The best vegan food around - Edit
Such a lovely little restaurant with really friendly staff that were super helpful about the menu and options available. We had the burger, Mac and cheese and chicken style wings and they were all amazing. Everything was really well presented and super flavourful.

Nice vibe - Edit
The restaurant is tucked away in the very pretty village of Godshill. Parking nearby is limited to a couple of spaces and one disabled bay. But there is ample parking not far away. The restaurant has a nice relaxed vibe and the lady dealing with customers is lovely. The restaurant was busy when I went so booking might be a good idea. The food was good and the Free Star alcohol-free lager was a great find. Everything is vegan.

The best roast we’ve ever eaten - Edit
At the end of a lovey weekend on the island we’d booked into Tandy’s Pantry for Sunday lunch before driving to the ferry.
Read moreThe food was literally incredible. Quite possible the best plant-based roast dinner either of us has ever had.
The staff were welcoming, very friendly and incredibly attentive. The restaurant is comfortable and the decor is excellent - lots of unusual plants.
We were offered a choice of three deserts but couldn’t choose so decided to share all three. It was the right choice - they were all delicious.
There were two red wines on offer by the glass. Each of us tried a different one and both loved the selection.
If it wasn’t for the fact we live on a different landmass we’d be regulars. We’ll definitely be back, though - the quality of food alone almost justifies getting on the ferry.
Pros: 100% vegan , Amazing good , Lovely venue, friendly staff
Cons: It’s on an island

Lovely location - Edit
We found ourselves here after the in-laws’ original choice of restaurant had literally nothing vegan - a remarkable feat in 2022. The restaurant is suitably beautiful for Godshill and the food was lovely, particularly the seitan wings.

Tansy’s Pantry is one of my favourite places to visit as a vegan on the island. Their Mac and Cheese is amazing and they have great portion sizes! Such a lovely atmosphere and such attentive waiting staff.

Disappointing in the day time - Edit
The menu is overpriced and built around evening trade. Would be nice to see them develop a proper savoury lunch menu.
Read morePros: Decent coffee, Indoor and outdoor seating, Good selection of cakes
Cons: Overpriced, Not suitable for lunch, No smoothies or shakes
Tansy'sPantry
Hi Culpeper, thank you for your review. We appreciate your feedback. It's no secret that the cost of living has risen dramatically and obviously has affected the hospitality trade. For example, a 20 litre drum of oil used to cost just over £20 and now costs almost £50, similarly the cost of banana blossom that we use for our Vish and chips has risen from a few pence per can to between £3-4. Due to this, we have had to increase our prices. However, in good conscience we cannot pass the full weight of these costs onto our customers and believe that our menu is still conservatively priced given the current climate of supply costs. We are sorry that you couldn't find anything to suit your tastes on the day you came to us, but hope you understand.

I was not expecting this exceptionally tasty food on the Isle of Wight. I wish I lived closer. We may have to revisit just to try more options.

Nice to find a vegan cafe in a small village on the IOW. Had the special schezuan wings, 4 wings with chips and a tiny bit of slaw. Very tasty but could have had more slaw and/or salad for £12.

Great food and atmosphere. Loved all the options on the menu - wish I could have tried them all! The "vish and chips" was amazing and my non-vegan friends couldn't tell the difference! They were thoroughly impressed as well.

We visited as a family of four whilst on holiday in the area. Lots of seating for a small venue and so much choice and variety on the menu. The dishes are of such a high standard and not over priced at all.

Tucked away in a quiet side road in the village of Godshill is a rare treat for vegans on the Isle of Wight. Tansy’s Pantry is a lovely little eatery with a great menu and chilled atmosphere.
Read moreI had the Hoisin Wings which came with chips and mayo - really tasty. Seitan can often be over chewy but not this time. My partner had the Soul Bowl - a nourishing and delicious dish with a choice of falafel or tofu.
Desserts were just as wonderful, a bakewell style cheesecake and a coconut and ganache torte - fantastic!
We went in late November and there were plenty of customers. Even at this time of the year I reckon booking a table in advance is recommended.
Pros: Varied menu, Careful food prep and presentation, Very friendly staff
Cons: Living on the mainland means getting a ferry!

Fabulous little restaurant - Edit
My brother, sister and I ate evening meals at Tansy’s two nights running while on holiday, and I’m the only one who’s vegan! They enjoyed their food so much that it was my brother who suggested we return the second night, also because it gave him pleasure seeing me enjoy the experience so much. He said the non alcoholic beer was better than mainstream zero beers he usually drinks.
Read moreWhat a difference to having one ore two vegan options at other eateries! The owners and staff are all lovely, very helpful at making suggestions for choices, explaining re vegan foods etc. All food, including yummy desserts was delicious and full of flavour.
It’s a quaint little building in a very pretty village. I wish I had something similar near home in Hertfordshire!

Finally made it to Tansy’s Pantry as last time I was on the island it was closed. I was super happy with my experience - the staff were really nice and helpful, the menu had a great selection and the food was excellent! The PBJ brownie was obscenely good. Definitely recommend.

Small but lovely venue. The staff were super friendly and welcoming, taking the time to engage with us and our 4yo. They were kind enough to bring his food out straight away so we could keep him quiet. My partner is omni but really enjoyed the burger. I'm vegan and found the soul bowl and mac n cheese met a craving I didn't know I had! We'll definitely be back on our next island visit.
