Gorgeous vegan food

Absolutely delicious food, a lot of Mediterranean dishes and also some classic British dishes such as "fish" and chips! The owners are so lovely and can't do enough to help you, the atmosphere is great and you feel at home inside. HUGE portions and fair prices! If you're in Middlesbrough you must come here

Pros: Everything is vegan, Big portions, Friendly staff

Cons: Quite oily food

Relaxed café

We came as a family of 5 and had 4 parmos (2 of which “hot shot”) and stew, also a side of sweet potato fries. Very happy we were too! Followed by cakes which were very good. Great fast food café place with nice animal artwork on the walls. Waitress was great. Good value. Ginger kombucha also YUM and all soft drinks had metal straws (not plastic)😄

Pros: Good service , Beer on the menu

Friendly

Shirley, the owner, is nice and chatty. And an extra special mention has to go to Hayleigh who is so lovely. She is brilliantly smiley and friendly and The Green Room are incredibly lucky to have her. We had our first ever parmos here! Then the next day we had the ‘chicken’ burger and ‘chicken’ skewers with peanut sauce. It was all great and filling. The omnivore couldn’t tell the difference and was more than satisfied. The desserts and cakes are especially brilliant. We tried a piece of gluten-free cake too, which was yummy and tasted no different to the glutenous ones. We’ll definitely be back and we’ll be ordering a birthday cake from here. It was clean, the decor modern and the music playing wasn’t too loud or niche.

Pros: Friendly, Tasty, Clean

Cons: Close at 6.30pm most days, Evening menu could have some fancier items

Lovely lovely lovely

I’ve been going to The Green Room since they opened and the food has always been amazing (i recommend the kebab), the staff are lovely and there’s always a friendly, laid back atmosphere. They also host events and fundraisers for wonderful charities and activist groups, use paper/ wooden cutlery/ bags for takeout, and are all-round a wonderful ethical business!

Quality beyond Compare!!!

This is hands down the finest Vegan dining experience you will find. Excellent, warm and friendly staff with a vast Vegan menu and puddings menu all at great affordable prices. The Green Room serves as a social hub for the entire local Vegan community and afar. I must also comment on the superb animal orientated charity work that this establishment supports. If you are ever in the area you simply must pay them a visit, you will not regret it one bit. Peace and Love, Lee✌

Pros: Fully Vegan menu

Cons: Cannot think of one in any way

Amazing!

I can’t recommend this place enough! I had the parmo, a peanut butter and banana milkshake and then took a slice of the salted caramel cake home. Everything was absolutely delicious, and so reasonably priced! The atmosphere is lovely, with great service from the staff. I will definitely be coming back soon.

Really friendly place

I went here with my partner the other day, wasn't sure what to expect, ahe is vegan an I am veggie/ trying to be vegan. Have to say the food was all gorgeous, there was barely any waiting time and all of the staff were really friendly, helpful and welcoming. I would definitely recommend to anyone, even my meat eating friends would enjoy the food. And it was such a pleasant change not to be scouring a menu desperately looking for something I can eat. Overall it was tip top, so much so we are planning to head over again next week and take the children.

Pros: Good value, Friendly, Lots of options

Cons: Can't think of any

cracking little bistro

Excellent food and very helpful staff. The decor clean and fresh, nice background music and the toilets immaculate. A great place to eat went with a friend and was not disappointed. Had pie, mash, peas and gravy and my friend had a sub with salad followed with chocolate pud for me and cake and cream for my friend. We both had a smoothie and I also had a coffee. It was very reasonably priced and I will certainly be returning. I wish I had known about this place earlier instead of trying to find somewhere to eat vegan in Teesside. Well done The Green Room and thanks again for a great tim and a great meal

Pros: completely vegan, very clean throughout, helpful and approachable staff

Cons: none

BEST VEGAN FOOD

As I'm 15, and I've been vegan for 3 years, somehow I only came across this restaurant recently! It's absolutely awesome! The staff are all friendly and all vegan and as passionate as I am about it which is reassuring to me that there is NO CHANCE of any non vegan products getting on my food. And the food... it is literally the best! The tastiest ever! My favourite is the bean burrito! And this restaurant is so good as its local to where I live! (I live in egglescliffe/Stockton)

Pros: staff, food, atmosphere

Cons: literally none

After reading all the positive reviews we were really looking forward to our first visit to the Green Room and were left wanting more. As soon as we entered we loved it. It has a lovely interior and a cool relaxed and welcoming atmosphere.

The food is fresh, tasty, plentiful and fantastic value. We didn't have room for dessert so took a piece of their amazing vanilla, chocolate, peanut butter and coffee cake home.

The lovely staff member serving us was really helpful, friendly and knowledgeable. It was great to learn that all staff are veggie or vegan. Being vegan is a passion and to know that the staff preparing and serving our food share the same values was really uplifting. It's been disappointing and conversation stopping on many occasions in other vegetarian establishments when we've learned that the staff aren't vegetarian or vegan.

The walls are covered in many lovely pictures of animals. There are animal welfare magazines and leaflets and a fantastic corridor leading to the toilet called the veggie hall of fame which displays pictures of famous inspirational veggies and vegans.

I really can't speak highly enough of The Green Room and look forward to visiting again.

In the Green Room with no Curtains

Middlesborough. Home of the Parmo. The Green Room. Home of the Vegan Parmo! Next time I'm definitely going to try one, but today I had a typical British favourite of pie, peas and mash. Their selection of pies is astonishing, I went for the Rendang curry one. It came with a lovely fluffy mash, semi mushy peas and loads of home made gravy. Oh, how I loved the gravy. We also had one of today's house specials of the BLT sandwich served with salad and lots of lovely chips. With drinks and a piece of cake to take back home there was still change out of a £20 note. The evening menu looks very special indeed and it is our aim to try this at a suitable opportunity in the near future. There's a veggie 'Hall of Fame' on the way to the toilets and a nice selection of gins. What's not to like? What's not to love? One of the nicest vegan places I've been to in the UK. I don't say things like this lightly.

Pros: great menu, friendly, good prices

Cons: NONE
