Quality vegan food - Edit
High quality vegan food in a rustic and comfortable restaurant. Huge menu including pizza, pasta and 3d printed ‘meat’ and ‘fish’. Big portions, especially desert! Friendly service.

Millor restaurant de Roma - Edit
Hem vingut a sopar i era realment bo. El seità ens ha sorprès gratament, també ho ha fet el moscardini. S'ha de reservar per tenir taula! El servei correcte i fins i tot hem parlat amb el propietari.

Vegan Roman Delicious Cuisine in Rome, Italy - Edit
A must go for every Vegan and non-vegan in town. This place is definitely a status symbol of delicious and cruelty-free food, passion, commitment, hard work and Roman tradition. You have to book a table here if you're in Roma. Full stop. Even just to taste their amazing tiramisù. Which is by far the most delicious I've ever eaten. It beats the non-vegan version without any doubt. But I would actually recommend you to try each and every one of their dishes. They're just exceptional. And all Vegan. Just be aware that if you don't usually eat much, their portions are quite large. So it could be a smart thing to share some in order to try more dishes and still be able to stand up.
Read moreI also have to mention the Staff is nice and friendly and the restaurant is located 5 minutes walking distance form Roma Termini railway station, but in a quiet calm area. So it's a plus for anyone visiting.
For anyone wondering, I am obviously going to book a table next time I'll be in Rome. Highly recommended.
Pros: Genuinely delicious food and a lot of variety, Near the railway station, Very nice and professional Staff

Super consigliato!

Fantastic food and great service! - Edit
My wife and I ate there for dinner and had the most wonderful experience ever. We ordered the pasta carbonara and the seitan dish with the red wine reduction. We thoroughly enjoyed both. I only wish we could’ve gone back for another meal before leaving Rome.

I would highly recommend Rifugio Roman to anyone, and especially those who might feel they are missing out on the true Italian food experience without harm.

Sad - Edit
Wanted to like this but the spaghetti alla carbonara was awful- tasted like someone blended scrambled eggs and poured on pasta and we couldnt eat it. The waitstaff barely came by us so had to find them and tell them it was bad and they were not happy with us. They finally let us switch and the sub was ok (cannelloni).

Rushed, Disappointed and upsets me to write this review - Edit
My wife and I decided to have our last meal in Rome at a restaurant where we have had incredible food before but I'm going to be completely honest of my experience this time.
Read moreWe booked a table for 2.45pm which gives you a 2 hour time slot before the table needs to be turned. We were greeted by the lovely wait staff and shown to our seat. Really great to see a vegan restaurant so full.
The rose wine was delicious but apart from that, it went downhill from there.
I had the artichoke bruschetta and my wife had the mushroom one. Cue the disappointment, it was bland , under seasoned and generally had no flavour (cold). Literally as we finished our bland and cold starter the main came as soon the starter plates were lifted. Set in front of me was the seitan with the Porcini mushrooms and baked potatoes, which i was so looking forward to.
Again cold and lacked any flavour, by this time I'd had enough and sent it back. My wife's pasta was delicious and hot. I looked at the time and we had been sat for 25 minutes. So much for allowing a 2 hour time frame. Everything just felt rushed. The staff were apologetic and made me a fresh dish of the same ilk. When it arrived it tasted amazing and was hot, so why couldn't I have had it this way the first time round.
Due to it being our last day, I ordered the Tiramisu for desert but lacked that incredible alcohol kick that you expect from it, having a nonna who made the booziest of deserts, I was again left disappointed with no amaretto in sight. We had finished our whole meal in less than an hour.
For a restaurant I love with all my heart, I am so upset that they are more concerned with turning tables than providing the great quality food they have been renowned for.
RIFUGIO you have broken my heart

Cucina tipica e ambiente rustico - Edit
Cucina tipica romana completamente vegetale. Porzioni super abbondanti e prezzi normali. Personale molto cordiale e atmosfera tipica da osteria. Prenotare assolutamente perché il locale non è tanto grande ed è sempre pieno.

So good we went twice during our visit! - Edit
This place was one of my favorite restaurants in Rome! It was small and intimate, with delicious, innovative, and fresh options. A must if you are vegan (or not!) and want to enjoy a modern take on traditional recipes.

We arrived and were told no tables were available the entire day without a reservation. Because we had traveled a bit far by taxi, we asked for a takeaway order and they obliged.

There really isn't anything to critique about the three pasta dishes we had the opportunity to try. All of them were incredibly tasty and probably the best food we had during our trip to Rome.

Nice place - Edit
I was there 3 times, because it really is a nice place wirth lots of choices. My personal highlight here were their pizza dough and vegan cheese on their pizza. My favorite was the pizza capricciosa. Also recommend their scarola.
Read moreFirst you need to male a reservation, especially if you want to go there for dinner. I recommend to go at brunch time since it is not that busy then. You scan a QR Code to get to the menu, which is quite a lot and you have to click on every meal for a description. Some of these meals are quite unusual and can seem weird. The tiramisu was okay but i had better in rome.

Sehr leckeres Essen, freundliche Bedienung. Wir hatten die cacio e Pepe, sehr große Portion, die aber seltsamerweise etwas nach Kokos schmeckte. Ich hatte einen insalata mista und die Artischocken topinambur Lasagne, die war wirklich sehr lecker 😊
