Everything is made in-house and includes a wide variety of gluten-free products. Unusual vegan dishes are served included 'seafood' pasta and 'steak.' Dog-friendly. Has a kids' menu. Open Mon-Thu 12:00-20:00, Fri-Sat 10:00-22:00, Sun 12:00-20:00.

we got the nachos to share, which were nice. i had the tacos, but there were only two, which i felt was a bit stingy. they needed salt. then, for dessert, i had the cheesecake. it tasted like vegan cheese, which i found to be very offputting. everyone else (meat eaters) said that theirs was nice.

Read moreThat in itself makes for a great experience, but then we come to a varied, reasonably price menu, that (in my experience) does not have a bad dish on it.
Everything I have had here has tasted amazing, and been cooked fresh to order.
I cannot come to Eastbourne without visiting The Good Grub, and always look forward to my next visit.

Being the only fully vegan eatery in Eastbourne, you could be forgiven for a bit of complacency - this is not the case at all. The food was brilliantly prepared and tasted fantastic. The service was warm and friendly, and incredibly welcoming.

One street behind the waterfront, this place is easy to find. Ate there twice while visiting Eastbourne and the food is very tasty and leaves one full and satisfied. Good selection of food choices which are a bit unique.

Didn’t realise that Eastbourne had anything vegan so was happy to find this. Went on Sat evening ans was easy to get a table. Super dog friendly and the staff were dog lovers. Food was good and portions were big. Steak was nice - not what I imagined, more like strips, but came with a whole plate of veggies and peppercorn sauce. Tacos looked great too and dessert was yummy. Highly recommend!

The staff here were so nice and I really enjoyed the vegan scotch egg I ate - their drinks were easily some of the best value on offer at TBVCO2024 too and that was appreciated immensely in the warm weather! Will be checking this place out when I am next in Eastbourne :)

July: Since my original review we have been back a few times for brunch with friends …. We have had both the Fy Up and the Brekki sandwich. Both of which hit the spot 😃😃 a non vegan friend was really impressed.

Had a nice meal but not the best. I made a mistake ordering the f*sh and chips but I wanted to try banana flower which I didn’t hate but also didn’t rate … my dining companions chose better with the tacos and flafle bowl. I liked the salad but then it seemed to be on every dish and a little too much vinegar.
Next time I’d try something different. The faux salmon was quite tasty 😋. Everything was presented nicely and made freshly. Don’t like the brand of faux chicken as it has no taste and once it was cold wasn’t v nice. Would still return tho 😃

I always want to support vegan businesses, but the food just wasn’t good. We did arrive near closing so maybe the chef had gone home or something(?), but it seemed like everything had been microwaved, and for the price I’d expect better.

Our server could not have been friendlier or kinder. It was a pleasure speaking to her and she was very attentive. One of the people in our party loved her food (satay skewers) but the fry up two of us had was a bit basic. I would go back to support this restaurant because the atmosphere was very pleasant.

Hands down, one of the best restaurants I've ever been to. Top end, London-quality food. I cannot recommend The Good Grub enough! The food was exquisite, the service was great, and the whole atmosphere spot-on. Martha was so kind and friendly, there was another amazing server too, but I didn't catch her name. I adored my mocktail with candyfloss, the small plates with smoked "salmon" and "camembert", and fajitas with all the trimmings. They really are running a unique operation here and every diner was in a great mood because of the amazing food and ambience. I was touched by the story of the business at the back of the menu, and also enjoyed the graffiti walls in the toilet (pen provided) and the lovely things to buy/take away, including basil mayo and dirty cow liqueur. It'd be worth moving to Eastbourne just to have this on your doorstep. I'll be back as soon as I can manage it! Thank you so much for a life-changingly good meal!! You deserve every success!!

Was really struggling for vegan options at places nearby while working in Eastbourne but this place was an absolute gem. The truffle steak sandwich was insane (I had it 2 days in a row) and the biscoff milkshake was delightful! Super friendly staff, amazing place to visit!

We found this little gem while visiting Eastbourne on holiday. Food was tasty, and the owner/chef was very welcoming and friendly. We had the burger, cauliflower popcorn, satay skewers and brushchetta. Lovely selection of drinks too.
