can’t wait to go back and order extras to take home! Portion sizes were great & prices fair. I wish I lived closer!

Renewed my faith in vegan restaurants. I got the loaded nachos and the crunch wrap. Either would have been a great meal on their own. But I wanted to try two things. The tvp beef was fantastic and cheeses were great.
Read more$30 after tax is hefty in my mind for these two items but at least I had half a crunch wrap for the next day.
Would be nice to see some combinations or sampler plate offered.
Definitely worth checking out if you’re in Hamilton.

Ordered from here several times now. The Frito Burrito is my favourite. Their cupcakes are amazing as well. The pizza pockets always seem to be sold out, but they were great when I finally got my hands on one.

So me and my boyfriend were craving sugar and decided to try their Blizzurds. I got the Oreo one and he got the Cookie dough. They don’t taste bad, but they do have a very strong vanilla taste. They’re also literally the same; the only difference is that the Cookie Dough one has chocolate chips.

The owner is such a badass, I love her!! Super yummy food with great portion sizes. I make the hour trip often when I get a strong craving for Hearty Hooligan. All junk food, all day = my kind of place. Super inclusive environment, everyone is welcome there as long as you’re not a dick. The wacky punk rock vibes are super sick and change the stereotype on veganism which is exactly what she goes for. She does custom cakes as well with horror themes and such. Totally different than any other vegan resturant in a great way! The owner is also openly super appreciative towards her staff and puts them first which is super refreshing to see. My boyfriend and I’s favourite is the mac & cheese burrito!!
