Great food with a great mission - Edit
We were so excited to eat at Strecha tonight. The restaurant is large and bright. When we first entered we thought it was small, but the restaurant is in the shape of an L and has about three separate seating areas on the long arm. We sat in the very end room which had a couch with a low table and a chess set and a monopoly game. Our servers were very nice and spoke to us in English.
Read moreWe ordered the dumplings on red cabbage and the fried cheese with fries. It was great to get to try some traditional Czech dishes veganized. The food was delicious and the portions were generous - we sadly weren't able to finish our meals because we ran out of room.
We were happy to purchase a pending meal for someone in need.

Filling and flavorful lunch - Edit
When we showed up for lunch we were disappointed at fist to learn that there was only one lunch entree available (in addition to an offer of 6 or 7 “snacks “!like hummus and egg spread). However, the pasta Bolognese was so delicious that we didn’t mind the limited options. We also ordered the cabbage soup which was a delicately flavored and puréed treat.

Love the concept of this restaurant - Edit
We came here for lunch today and got the only option for lunch which was a potato soup, veggie meatloaf and mash potatoes. The food was very good and our waiter was very polite. Would definitely return here to try more of the menu.

Nice place to eat - Edit
The place was easy to find and the dinner menu had several intresting things to try. We ordered a bunch of dishes and liked everything. My personal favorite was the gyros seitan dish and the beetroot carpaccio was nice too.

Amazing - Edit
Great bistro where you can get healthy vegetable meals but also czech classical junk food for great prices. What I love on the place that it is a social cooperative and offers job for socialy disadvantaged (e.g.former prisoners).

Best chips in Prague! - Edit
This is a lovely little bistro, and a great one to support. It seems that the menu may only be in Czech, but the staff speak great English. There are some traditional Czech dishes on the menu, along with more international fare. My partner tried the schnitzel sandwich, which he really loved - the texture of the schnitzel was amazing. I really loved the kebab plate, which was all very tasty and filling. Best of all was the plate of chips we got to share - proper big chips, and the best we've had in Prague. We were very impressed!

Brilliant concept, great food - Edit
I absolutely love the concept of this restaurant and felt this was enough to go and support it. Apart from the place employing former convicts and people who've experienced being homeless, you can pay for lunch for a homeless person for the next day (I think it's called "hanging lunch" or something like that in the menu). The staff were helpful and spoke good English, and the food itself was very good too. I also recommend getting a beer with the lunch - it's in Prague, after all!
