Lovely garden - Edit
My friends and I had a nice meal here though there were some things that could be improved. The earliest reservation available was 8:30pm, we arrived about 15 minutes early to an almost empty restaurant which wasn't very welcoming and made us wonder why they couldn't have seated us earlier. Turns out the garden in the back was full while the indoor restaurant was empty. We asked about their reservations when we were paying and they said they keep many reservations for walk ins and if we had called they could have let us know but that was not anywhere on their reservation page. They were out of probably a third of the menu when we arrived and the menu is already fairly small so we didn't get our first choices. The food was mostly good. The friend who ordered the halloumi was a bit disappointed; there was a huge portion of fried halloumi which I think would've tasted better grilled instead of battered and fried and it was accompanied by some fried potato thing which didn't have much flavour. It would have been nicer to have something fresh to go with all that heavy cheese. My pesto pasta was delicious and the walnut Bolognese was also good and very meaty. The summer salad we shared was excellent, full of colorful and unusual ingredients. The onion rings where good but the house ketchup accompanying didn't pair very well IMO. My cocktail, the Lambrusco Spritz, was delicious, not overly sweet like most spritzes.

Best oyster mushroom calamari I’ve had yet - Edit
Love the back patio, very peaceful garden area.
Read moreThe oyster mushrooms were fabulous, I didn’t love the Caesar salad - I wouldn’t have put nooch on it or capers. I might have it another time with more dressing and no nooch/capers.
Pros: Crispy fried mushrooms , GF fryer “100% celiac safe” , Patio atmosphere
Cons: Personal preferences only

Obsessed with artichoke sandwich - Edit
The artichoke sandwich is to die for. The perfect hangover food. Haven't been since the new year (and since covid other than take out) and I'm under the impression that they keep refreshing the menu. I'm excited to see what they do next

Hit or miss - Edit
I’ve tried this restaurant a handful of times and have sometimes enjoyed it and others been disappointed. The fries are occasionally burnt, the fried artichoke sandwich can be runny and extremely saucy. Overall the quality of the food fluctuates. I do like how creative some items on the menu are!

Delicious! - Edit
The food here is absolutely delicious. I got the bbq burger and a side poutine, and would highly recommend both. The mushroom gravy on the poutine was very different than normal gravy, but tasted really good nonetheless. Would recommend coming early if you want to sit outside, as the wait was a bit long for the patio and you can’t reserve in advance. Would definitely come here again!

Patio on fleek - Edit
Delicious food and drinks, but my favourite thing about this place is patio season! Cute, hidden, private space out back with trees and a little garden. There’s usually music, lots of sunlight during the day, and after dark, there’s string lights. In terms of food, I’ve never been disappointed here—everything is good. Personal favourite dish is the fried artichoke sandwich

Artichoke sandwich is amazing - Edit
The vegan artichoke sandwich is so. dang. good. Also LOVED the Brussels sprouts and found the bbq jackfruit buns to be decent. My only downside to this restaurant is that the tables are all really close together and it can be super loud when it gets busy- was hard to hear what my dining partner was saying!

Love the Arbor - Edit
I love this place; it is totally a dressed-down version of The Acorn. Everything on the menu when I was there could be made vegan, usually by substituting house-made nut cheese.

Acorn’s sister restaurant - Edit
The acorn is my favourite restaurant and this place is like a more casual version. They have great lunch items from sandwich to Mac and cheese. Most of their foods can be made vegan and they also have many gluten free options. Also a lovely back patio in the summer.

Great food and great garden patio - Edit
Loved this spot! We went twice during our 5 day visit. The space is very nicely designed and we loved the patio. The food was delicious. Loved the peach galette dessert, the tacos and pulled jackfruit steam buns. The appetizers of fired oyster mushrooms and popcorn broccolis are also great. Amazing vegan selection. It’s located just by the fabulous The Acorn on a fun street with great shopping.

Favourite diner - Edit
I am a celiac, my partner is vegan, and this is our go-to weekend spot. Try all the appies, especially the deep fried mushrooms and broccoli. Looking for comfort food? Mac and Cheese available in the original or any variation of vegan/gf. Burgers of a couple varieties, tacos (vegan not gf), and a foraged greens salad I can’t stop ordering. Usually one of the two desserts is available vegan. Small space, small menu, great staff, two patios (the one at the back is quiet and lovely). Can I give it 7 stars?

Lovely Spot for a Great Meal - Edit
The Arbor is conveniently situated on Main Street, and offers a lovely seating area infused with natural light. Our servers were charming and were able to offer some great suggestions and answered all our questions about the menu. I opted for the soup, and it seriously surpassed my expectations, with the perfect mix of hearty and gourmet. No surprise there though, given that The Acorn is its sister restaurant. I can’t wait to return to try the other items on the menu!

QUALITY AND VERY CASUAL - Edit
The arbor is a mix between a snack bar and a causal restaurant! Great place for lunch or dinner drinks! The staff are such cuties and always so kind! While you can certainly get cheaper veg food in Vancouver I highly recommend this place! The menu is very unique and so tasty! I wish they would open a second location on the drive, I would go everyday!
