Careful separation of veg dishes - Edit
They have separate cooking areas for veg dishes. We really enjoyed the food.

Clearly labeled 💚 but food needes flavor - Edit
All food is clearly labeled and have a bunch of options! Want to give 3 1/2 stars for this as only negative is the food needs a kick so the hot sauce on the table was my close friend.

Solid - Edit
Wanted something filling and not too unhealthy and it delivered. Sweet potato burrito was pretty basic with diced sweet potato and peppers in it but the sauce and guac added flavor and the rice and beans made the meal super filling-salad that came with the meal was an added bonus of veggies! Great option for vegans visiting Zion.

Best Black Bean Burger around! - Edit
Homemade, tasteful and a lot. I mean a very full board. Very cheerful staff. Eat here for sure. Very popular as well, so be prepared to wait a bit for a table.

Good selections for vegans - Edit
This place had clearly marked vegan options and indicated whether or not their selections could be made vegan or vegetarian. There were several to choose from including Mexican dishes, salads, and two different vegan burger options. Their guacamole and salsa were fresh made and delicious. Even the side salad had extra surprises like black olives and corn in it. The server was well aware of veganism and suggested oil and vinegar for the salad, as their house dressing had honey in it. One thing to be aware of, the sauce on the sweet potato burrito was a little too spicy for me, but adding the guacamole to it, made it perfect. I’m sure others would have enjoyed the heat more.

Tasty, full of veggies, quick! - Edit
I’ve had a lot of Mexican restaurant food that was bland when taking out the dairy items and not having substitutions, but Oscar’s food was very flavorful even without such substitutions. The veggie enchilada, beans, and rice were all very flavorful, as was the side salad that was included. It was a huge portion, especially with the included salad, so it’s not a big deal that you have to buy chips and salsa if desiring those (I was actually glad I didn’t buy them because it would’ve been too much food!). My partner and I loved how much veggies were in our meals.

Filling vegan food - Edit
I really appreciated the labelled vegan options on their menu! However, it seems they just removed the cheese/sour cream from their vegetarian dishes without replacing it with a vegan alternative (the sweet potato burrito was a bit dry...). Servings (including wine pours) are very generous and prices are reasonable. They have a cute heated outdoor patio. Service was friendly, fast, and efficient even on a busy night.

Great service - Edit
At least 5-6 vegan options. I had the black bean salad and just omitted the sour cream. Excellent flavor with the nice pistachios addition.

Great Vegan-Friendly Cafe near Zion - Edit
Actually quite a few vegan options, food is good and the portions are generous, and the atmosphere and service are great. Frankly, lots to love here, especially after a long day of hiking in Zion.

Loveed this place! - Edit
This is a very popular place and it’s got a friendly casual vibe with all outdoor covered seating. Our server was very knowledgeable about the vegan options — they had plenty to choose from. She let us know the green sauce has honey in it. We ordered the black bean and avocado salad and the vegan burrito. Both excellent and HUGE. Would go back here.

A few clearly marked options - Edit
Oscar’s was quick to seat us (5 mins). Basically you can get a veggie burrito or a mushroom sandwich as the vegan options. All is clearly marked. As someone else mentioned the salad dressing has honey, which my waitress told me when I ordered. Huge portions

Miserable for vegan breakfast - Edit
Avoid for breakfast if you can. A couple things can be made vegan minus multiple ingredients, and the result ain’t great. No labeling at all on the breakfast menu.
Read moreYour burrito will be down three ingredients but ask for soy with your coffee and you’ll be charged for a “side.”
The guac on my burrito was forgotten and not really acknowledged when I asked for it.

Vegan options in Springdale! - Edit
The tiny town of Springdale, while quaint, doesn't really offer too many dining options. We went to Oscar's on the recommendation of our tour guide, who is a regular. Fun vibe, great service, and packed. We had a 15 min wait. The best part is they have 5-6 vegan options and generous portions. Almost everyone walks out with leftovers. The beer is also huge! I ordered the sweet potato burrito plate and it was pretty good, especially the rice. Came with a fresh house side salad, but the dressing was too tart and could use some balance. Main food came nice and hot to the table and within a reasonable time. Would dine there again. 👍🏽

How desperate are you? - Edit
If you’re vegan, you have to be pretty desperate. This place lists “vegan options” which essentially amounts to to removing 90% of the dish. I enjoyed the pickle that came with the Impossible Burger on a semi-fresh bun. Blech. This place sucks.

Delicious dinner!! - Edit
We got carry out from Oscar’s and it was so good! I had the sweet potato burrito, made vegan. It came with rice and beans, also vegan, and a side salad. The woman who took our order was extremely helpful and doubled checked everything to make sure it was vegan. We also had chips, salsa and guac and they were great too. Overall, super delicious and a ton of food!

Great post-hike - Edit
Ended up coming here 3 times during our stay in Zion because it seemed like one of the best vegan dinner options in the area. We were looking to load up on kcals post-hike and got just that. (They also have vegan salads if that is more of your vibe.) Location is convenient and the staff is very friendly.
Read moreTaking off a star because we found that not all staff were 100% knowledgeable about the menu. They're aware of the basics (no queso, no sour cream) but not everyone was aware of "hidden" ingredients. We came to learn about each note below during different visits, from different waiters.
Important Notes:
• Their signature salad dressing ("Oscar's Dill Vinaigrette") has honey in it. If you order a burrito, the side salad that comes with it will have this dressing. Most of theie entree salads use this dressing as well. We were told we could sub oil vinegar or guac salsa.
• The buns for the burgers/sandwiches supposedly have milk and egg. You can sub in a sourdough.
I'd recommend this restaurant to a hungry hiker who is aware of the above restrictions. I tried the nachos another reviewer recommended (was huge), the sweet potato burrito, the impossible burger, the black bean guac salad, and the portobello avocado sandwich.
Pros: Large vegan portions!, Can sub sweet potato fries free of charge!, Spicy jalapenos
Cons: Not all staff is knowledgeable, Proteins are limited to impossible burger + beans

Bro, order the nachos without cheese and add rice and portobello mushroom. They need to add vegan items like it to the menu, and tell you what's vegan and not. But it's always friendly and good service here.

best food in Springdale - Edit
Had 4 nights in Zion and this was our last dinner in Springdale, sad that it took us so long to get here bc we probably would have eaten here every night. They turn those tables so fast, don’t be nervous by the amount of people waiting. They run an efficient, well oiled machine here, service is fast, friendly, and the food is amazing. Portions are HUGE. enjoy😄
