Chilled vibes and excellent varied menu - Edit
Came here for a birthday treat and it was well worth it! We had the satay skewers as starters, "steak" frites and strawberry trifles. All delicious and generous portions.

Absolutely Fantastic !!!! - Edit
Well what can I say nothing but praise for this place.
Read moreThis is a real vegan gem really is it is a real must for vegans.
My husband and I had the Christmas menu we had 3 dishes on the menu which was a good set price.
Having the " vegan " Salmon on toast for starters with salad . This was so tasty really was just perfect.
For the main we had the Christmas roast dinner - this was just so amazing.
Every thing fresh I had nut roast my husband had the seitan . All the trimmings you would find on a roast dinner and it was a fantastic portion.
Desert was the delicious banoffee pie.
Superb !!!
Please go and support this wonderful vegan place.
Staff amazing really was ( even when I accidentally broke a glass )
They cannot be faulted on their warm welcome and attentiveness throughout our stay.

Bad food. Great service - Edit
We really wanted to support a fully vegan business but the food fell short.
Read moreA trifle should consist of: layers of jelly, cake, strawberries, custard and cream. I was pretty unhappy to find crushed digestive biscuits in mine, and no jelly. It was sort of a cream custard and jam tiramisu with dry crushed digestive biscuits at the bottom.
Having had a largely inedible meal of shop bought chicken pieces deep fried (dry) and served with deep fried and dehydrated veg kebab with a satay sauce so revolting I couldn't eat it (it did not taste of peanuts and was sour). The staff member was really nice and listened to my problems and said the chef would be advised.
My partner had the streak which was dry.
Honestly, our experience here could not be more different to the joyous vegan meal we had at Charlie Browns diner. Avoid.
Pros: Nice staff
Cons: Bad food

Amazing food and atmosphere - Edit
Lovely to go to a fully vegan restaurant with gluten free options. Chloe and the rest of the staff are very friendly and welcoming. I loved the atmosphere in the restaurant with all the quirky touches, even in the bathroom. My food was delicious and we will definitely be back again. I like that the menu changes every now and then and I can try new food.

Food not served after a certain time - Edit
The restaurant closes at 22:00. I got there at 21:06 and they told me they weren't doing food. So if you're going in the evening, check whether the food is still on.

Great service, disappointing food - Edit
Had high hopes but we wouldn't go again. Service was excellent, when they dropped stuff then further screwed it up they were apologetic and funny so that it didn't matter at all. But the food just wasn't great. Bruschetta starter was overpoweringly balsamic and salty. My steak fries were OK, the fries were overcooked and they even screwed up the mushrooms. My friend's Thai green curry was very fresh but had no flavour really, immensely bland. I should have guessed given the chili jam I was offered was too hot for my waitress but I couldn't even detect any chili at all. His accompanying poppadoms were covered in pools of dark grease, though that was his favourite part of the meal. We didn't bother staying for dessert.
Read moreIt has a lot of potential but they're charging £16 a plate and I'd expect a higher standard of cooking for that. If this place was in Brighton it wouldn't last five minutes with the other veggie competition.
Pros: Service, Could be so good
Cons: Bland food

A total winner - Edit
Good place, well located in a quiet spot close to the seafront, with a couple of tables outdoors as well as inside. A fully vegan menu with a decent range including a number of gluten-free options. Tasty food. Friendly staff and relatively cheap, with a few delightful eccentric touches such as the canine menu. A total winner!

Vegan Heaven - Edit
Went last Sunday and had a roast - honestly so good. Generous amount of really tasty stuffing, gravy was delicious…as was every bit of it. I had a pina colada cocktail which was also lovely and the caramel apple slice which was insanely good, it’s like a cross between apple crumble and a flapjack. Incredible. Also lovely to have somewhere 100% vegan again after Green Bros closed. Staff/chef also very friendly!

The Good Grub says it all! - Edit
What a delightful find! A 3 hour return bus trip(at £4 each!) was well worth the adventure of eating at Eastbourne’s first and only vegan restaurant. We arrived towards the end of the lunch time menu on a Sunday and ordered the steak toastie, the avocado toastie plus 2 glasses of rosé. The wine was suitably chilled, as were we, and the food was good. Everything was lovely enough for us to decide to return over the next few days and try and take advantage of their enhanced supper choice. I really want to be wowed by it! The restaurant is situate at the far end of Compton Street on a small parade of shops in a more residential area.

Great place, amazing food! - Edit
My husband and I visited twice in 24 hours- once for dinner (which we had pre booked) and returned for breakfast the next morning.
Read moreThe staff are so friendly and attentive and the food was fantastic- well presented and tasty. Portions were huge, but they were happy enough to pack up our leftovers so nothing was wasted, and we polished those off a few hours later 🤣.
It was hard to choose what to have. We chose the tofu Scotch egg and bruschetta to start and the seitan steak and seafood pasta dishes for main. All were delicious as was the apple crumble we took to take out.
They don't do a 'vegan breakfast' any day except sunday- but we had smashed avocado and a steak toastie and both were lush and everything is really reasonably priced.
We like to visit new places and often choose places to go expressly if they have a local all vegan restaurant- this one has just opened.
I plan on making the trip again to try the Sunday lunch!

Enjoyed our seitan toastie and falafel wrap outside in the sunshine on this lovely tree-lined Eastbourne street. Both lunches tasty especially the creamy seitan toastie. The chocolate brownie and ice cream- best brownie I’ve had in a long time! Service was friendly and price very reasonable. We’ll be back!

Wonderful! - Edit
Wonderful to be part of the Good Grub’s opening night! Delicious vegan food which was beautifully presented - we had chicken satay skewers, tacos and strawberry trifle. Cosy venue with seating also available outside. Dog friendly too! Chloe, the owner, and her staff are lovely. It was crazy busy so recommend you book as many people had to be turned away. Great place, highly recommend for vegans and non-vegans who fancy something different.

Fabulous evening at opening night! The food was great, with main course as a real winner. I had the ‘seafood’ pasta which was incredible - so fragrant and flavourful. My husband had the ‘steak’ which he also really enjoyed.
