Good food, vegan to demand - Edit
The restaurant is a bit hidden in a calm street but very cosy and nice, the food is good and almost everything can be made vegan ! The owner speaks English and knows about vegan food, no need for tiedous explainations on what you eat and what you don't.

To this is a lovely little family owned restaurant that deserve your custom. I had a tasty pad Thai that came with nuts and a large chunk of watermelon. I usually only eat at only vegetarian restaurants but everything on this menu can be vegetarian except the curry. Do support!

Good authentic Thai food - Edit
Went here several times during our stay in Chiang Rai as it is one of few places that are open late. Everything on the menu can be made vegan except the curries. Good, simple thai food and friendly service.

Despite advertising itself as a vegetarian restaurant, they really only offer meat dishes which they will serve without the meat if you request the vegetarian option. A bit overpriced and perfunctory service.

The waiter seemed rude and impatient and I didn’t feel welcome. Everything had meat in it but you could ask to take it out but I don’t know if the noodles were cooked in animal broth(?) and I asked for no egg in my pad Thai (once in English and again in Thai) and he said okay but then brought it out with egg in it. I had to send it back and I felt awful. As we left he was really polite though, so I don’t really know what to think. The food was fairly nice in the end, although a little more expensive than regular Thai restaurants.

It is called PAD THAI restaurant but it has a FULL menu of pretty much all your favourite Thai dishes...
This place is actually #4 rated restaurant on tripadvisor for Chiang Rai! When you see it it will surprise you as it is a tiny family setup run by a lovely old couple.
BUT THE FOOD IS OUTSTANDING!
Ive lived in Thailand 6 years and their vegetarian pad thai is hands down the best i have had!
You can ask for vegan versions of dishes too (as I did)...
They have wifi... speak ok english... serve beer... provide great service with peanuts when you sit down and complimentary watermelon at end of meal...
In short... a great place for a feed!
