I love that there's a dedicated menu with solid choices. I'd love to come back to try the vegan bulgogi. Note: reservation required, but not too fancy/pricey

Vegan Korean! - Edit
I have been dreaming of this place and waiting (impatiently) to try vegan Korean food at a restaurant. We ordered tofu hot stone bibimbap, tofu kimchi fried rice, panko shrimp fries, Thai tea, and peach tea. The bibimbap came with banchan. The food is just so good, and I really liked the side dishes. The side dishes were all vegan, including the mayo-based one and kimchi. The veggies were fresh, the tofu was crispy, and the servings were generous. The person working was very friendly and vegan-aware. There are a lot of vegan options, and they are definitely not a second thought. Check this place out! #Veganuary

Incredible vegan Korean - Edit
Vegan Korean cuisine with this many options is rare to come by. There’s an entire vegan section of the menu, along with other vegan-optional items throughout the regular menu. On the sweet side, vegan thai tea and taro ice cream are heavenly. Almost all of the savory dishes we ordered were excellent (the bulgogi was mid). Highly recommended overall.

VEGAN options were great - Edit
Vegan menu was very obvious and they cook with espérate fryers and utensils. We ordered spicy tofu and dumpling soup which was definitely the right choice. The soup was very flavorful and the spice level was accurate ( medium ). My friend got the spicy kimchi fried rice and it was alright but he said the soup was better. Would eat here again.

Super Good Vegan Korean Food! - Edit
Got the milk tea boba, dumpling soup and kimchi fried rice. The soup was super flavorful and boba was nice and sweet, the fried rice was a little bland in comparison, but is good and a ton of food!

Best vegan kbbq - Edit
This is my favorite Korean barbecue place. Although it’s not fully vegan they have so many vegan options and a good majority of the items on the menu can be made vegan. The food here is so good, my favorite item is the tofu bimibap. And if you dine in you get a whole bunch of delicious vegan side dishes to go with your kbbq. Also I don’t think this is the type of Korean barbecue place where you cook the food on the table, I haven’t seen any tables like that in my experiences dining there.

While the food is amazing some of the portions are a bit big and we would have appreciate it if the server would have told us that we were ordering a bit to much.

Five Star for Vegan Options - Edit
This is one of my favorite places! I drive well over an hour just to come here as often as possible 💖 The tofu dumpling soup is my favorite 😍🤤🤌 Must get with some pomegranate soju. Staff is friendly and knowledgeable of veganism. Just a few minutes drive from the beach as well.

Love it. - Edit
I’ve been living in Korea for the last year and half and I am all about the food so on my visit to Long Beach I just had to try Sura! Everything was so good! We had the dumplings, japche and that vegan fried egg on top of my bibimbap was amazing! Not sure it’s on the menu anymore but it was made from mung beans and it was really good! I love Korean food!

Good but not great - Edit
I enjoyed the vegan marinated bulgogi BBQ served with banchan but it was not great. I am glad to have visited and if I were to visit again, I would order something else from the surprising vegan section of the menu and the various vegan items throughout.

Vegan Korean outside of Korea - Edit
Despite Los Angeles County having perhaps the most Koreans outside of Korea, it's damn hard to find vegan Korean food. I've had vegan food in Korea but Sura is really something special. It's possible to find hot stone bibimbap made vegan in LA but Sura has other things too. Vegan options have their own section on the menu and include appetizers and soups. I recommend the vegan hangover ramen with rice cakes. They have smoothies that can be made vegan too. Feels like you get a lot for what you pay. I like the rice cakes so much that I tried the crispy rice cake skewers appetizer but it felt like too much food even for two people (gets repetitive to keep eating it). Parking is limited but the food is worth it.

Delicious and inexpensive - Edit
Came here with some vegan friends around 5 on a Saturday night. We got a table right away and to our surprise they had a happy hour special going on. Lots of vegan options on the happy hour menu, I tried the shroom fries and the vegan bao buns and both we INCREDIBLE! Everything was really reasonably priced, I got the two appetizers as well as 2 beers and my bills came out to $25. Will definitely be coming back to try more vegan options, they had a decently sized regular vegan menu too, and everything was very clearly labeled.

YES! Vegan Korean Food! - Edit
Sura has a dedicated vegan menu full of Korean staples and favorites, eg bulgogi, japchae, bibimbap, and jjigae. They even have vegan banchan (side dishes) that, as with a good Korean restaurant, they will refill w/o charge. We dove into vegan bulgogi, tofu japchae and tteokbokki, and... it was GOOD. Service was quick and the staff was really cool. Sura pulled of the right flavor profiles and ensured we knew what we ordered was indeed vegan. This is a great place for a vegan meal, or if you must, take your not vegan pals and eat together.

Vegan Korean! - Edit
It is not easy to find vegan Korean restaurants in LA. I trekked down to Long Beach to try this Korean restaurant with a vegan menu.
Read moreI ordered the kimchi fried rice with vegan shrimp and vegan egg. Based on Korean food I have had, this was one of the best.
The condiments at Korean restaurants are always a nice touch.
It's still not my favorite cuisine out there, but this place is good if you want to try Korean food vegan-style.

Never really had Korean food and theirs was great. I had the egg bibimpap bowl. It was delightful. I wanted more!! We shared the shroom fries, I’m not big on fried food, but very tasty. My hubby had the vegan hangover ramen, spicy. It really has a nice spice level. We would definitely go back!
