Same owner ship as Backspace Cafe next door with similar food menu that's inexpensive. Snacks, salads, sandwiches, a few main entrees. Non smoking inside, has Wi-Fi access. Happy hour 4-8pm. Frankly this place, and Backspace (which they share their kitchen with) have both gone from all vegetarian and quite delicious (2008) to mediocre and serving meat (2012).
Read moreI'm not saying they are mediocre simply because they server meat, now. I think their vegan options have drastically decreased in tastiness in the past few years. Sad.

I was here in September 09 and am pleased to share my review of Someday Lounge on HappyCow.net. It was my first trip to Portland. I had mapped out a string of restaurants I'd want to visit while here, and this was one of them.
Read moreInside on the ground floor is a bar with many stools for people to sit and drink or snack. Further into the lounge is a velvet red curtain hiding what seems would be the stage or a large screen. There is a loft area with tables for dining. Also many small tables outside for sitting on the sidewalk.
We went on a Thursday evening and there were many people hanging out both inside an outside. Seemed like a place where late-20s to 40/50s professionals get a drink or bite with friends after work.
Pros: mellow vibes, decent menu choices, affordable

the happy hour is just awesome. they have vegan quesadillas and other vegan cheese options as well as some sandwiches and other snacks. it is seriously cheap and delicious!

Sorry bye and bye. Although not 100% vegan, this bar has nightly entertainment, has a better location, and is cheaper. Their happy hour runs 4-8pm M-F and is 100% veg and 75% vegan for under $5. So you can get a beer and a meal for under $10 after tip which is really hard to find in this town. The food is made a backspace but they keep the menu slightly different which is a nice change. To top it off there is often free entertainment or if you come in early enough you won't pay the cover. The atmosphere and location is really good as well as this bar has a real unique vibe and construction with the interesting plywood sandwich towers and a lofted seating area.
