good option - Edit

Red curry tofu is not vegan! Service great but they automatically add 18% service charge and prices are on the higher side already. Fresh and tasty, nice ambiance.

Vegan food marked on menu - Edit

The menu was short, but had several vegan option. The food was tad higher on price, though that should be because of the location.

great find in Zion - Edit

We had a great dinner here, but they seemed very disorganized with seating and waiting. They said waiting time is 45 min, but we waited 15 and there were many empty tables around us while people were waiting outside. Anyway, the food was great, very filling. The curry was quite spicy which we didn't know in advance, but everything else was great - seaweed salad, spring rolls, pad thai...

Good vegan options - Edit

The restaurant has clearly marked vegan options, several, including a yellow curry, fried rice, and summer rolls, which were all very good. Wait staff were excellent and it's a nice, clean place, with good prices for a resort area.

It was odd though that there were many options that were vegetarian, but not vegan. Being a Thai place, I can't imagine they all had dairy, perhaps a few had egg, such as Pad Thai. I wonder if they are including fish sauce and shrimp paste as vegetarian. It's worth asking if you're vegetarian because this is a common problem with Thai places. They mark things as vegetarian because they don't have "meat" but contain chicken broth, shrimp paste, fish sauce, or oyster sauce.

Overall, I was very happy with my meal there and appreciated the clear vegan options. I'm a little more picky, and won't eat vegan items deep fried in the same containers as fish and meat items, so that ruled out the samosas & fried spring roll.

Pros: Great Service, Clearly marked vegan options, Vegan dessert options

Cons: Not clear why veg items aren't vegan

Only place for vegan dining in Springdale - Edit

Springdale, UT is the gateway to Zion. There are perhaps a dozen restaurants in town, but only only at Thai Sapa can you find more than one vegetarian item or vegan items on the menu. Vegetarian and vegan dishes are marked with asterisks.

We had a decent vegetable stir fry and rice. They were out of brown rice, so we had to settle for white. We also ordered a yellow curry with tofu which was labeled on the menu as medium hot, but could have used a little more heat. It was also quite decent. Our dessert was a vegan coconut milk based ice cream that was surprisingly good. We wanted the mango sticky rice, but they were out of sticky rice.

This mom and pop restaurant has a typical Thai restaurant decor with the obligatory buddha or two and an altar with offerings. It is very clean and welcoming. The restaurant was very busy when we were there a few days before New Year's Eve, and many people were waiting for a table. Nevertheless, the owner came over to our table and chatted with us for a bit. The rest of the staff was also very friendly.

We looked for other restaurants that had vegetarian options or substitutions, and found out quickly that Thai Sapa was the only one that was vegan- and vegetarian-friendly. It may not be the best Thai restaurant we have eaten at, but we very much enjoyed our meal.

Pros: good vegan and vegetarian food, friendly staff, nice atmosphere

Cons: sold out early of some essential items

Yummy, vegan friendly - Edit

The menu has vegan items clearly marked. However, you still need to double check on some items; the samosas are vegan but are served with yogurt sauce unless you ask for it to be left out. Samosas were delicious, not too oily. Curry vegetable dish & pad thai were also delish. Clean place & friendly staff.

Pros: Vegan items clearly marked, Friendly staff, Very clean

Cons: Condiments may not be vegan

tasty food and great service - Edit

Thank you Happy Cow - we went to this place on your recommendation and we weren't disappointed, this restaurant is excellent. The restaurant sits in a very small tourist/shopping centre near the local cinema, very close to the entrance to Zion National Park. The menu has lots of choice and the serving staff are eager to help you choose and advise you on dishes. I am vegan and the restaurant were very comfortable and knowledgeable about this. When the food came there were large portions and it tasted delicious. The waiters were very attentive (but their english wasn't great). Springdale seems to have a lot of stakehouses and hotel restaurants, so having a thai place was a refreshing change.

Decent Veggie Option in Springdale - Edit

We had a great meal here, we almost went back a second time. The atmosphere leaves a bit to be desired but hey you are in Springdale Utah! The menu had much to offer with a complete vegetarian selection. This place is more of a fusion restaurant with asian and some Indian dishes. The food was very tasty and the staff was very pleasant. In fact we showed up right before they closed at 930PM and they did not show ANY displeasure I wish I could say that about some of the various restaurants I have been to in NYC or San Fran. right before closing or on a slow night.

We had a great vegetarian Pad Thai, fantastic veg Tom Yum. Many of their offerings can be had with tofu or gluten "fake" meat. Served good local beers, (Polygamy Ale - why have just one) and wine. Small place with about 15 tables if you are a large party I would definitely call ahead. Imagine that it could get noisy if crowded.

If you want a decent Thai meal (and remember where you are) or if you are a vegetarian looking for a safe, good bet, make sure to head on over to Thai Sapa.

Pros: many options, open past 900 PM, Friendly staff

Cons: not vegan, serve shrimp, no atmosphere
