Halifax's first plant based butcher shop open first week of January 2019. Sells different kinds of vegan meats and vegan cheezes. Special charcuterie trays are available for order. Has stools overlooking the street plus outdoor sidewalk patio. Hosts monthly brunch and meals - check webpage for schedule. Open Tue-Thu 10:00am-7:00pm, Fri-Sat 10:00am-9:00pm, Sun 11:00am-6:00pm.

Nothing short of Awe-mazing! - Edit
What a delight to find this hidden gem. The menu options are varied and interesting, making you want to try everything. The recipes are definitely created by a real pro. Complex flavors that tantalize your palate, making you want to come back again and again. The grilled cheese was amazing, donair way better than the "real thing", and the burrito special was beyond compare! Last but not least, the oreo cookie ice cream sandwich was heavenly, and I should mention the coffee is superb. The only problem is its popularity, making it sometimes hard to find a seat. Hopefully, they will expand and continue to thrive in Halifax.

The food at Real Fake Meats was really good and the options plentiful. It's really nice to have a tasty vegan Halifax donair in Halifax. The only bummer is that there's only a small counter for eating at, so it's definitely a better spot for grabbing a quick lunch than for dinner.

This is the best vegan comfort food I ever tasted. I only wish I had more time in Halifax to keep coming back. Staff are super friendly. Pro tip, get the vegan poutine and vegan grilled cheese with bacon and then mop up the vegan gravy with the sandwich afterwards. Taste bud heaven

They meats and cheeses and sauces are plentiful options. Some I like better than others but that's just personal taste. If you haven't tried this, you're missing out.

Popcorn Chick'n Poutine was on special the first time I visited, and it was great: thin fries and popcorn chick'n covered in gravy, cheeze cubes and green onions. The small size was plenty for me! I bought dill havarti cheeze artichoke dip and an Oreo bar to take away. The Oreo bar was scrumptious. Next time, I had the famous Halifax donair, vegan of course, stuffed with sliced (real fake) meat, chopped tomatoes and onions. And a good chocolaty cupcake. Good place for vegan “comfort food.”

Perfect Spot for Casual Lunch - Edit
Real Fake Meats has a ton or different sandwiches such as Grilled Cheese and wraps (even veggie donairs) I recommend the dill harvarti grilled cheese and add bacon. All the meat and cheese is made in house and you can buy those products to take home as well. They usually have 1-2 sweet items as well to buy. I found the prices reasonable for eat in options, but the take home items are a bit pricey. Service is super friendly.

I've known Lauren for a few years now and have always been insanely impressed with her skills and talents as a chef. To have her open Halifax's first ever vegan butcher shop is a huge deal and she deserves so much success.

I've tried many different offerings from them and absolutely everything is incredible. The meats are moist, have awesome texture and taste! The cheeses much the same.
