🛑 Avoid if you have dietary restrictions / Terrible customer service - Edit
I visited Cairo's Kitchen specifically because of their vegan options for my girlfriend. Unfortunately, our experience was completely ruined by unsafe food handling practices and incredibly unprofessional management.
Read moreWhen we arrived, we looked at the regular menu and their daily specials. They had spinach samosas listed on the daily menu, so we explicitly asked the woman at the counter if they were vegan. She assured us that they were. My girlfriend ordered a vegan falafel sandwich, I ordered a chicken sandwich, and we got the samosas.
When we sat down and bit into the samosa, it was completely filled with cheese. Because of her dietary needs, we took it back to the counter to explain that we were told it was vegan. Instead of apologizing for the mistake, the woman at the counter aggressively denied the conversation, insisted we never asked her, and literally started making up a completely false story about how the interaction happened.
She continued to argue with us until one of her own employees thankfully stepped in to de-escalate the situation. When I asked her who she was, she proudly stated she was the manager and the owner.
It is incredibly dangerous for a restaurant owner to misinform customers about allergens or ingredients, but it is even worse to get combative, argumentative, and "in your face" when caught in a mistake. If you own a business, you should not be acting like this. Unprofessional, rude, and completely unsafe for anyone with dietary restrictions. We will not be back.

Cairo’s Kitchen is a Tiny Taste of Northern Africa in the middle of Kalamazoo, MI. - Edit
As you step into this small, 6-tabled (plus bar-style seating for five at the large window), Egyptian popular music fills the air and the scent of spice-filled Egyptian Coffee fills the nostrils. Many dishes are automatically vegan or able to be “veganized”.

Pros: The Discount System, The Accurate(not Americanized) Egyptian Koshary, The Egyptian Coffee
Cons: Their use of Styrofoam Cups
