Dirty and no AC - Edit
The place had no customers but I say a half of the tables were not even wiped and lots of food pieces. There were lots of food on the floor also. It was a hot day and we expected to eat in cool place with AC, but no AC. The food was fine but we didn't want to spend much time. Asked for to go box which I had to ask another one cause it had some brown stuff on it. I had to wonder how the kitchen looked like.

Mediocre at Best - Edit
Very underwhelming, I got the sampler platter and it was barely edible. Foodie first vegan second this place was incredibly disappointing for his high rating as it has. didn’t even want to try the cheesecake.

So good!! - Edit
I recently tried the tofu Poké at Peace Cafe, and it was absolutely delicious and so filling! I'm grateful for such an amazing all-vegan food place with such a wide variety of wonderful options. Despite it being pretty busy when we were there, right at lunchtime, we still got our meals in a reasonable 15 minutes. Thank you for providing a great lunch and an all-vegan menu that's truly appreciated!

Awesome mom pop store! - Edit
Excellent food overall. Great choice of desserts as well! Great service.
Read moreThe tofu katsu was better than tempeh but that could be just preference. Both were quite oily though and again that’s the nature of the dish.
The noodle was fabulous!

So good - Edit
I had the katsu curry plate and my husband had the katsu sandwich. The portions were big and it was so delicious that we came back a second time. Not impressed that they charge $1 for a cup of tap water.

Great katsu; everything else ok - Edit
We went here twice on our trip. First time got the tofu/tempeh katsu and the yakisoba noodle. The katsu was excellent; the yakisoba was a bit bland. The next day we got the BLT and the tofu scramble. Tofu scramble was a generous portion but not so flavorful. BLT was alright but the homemade bbq sauce just tastes like ketchup. Portions are pretty generous and the food feels clean and healthy. Just not so flavorful. And they charge for water.

Katsu plate - Edit
The katsu plate here is delicious. I recommend getting it with tempeh. It was pretty busy when I was in, but if you take your food to go, there's a great park nearby. I didn't like the mochi cake all that much, but I'm definitely going to come back to try more from Peace Cafe!

Amazing Spot! - Edit
We are visiting Honolulu and this restaurant was recommended to us many times! The area is a bit sketchy but the restaurant inside is very warm and peaceful. We got Heart & Seoul, Haina Sandwich and the Katsu Plate. If you come here PLEASE get something with Katsu in it!! it is amazing. I also loved the tofu and the peanut sauce on the sandwich. Make sure to bring your own water bottle as water is $1. We also got the pumpkin cheesecake which was good!

Solid food in Waikiki - Edit
We got the Yakisoba, a sandwich, and potato croquette (special). We thought all the food was solid, but regretted not getting the sampler. It would be nice to try all this place had to offer! Disappointed that they charged us for two cups of water! Would definitely recommend bringing your own water. Slightly confusing menu as sandwich items can be made as burrito, or over rice, or over greens - but that isn’t super clear.

There was a huge choice of salads and sandwiches, as well as some desserts and drinks. I had a yogini salad which was a huge portion, and an alkaline water. The lady who served me was really friendly and chatty.

10/10 across all fronts! - Edit
After 8 years of regularly going to Peace Cafe, I can attest it is the hill to die on for vegan food!! Across all fronts: service, quality food, full vegan menu availability, atmosphere it’s 10/10 in my books! Across they years I’ve tried quite a few of their dishes but theres a few I keep going back for: the katsu plate katsu curry, peace plate, yogini, and peace sampler are my go-tos - with their tempeh katsu being my all time fave! They also offer rotating specials and a variety of other sandwiches and desserts which I love! Parking can be tricky but it’s so worth it!

Unique dishes, so-so taste, big no no with alkaline water BS - Edit
Was very excited to see a fully vegan tempeh katsu curry, my favorite dish. It was passable; the tempeh katsu was excellent but the curry itself was so so, and the rice was too wet and a bit mushy. Salad a bit underdressed. Several other awesome looking Asian dishes I'd love to try, such as a katsu mapo tofu.
Read moreThey have many signs saying they don't serve tap water as it "oxidizes the body and is unsafe", which is not only complete BS and unsupported by evidence, but also contributes to the disinformation supporting the capitalistic scam of selling people alkaline water when it really doesn't do anything. Cut that [censored] out.

Best food I’ve tried in Hawaii - Edit
We got the katsu curry, katsu mapo tofu, katsu sandwich, and hanoi sandwich. The hanoi sandwich was my absolute favorite! The katsu tofu was also delicious in my opinion, my partner didn’t care for the amount of breading the tofu had though. The curry and mapo tofu were also flavored really well

No Peace Cafe - Edit
I ordered the Popeye sandwich, which is fried tofu and spinach with miso tahini paste, lettuce, cucumbers, tomatoes, clover sprouts, and homemade aioli. The sandwich was good, but the experience was not. Not only did we wait a long time for our food, but the owner's (?) child was playing a video game so loudly it sounded like we were in a casino. The cafe promotes alkaline water and refuses to serve tap water. I was also disappointed the food is wrapped to go even if you're dining in.
