Delicious generous portions - Edit
Huge menu, a little overwhelming at first but wonderful to have so many choices. I feel like I could come back everyday for a month just to try all the different chai/ coffee/ maca latte option. Cost atmosphere, great tunes.
Read moreI was bummed out that all the plates/knives /forks/ cups were disposable (recycled and compostable) but totally unnecessary if you're eating in. I ended up going to the car to get my water bottle because I didn't want to use a second paper cup for water.
Pros: lots of vegan options., free cinnamon, clove water.
Cons: paper plates/cups/ forks ☹️

Amazing Sunday afternoon lunch - Edit
My family and I came here for lunch and were pleasantly surprised by the large menu and atmosphere of the cafe. It was packed when we got there and continued to be busy. It did take about 45 for the food, however we ordered four large dishes and were very satisfied with the meals. The blissed our nachos were by far the best, as well as the heavenly wrap. The Tahoe burger was pretty good and so was the ginger bowl, however it was very small for the price. Considering the past reviews, I would say that the ginger bowl was the only thing that was overpriced. Overall, the staff there was very friendly, there was really good food, and while it look a little longer than normal, we didn’t mind considering how busy it was. Definitely worth it!

Hit n’ Miss - Edit
Have been wanting to go here for so long. The Nachos and Bowls are huge and delicious. The raw deserts and “candies”, especially the almond butter balls are darn good. The sandwiches were horrible. Luckily we got there before three other couples, two of which didn’t get the correct order and were still waiting when we left. May go back, but won’t rush. Makes me sad, a bit.

Simple Bliss, IS simply blissful! - Edit
This restaurant, Simple Bliss, IS simply blissful! Didn’t know South Lake Tahoe had a vegan cafe! HUGE menu. Everything is made on site. This is their Devilish Salad and their detox potion organic fresh pressed juice. I also ordered a side of brown basmati rice to add to the salad.

Just no. Don't give them your money. - Edit
The desserts looked amazing, but we didn't make it that far. It's a cozy, friendly place with a polite and kind staff. Unfortunately the food was pretty sub-par. They served the type of vegan food that I would have expected to find at a vegan restaurant from fifteen years ago. The "burger" was essentially just slightly over cooked red lentils and carrots with a small amount of binding agent (maybe flax?) That didn't hold together well. The nachos were drowned in a vegan cream to the point that you couldn't see any chips or other toppings beneath. And finally the Devilish Sandwich was more of a mustard celery soup on a bun than a sandwich. The prices were outrageous, but we simply wanted to avoid making our own food while on vacation. These days finding vegan options is relatively easy, and sadly I would recommend saving your money and hitting a grocery store for a fraction of the price and a significant improvement on quality.

Extensive menu and they have different types of homemade milks. It is a bit expensive but food is delicious and made with care. They also sell vegan and sustainable items. I will be back :)

really small portions - Edit
I ordered cinnamon toast it was tiny like a quarter piece of bread and the topping was so dry just a pile of cinnamon sugar on dry toast. Really didn't like it at all. My husband ordered the nachos, the portion was small and basic toppings but they tasted alright.

Don’t waste your time! - Edit
Yes they are fully vegan, and I have given them my buissness on multiple occasions, but it’s not worth it. The prices are outrageous and the wait is ridiculous. Don’t go! We waited an hour and fifteen minutes for 1 latte, 1 smoothie, a bagel, and a sandwich. Nothing we wanted was available, and it took forever! We were the only customers! Plus, each things comes out one at a time, instead of all together.

Expensive and mediocre - Edit
I hate to give a lower review to the only fully vegan restaurant in town. And I know it's all organic and locally owned but the prices were ridiculous. $7.50 for a vanilla latte and $14 for 4 tiny pancakes? $4 for one slice of toast? The atmosphere was cute but the restaurant was tiny and crammed. The food was pretty bland and nothing special. I won't be returning.

Good Food-Pricy- - Edit
The blissed our nachos and Chickpea omelette were both very tasty. Including 2 juices our tab was $55. Food was customized and made to order and of course all vegan. I honestly didn’t mind paying but I won’t go too often because of the price. Staff was non enthusiastic and not very helpful with questions or suggestions.

Being away from home, finding vegan in restaurants and stores is difficult to say the least. Thanks Happy Cow for showing me the way here. Yumm carrot cake muffin, delish zen juice and Bliss Bagel sandwich. Sign inside says No Wifi. Pricey but a good stop nonetheless.

Disappointing. Rude Service. - Edit
Very disappointing. Rude service.
Read moreEvery time my partner and I came through Tahoe, we would frequent this spot to help support a local vegan restaurant. We will not be returning.
Decided to order a different menu item, the pancakes. Food was extremely bland with soggy texture, no flavor. Gently spoke to the staff regarding our feelings about the pancakes and was ridiculed for bringing our concerns to them. Extremely negative owner came by to speak to us within minutes. Her energy was heated with a bad attitude. Took things very personal and used guilt tactics and shaming towards us. Claiming no one has ever complained about her food in all of the years she has been in business. Then telling us that she took time out of her busy day off, just to come "deal with us" when that was never even expected. Completely unprofessional and unacceptable for a restaurant. We were made to feel shamed for simply addressing a legitimate customer inquiry.
For a Vegan cafe that portrays bliss and good vibrations, this energy is not aligned.
Extremely disappointed in how we were treated as return loyal customers and the negative energy that was directed towards us. Definitely not loving, caring, compassionate or anything that has to do with Vegan or conscious living.
Food quality has drastically declined over the years.
Minuscule portions.
Over priced.
Bad vibes.
Negative energy.
Karma will indeed catch up with Simple Bliss if they continue to treat others this way and operate in this manner.
Very disappointed.

Disappointed - Edit
I was in Tahoe for the weekend and was super excited to see a restaurant with so many options for vegans, but I don't think I'll go again next time I'm in town to visit. Both times I went the service was really subpar. They weren't friendly at all and when I double checked with a server that everything on the menu was vegan she rolled her eyes and responded in a very rude tone "Yes. We are called the vegan cafe." The food quality was not appetizing. We went once for dinner and once for breakfast. The burger was very plain and the side salad tasted dirty like the greens weren't washed. The next morning we decided to try it again and I decided to go with the pancakes which were incredibly small, child size small, and were super mushy on the inside. Also very overpriced. I hope they stay in business for the sake of an all vegan restaurant being around, but they need to step up their customer service and food quality.

Lots of potential - Edit
I was in town for a couple of nights and really excited to see that there was a fully vegan cafe in South Lake Tahoe, just minutes from where we were staying! Unfortunately, both my friend and I left disappointed. We were not greeted upon arrival, and when I did make my way to the counter to order the staff were not friendly and did not even ask "how are you today?". I ordered the nachos and choc-chip pancakes and my friend ordered the regular pancakes. All of the food was served on paper plates, with plastic cutlery and the serving sizes were very small. The food was relatively good, but not worth the money. The menu sounds amazing here, and I think the cafe has a lot of potential, but there are a few things that need to be worked on.

Cute little vegan spot - Edit
Cute little vegan spot with lots of raw options. Had the Maca Mocha which was tasty and reminded me of a hot chocolate with some extra zest. I really enjoyed the blueberry lavender muffin - super interesting. Tried a few of the raw desserts, ask for the most popular as those were the best.

Fantastic Vegan Nachos in Tahoe! - Edit
IF YOU COME HERE, GET THE BLISSED OUT NACHOS!!! In Tahoe for vacation. Stumbled onto this place and was so excited to find a vegan restaurant, even though many places in the area note which options are vegan on their menus. (Always great to support small local vegan businesses!) The nachos were amazing. Also enjoyed a smoothie and a Cajun burger. Staff was extremely friendly!! If I'm ever in the area again, I'll definitely be coming back.

Want to support but - Edit
In town crewing and pacing the #tahoe200 and wanted to support small businesses. Had the pancakes and they were made to order and tasted good.
Read moreBut I wasn't greeted when I came in and was difficult to even order despite being the only one there.
I owned an alternative record store so I get the more laid back cool vibe but I was basically ignored the entire time I was here.
Besides a brief conversation on there not being free wifi as advertised on this app, I felt ignored.
So I ate my $10 pancakes and left without acknowledgement.

Cute little cafe - Edit
This place has a cute, cozy vibe. There are a lot of different things to eat, including breakfast, sandwiches, burgers, and smoothies. Only downside is that it is a little pricey, but I guess it's worth it because it is all organic and vegan. The avo sandwich was 10/10 amazing!

Great little Vegan Cafe - Edit
Found this place on Happy Cow when spend in the day hiking in Lake Tahoe. The staff was great, Sandy the owner and the other young lady working (her name escapes me) were absolutely charming. The Blissed out Nachos were amazing (the menu said blue corn chips but there were not). Also had the Cajun sandwich which is really spicy by oh so good! Topped off with dandelion cinnamon tea. I would highly recommend anyone stopping by if you are in the area. Price was a little high it not horrible. Service took a little while but we didn't mind. My non-vegan friend had the same thing as me and loved it.
