Perhaps not a place you'd expect vegan options, but they have some - Edit
A beach front cafe in Redcar, it has the usual burgers, chips etc and you'd think little for vegans.
Read moreSurprisingly they have a vegan burger and veggie burger listed, both for a bargain £4.
I was told they had vegan ice cream too but never tried it.
Good to see places trying

Vegan ice cream - Edit
Visited on a recommendation from a lactose intolerant friend. Vegan vanilla ice cream is available. Scooped from a tub and piled high into a cone
Read moreCons: Not “Mr Whippy” style , Only one flavour (at my time of visiting)

Much better vegan options recently! - Edit
We've had the sausage buns, vegan brekkie and vegan and chips are all lovely.
Read moreVegan panini is not so great, lacked decent fillings and was undercooked both times.
It's a good option if you want something quick and easy.
Use of so much plastic is really a letdown. Everything was packaged in non recyclables and way too much plastic.
Pros: Price is reasonable , Quick delivery times
Cons: Can be a bit greasy , Way too much plastic used

A cafe that is worth swerving - Edit
Small cafe with both indoor and outdoor seating located right next to the beach and Zetland park.
Read moreThe service was ok, it took around 10-15 minutes for a cooked breakfast. The staff seemed half asleep and miserable.
I asked about what vegan options they offered and I got told of a vegan/gluten free cake (which had sold out at 11am) and the vegan breakfast. When I finally got the breakfast I realised that they had given me dairy butter, questionably vegan sausages and vegetable patty thing that looked out of place. Not forgetting the beans/mushrooms/tomato that you would expect to find. The food tasted and was dripping in oil.
At over £5 I felt a bit ripped off for what I was given.
Pros: Outdoor and indoor seating, 2 vegan options
Cons: Lack of awareness for veganism, Greasiness of food

Lovely vegan breakfast - Edit
Popped to the Stray cafe for breakfast and was delighted to see a vegan breakfast in their menu. We sat outside as we had our dog with us. The lady told me that she had cooked it all separately. There was no suitable spread for the toast but that was OK. They also had soya milk for my tea.
Read morePros: All cooked separately , Very tasty
Cons: Served in a polystyrene box when eating outside , Plastic cutlery (mine broke)
