Expensive, simple, but good - Edit
They are pricey and the only all vegan place for a while so I appreciate them. Cute spot and outdoor area. The quiche wasn’t at all quiche-like but it wasn’t bad if you like grits/oatmeal type of vibe. I like the chili and the tomato bisque soup. Their chili cheese nachos were also delicious because they made the cashew cream really well.

Sloppy Joes - Edit
Only vegan place around. Good variety of dishes and drinks. The sloppy Joe biscuit was a very unique dish - the blend of biscuit, shredded carrot with Mexican sauce and cinnamon apples worked surprisingly well.
Read moreI also had the golden milk to drink (added marshmallows to it for fun). It tasted too much of turmeric tbh, was hoping for more of the other ingredients.
Place looks cute outside. A little pricey

Good food - Edit
The food is super yummy. But I feel like the restaurant is kind of dirty. The service is slow too. I’m disappointed that this is the only all vegan restaurant in South Lake. I’d rather eat at a restaurant with vegan options.

Slow service, high cost, small portions - Edit
I think this place has been affected by COVID for service. The exterior is really cute, it wasn't too difficult to find. It is completely non-contact, so you cannot go in nor talk to anybody face-to-face, it is just through speaker phone. You can order online. The avocado toast was pretty good. I had a double portion of avocado on the toast, it had a ton of hemp seeds on it, so that wasn't bad. However, it took about an hour to get our mail, 10 minutes past the time that said it would be done. Ended up costing us about $40. I would have liked to have seen this place prior COVID.

The real deal and then some! - Edit
This is a cozy little place, packed nice and tightly with all kinds of desserts, drink varieties, even a sundry store for shampoo and house cleaners and all that stuff. They love their homemade cashew cheese which they put in so many of their offerings. The menu is pretty extensive, and the owners daughter is running the kitchen and making and serving the food. I like that everything is Whole Foods, no processed food, The force is our large, and it’s not the cheapest but you get what you pay for. It’s a perfect breakfast or lunch spot. The veggie patty is so tasty and the best I’ve had. The nachos are to die for, get them as an appetizer!

Stopped by for dessert - Edit
The place is super cute. I was there right before they closed so I don't know how busy it gets. Also just stopped in for a smoothie so I'm not sure what the rest of their options are like. Got a mango Lassie and it basically just tasted like coconut.

Decent Food but Overpriced - Edit
Extensive menu of gluten free vegan options for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Lots of dessert options, teas, and smoothies as well. The food is prepared freshly, and it's pretty good.
Read moreOn the downside, the freshly prepared food is fairly slow. Thankfully they have a variety of books, magazines, and card games handy for the wait. The price was pretty high for the conservative portion sizes.

We had the cream cheese bagel, oatmeal and kids chocolate chip pancakes. The bagel was really good however the oatmeal is very bland and the pancakes are a joke when it comes to size, but they were very good. Also pretty expensive.

We really loved the atmosphere in this place, it was cozy and cute, and felt very homey. It’s definitely not gourmet vegan food, but it has that healthy full feeling that comes with natural whole food ingredients. I would come here again for sure!

Don't come here! - Edit
I was really excited to try this place, there aren't a lot of vegan restaurants in Tahoe. We entered to a magical place, filled with lights, decorative leaves and vegan products - a deceiving scenery for the bad service.
Read moreWE WAITED 50 MINUTES FOR OUR ORDER TO ARRIVE! Every time we checked what's taking so long, the owner said they have a lot of orders, even though me, my family and an elderly couple were the only ones there. We didn't get any compensation or refund.
When the food finally arrived it wasn't even good! The chickpeas omlete didn't come with some veggies on the side. All of our dishes were unbalanced, didn't taste great and were highly expensive. I even had to pay the tip before getting my food, a tip the staff didn't deserve.
To conclude, don't come to Simple Bliss Cafe. I wish I could rate it 0 stars, but the app won't allow me because it's a vegan place.

Disappointing - Edit
Really wanted to support and like the only all-vegan establishment in South Lake Tahoe and to then tell everyone about it. Unfortunately the service was meh (no hello or welcome and you have to order at the till) and the food only palatable in addition to being expensive.
Read moreWe were really excited to try the vegan omelette with home-made cheese which turned out to be mush with tasteless cream on top, and the pecan pancakes "inspired by childhood in the south" which was just small thin pancakes with bits of pecan and a blob of coconut oil on top?
To be honest we struggled to finish it and wished we would have spent $50 elsewhere (ended having lunch quite soon after because we were still hungry, and paid half the price for that). All the dishes and cutlery were also disposable which made it all feel really cheap in addition to not being very eco-friendly.
Unfortunately I couldn't recommend this place to anyone but I hope it improves and manages to stay open.
Pros: Cute decor , All vegan!, Nice but overpriced drinks
Cons: Disappointing food , Non-existent customer service , Expensive

Great food if you can see past the hit or miss service - Edit
We eat here regularly and love the food. This is actually the restaurant that confirmed we could eschew cheese and be perfectly happy. Their quinoa nachos are literally one of the best things on the planet. That being said, they are not particularly accommodating. E.G. I was there with my sister and incredibly picky nephew yesterday and they wouldn't even make him toast because it is on the breakfast menu. Toast? Is that going out of your way? Really? Anyway, if you are into the items as they appear on the menu, which is easy for any vegan, (and if you're not in a big hurry) definitely check them out. If you have a picky non-vegan eater in your party, go somewhere else. (Or eat the non-vegan as an appetizer ;-/)

Just wow - Edit
The cafe itself is absolutely adorable, and you can tell that the owner is clearly rooted in veganism and the planet/health all together. The staff was so sweet and helpful. We ordered the pecan pancakes, a bagel with cream cheese, and the chickpea omelette. The portions are very generous. We left here stuffed! The kids pancakes were plenty for us! The cream cheese here is the owners recipe and by far, the best I've ever had. I bought some to bring home with me. They sell a lot of their own products that they put in their food which was so cool. Love the diversity of the menu, and will definitely be coming back to try more. The juices here are so tasty as well!!

Very Disappointing - Edit
Besides deciding to eat here today, my next biggest regret is not taking pictures of the food that was served to us, so that I could back up this review with solid proof. I've been to Simple Bliss a handful of times over the last 5 years. Although I never had a fantastic experience with the service, or the food, I continued to dine here, to support the local vegan cafe because I am also a Vegan Chef and like to support small-business. Here is my review after today's visit.
Read moreThe Owner was unfriendly when taking our order, not attempting to smile, or welcome us. Also, when I kindly suggested to expand the restaurant's Google criteria so that vegetarians would also discover it, she condescendingly replied, "I hope anyone searching would type in vegan." Well, I typed in vegetarian and Simple Bliss didn't appear.
The food was over-priced for the size and quality. We paid $50 for 2 beverages, 4 small pancakes with chocolate chips, 4 teeny-tiny pancakes and a chickpea hash. Plus, I tipped them $6.00, which I later regretted.
I ordered the Chickpea Hash and kids original pancakes. I was given four, 50 cent-sized pancakes that were soggy in the middle, a tiny peice of cantelope and 2 blueberries. When I took them to the girl who prepared them, she said, "They're supposed to be soft. If you do not like them, I can't help that." I gave them back to her, refusing to eat them. Soggy and soft are two different things. I wish I made her taste them. She clearly has no conern for the customer's experience. My boyfriend's pancakes were also soggy, but he was too hungry to return them and wait another 25 mins to get new ones.
It was unbelievable that it took 20-25 mins to prepare and serve a few uncooked super thin pancakes and mushy chickpeas with veggies. Overall, it was a bad experience. I hope they get a better attitude and receive this feedback with humility, and make the necessary improvements.
Pros: Local, Cozy, Vegan
Cons: Uncooked food, Rude service, Expensive

Not that great unfortunately - Edit
I got a cake for my boyfriend’s birthday. It was really expensive for the size, and they said they wouldnt write happy birthday on it “because it would use ingredients they dont want to use”. Guess they havent figured out vegan icing??
Read moreBut they said they would decorate with berries, and I asked for lots of berries. They basically said no that they were gonna do what they wanted and make it “really pretty.” The cake had like 2 strawberries and 2 raspberries on it and was an undecorated soggy mess that got worse in the few hours between picking it up and serving it (refrigerated it in the interim cause the glaze was already dissolving and dripping off the cake).
I personally did not like the taste and found it too dense, but the guests all did enjoy it, though.
Pros: Vegan, Gluten free options
Cons: Pricey, Not that delicious or beautiful, Overly restrictive on ingredients

Sorry, but even though it's all vegan it disappointed on all levels. The service was extremely slow, the food was uninspiring and way expensive for the meager portions. We live in Tahoe and won't go back. There are other places in town that try a lot harder to earn your business
