Downtown Diner w/ Many Vegan Options

All the employees here are so friendly and energetic. The owner makes it a point to greet everyone in the restaurant and thank them for their patronage.

Vegan items are clearly marked on their regular menu. In addition, they list more vegan dishes on a display card at the table.

We dined here for the 2025 Vegan Chef Challenge. The Panna Cotta was the standout: a subtle sweetness paired with a delightfully firm and velvety texture. It is so good, we hope they put this on their regular menu.

The Banh Mi had tasty Pickled Vegetables, but I would describe this as a “Midwestern” Banh Mi.

From the regular menu, the Vegan Chorizo Breakfast Burrito and the Vegan Italian Sausage Scramble were solid and hearty.

For the Banh Mi and Sausage Scramble, instead of the included Fries, we chose Potato Cakes (for an upcharge) which were tasty.

It can get crowded on the weekends.

Solid Vegan Breakfast Option downtown Kalamazoo

Studio Grill is a quaint diner style restaurant in downtown Kalamazoo. The interior is a little dingy, but the vegan pancakes are a real treat.

Studio Grill is a comfortable spot for a breakfast downtown when out with a non plant-based group that offers some delicious vegan pancakes.

Pros: Some vegan options, Vegan pancakes

Cons: Not entirely vegan, Dingy

Vegan Diner breakfast

I haven’t sat in a diner and had breakfast since I went vegan twenty years ago. I had a stack of pancakes and added a vegan sausage patty, and drank black coffee. If I lived in Kalamazoo, I would do this often! There are a lot of vegan options on a newer vegan menu.

Pros: Lots of vegan options , Vegan pancakes, Delicious and affordable

Nice to have vegan options at a diner type restaurant.

I went here with my mother in law who loves her diner breakfasts. Seeing the options they had made me more comfortable to eat there. The staff was very knowledgeable about the vegan options. I had the veggie wrap with the pesto sauce and it was delicious! I also had the chili, while the flavor was good it was pretty spicy.

Pretty mediocre; cute local diner atmosphere

I'm not sure if I just ordered the wrong thing, but I was un-amazed with this restaurant. I ordered the balsamic portabello mushroom spinach wrap and, though it wasn't bad, it didn't seem very remarkable. I personally would've enjoyed more flavor. It came with fries, which you would like if you enjoy fries, but I would've preferred the option of a vegetable side. If I do go back I think I will try their vegan pancakes (I saw them on m way out and they looked pretty tasty) or their vegan chili. It was fairly inexpensive which was nice; I would probably go back and order something different.

Pros: close to campus and downtown kalamazoo, fairly inexpensive, several vegan options

Cons: not many healthy options, food isn't very flavorful, a bit of a wait

Excellent Vegan options, but beware!

The vegan burger, pancakes, and chili are all great, but the burger advertised as vegan comes with an onion ring made with dairy on it. Just be sure to talk to the wait staff, as they are very friendly and nice. They also have fantastic vegan lattes and drinks.

Pros: Friendly staff, On-menu vegan options, Excellent food

Cons: burger advertised as vegan comes with non-vegan on

Good vegan options!

This is a local hot spot especially weekends at lunch! It has a nice hometown vibe and they offer vegan chili, vegan pancakes, and a vegan black bean burger (locally sourced from Ope's) The black bean burger can tend to be on the greasy side but otherwise I love the vegan options that they provide! My carnivorous boyfriend can satisfy his palette at the same time.

Pros: Cool "diner" vibe, Awesome owner, Good amount of veg options

Cons: Greasy--But that could be a pro for some!, I could handle a few more veg options ;)

Loved It!

My husband and I just ate here last Saturday. The owners Daphney and Craig were warm, inviting and extremely fun to talk to. We had the Port-Oh-Bella Wrap, Veggies and Hummus, and the Sweet Potato Fries. The portabello mushrooms were cooked perfectly, the hummus was delicious and the sweet potato fries and their regular fries should have their names changed to Crack Fries. : ) They promote local artists each month and everything is cooked to order. Will definitely be back.

Pros: Owners are FABULOUS!, Great Food, Open to any and all suggestions
