Opened Feb 2018, relocated to new address Feb 2022, a social enterprise vegan restaurant that employs homeless people and people after leaving jail. Offers lunch menus, wide range of local vegan cuisine, fair-trade coffee, alcoholic drinks including local draught beer, vegan and gluten-free cakes and other desserts and last but not least a variety of high quality non-alcoholic alternatives. Open Mon-Wed 16:00-23:00, Thu-Fri 16:00-00:00, Sat 12:00-00:00, Sun 12:00-23:00.

Great food with a great mission - Edit
We were so excited to eat at Strecha tonight. The restaurant is large and bright. When we first entered we thought it was small, but the restaurant is in the shape of an L and has about three separate seating areas on the long arm. We sat in the very end room which had a couch with a low table and a chess set and a monopoly game. Our servers were very nice and spoke to us in English.
Read moreWe ordered the dumplings on red cabbage and the fried cheese with fries. It was great to get to try some traditional Czech dishes veganized. The food was delicious and the portions were generous - we sadly weren't able to finish our meals because we ran out of room.
We were happy to purchase a pending meal for someone in need.

This restaurant provided some great Czech food in a bistro setting. The food was lovely and is definitely worth a visit for any vegan visiting Prague. The staff were extremely friendly despite dealing with angry customers who were confused it was a vegan restaurant. The restaurant also has some great community initatives that are great to see as the business helps local people.

I have made better gulash in my own kitchen, tbh. The dumplings had no flavor. Staff was nice and prices very reasonable, 30 euros for two for two plates of goulash and two drinks.

We were so grateful to enjoy such a traditional, delicious and vegan Czech meal. We came here for lunch without a reservation. The servers graciously fit us in. We loved both of our meals, which tasted local/traditional, filling and fresh. We left stuffed and glad for the opportunity enjoy a meal at this vegan staple in Prague. The decor, seating and building/location was interesting and cozy. The servers were friendly and helpful. One even shared his list of favorite vegan spots, which we referred to for the rest of our trip!

The way to do vegan. - Edit
Came here based on it being vegan in a city we were visiting AND operates with a social conscience. Excellent experience at this busy, fun restaurant. The food was wonderful with lots of traditional Czech dishes. The grenaille with sour cream were fabulous along with the goulash. We had both alcoholic and non-alcoholic beers and enjoyed the friendly service and comfortable environment. Plum cake is going back to our hotel for later! All good vibes.

Service and Food were good and the mission is awesome! I think not all foods were created equal, the Gualsch is excelent, the "surloin" was not as good. (It was also not bad, it just could have been better.) However it is absolutely worth visiting!

Es gibt eine große Auswahl an veganen Gerichten, welche für mich sehr traditionell sind! Wir haben Schupfnudeln mit Pilzen in einer käsigen Sauce und Böhmische Knödel mit Bier Gualsch gegessen. Beides unfassbar lecker! Das Gulasch war sogar leicht scharf, was meiner Meinung gut gepasst hat! Man hat die Wahl zwischen Rösti und Knödeln, was der Karte nicht zu entnehmen war.

A restaurant that employees people who’ve experienced homelessness or been to prison, this socially conscious restaurant is definitely worth a visit. The food is delicious and I highly recommend the sour cherry must (hot drink).

Wir haben die Kritik direkt beim Personal angesprochen. Damit wurde sehr professionell und freundlich umgegangen, und uns wurde sogar ein Refund angeboten, den wir dankend abgelehnt haben.✨️💜

Ich war ein bisschen enttäuscht, denn die Klöße und das Gulasch war anders als gedacht. Beim Gulasch fehlt mir definitiv Gemüse und eine gewisse Würzigkeit. Bei den Klößen hab ich mich anscheinend falsch ausgedrückt, ich wollte Kartoffelklöße, ich bekam Hefeklöße. 😅🤷🏻♀️
Meine Begleitung war mit ihrem Essen zufrieden, die Tatarsoße war im Prinzip eine würzige Mayo mit klein geschnittenen sauren Gurken. Lecker.
Der Blumenkohl war nicht in klassisch flüssiger Panade sondern in Semmelbrösel frittiert.
Die Mitarbeitenden waren alle freundlich und hilfsbereit.
Die Räumlichkeiten sind wesentlich größer als es von außen erscheint. Die Einrichtung ist rustikal.

Leider mussten wir nach langer Wartezeit nocheinmal nachfragen, wann unsere Cheeseplate kommt, die wahrscheinlich vergessen wurde. Das Warten hat sich aber gelohnt. Das Brot und der selbstgemachte Käse waren so so gut!
