Top notch - Edit
Lucky to have this delightful little eatery near to us so visit regularly. The atmosphere and ambience is lovely, service very good but it’s the food that’s exceptional. Amazing, inventive, colourful and delicious choices. They change menu with new exciting dishes regularly. Currently the pulled pork pancakes are really exceptional. The selection of cakes is fantastic.

Offbeet - Edit
I’d eaten at their former New Forest venue—which has now sadly closed—so I already knew their food was excellent. I’ve been wanting to visit for a while, and finally found myself in the area, so popped in. The menu offers a varied and inventive selection of dishes. My first choice had sold out, but the staff recommended the taco dish, and it was fantastic. The flavours were sublime; if it wouldn’t have been rude, I’d have happily licked the plate!
Read moreThis is a place to come when you have time to enjoy freshly prepared food. It’s not fast food, so expect a little wait. There’s also a good selection of drinks and cakes if you’re after something lighter.
On‑street parking outside (free, time‑limited). Seating across two levels, no steps to ground floor. Dog‑friendly.

Interesting menu - Edit
Menu is not full of processed, predictable food. Changes every 3 months apparently, and they also do something like supper clubs. Came recommended to me, so I'm passing it on!

Gourmet Delicious Food - Edit
We thankfully were able to try this place during our travels. The food was very flavorful and delicious. I think it may be one of the best meals I have ever had as a vegan of 25 years

Our first visit - Edit
The staff are incredibly friendly and so accommodating - my stepson doesn't do well with spice, and between FOH and the chefs, they adjusted one of the dishes (Tropic Thunder Croissant) accordingly and he absolutely loved it...well we all loved the food, but my stepson can be quite fussy, so pleasing him is no small feat 😅
Read moreThis all happened so smoothly, we didn't feel like a burden or nuisance at all, something I'm really appreciative of as a big family (including children with varying needs) who enjoys dining out.
My husband and I ordered the Seoul Food Croissant with hash browns... their hash browns are basically thousand layered potatoes and insanely good!
Our other children ordered pancakes and were very happy.
It was also our first time eating at Offbeat. We had been meaning to visit for some time but decided to do so after seeing the owners recent fundraiser.
We want to support small vegan businesses as much as possible.
We really enjoyed the minimalist interiors, all the seating areas felt cosy but fresh. My other stepson commented on the lampshades and giant wreath in particular, he mentioned how it felt like eating in an artists' home.
The small shop by the entrance was a delight to peruse and I purchased a few gifts for my friends birthday.
Thank you for welcoming us! We hope to visit again soon to eat some more delights 😍

My favourite! - Edit
One of my favourite vegan cafes anywhere! Everything is made from scratch and every dish is so thoughtful, creative and unique. The menu changes very often, so there's always a reason to come back and discover something new. It's such a rare find! I think places like this should be the prototype for vegan cafes everywhere. Portsmouth is incredibly lucky to have it!

Such good food - Edit
We came as four vegans who love food and had a range of options and tried lots of different bits and loved it all - we all brought extra cake and deli bits to take home. My fav was the Seoul street dosa with extra hot honey and avocado.

Beautiful unique dishes with lots of flavour - Edit
I really love this place, the dishes are really well thought through and flavoursome, some really special food here. Stunning too, gorgeous laid back style within and great to see the place busy. We went to Southsea for the weekend and went here both days, and we’ll certainly be back asap, thank you Offbeet! X

Tasty healthy vegan grub - Edit
This is the place you go when you want exceedingly tasty food that’s also nourishing and healthy. As someone who eats whole food as much as possible, Offbeet never disappoints. I always feel satisfied but never bloated and sickly in the same way you might eating at a more junk-food oriented place. Thought be aware, their cakes are as tempting as they are delicious! And they always rotate the cakes that they sell so there’ll be something different on each visit. The menu also changes seasonally, encouraging repeat visits. Offbeet is a must-visit for vegans in Portsmouth.

As the title suggests Offbeet is one of my regular favourites to eat. They are always friendly and the food is impeccable. The decor is beautiful and the vibe is lovely. The cakes are incredible and often pop in just to get some of them if I’m in the area.

Best vegan dog menu ever! - Edit
We love finding great places to eat, and this is definitely one of them. Our dog, however, never has such a brilliant experience. Here, the dog menu is amazing. He had a main course, a pudding and a pupcup and was an extremely happy boy. Our food too was also fantastic. Well worth a visit.

Incredible food clearly made with love - Edit
The atmosphere and vibe of the cafe is very laid back, and the staff are warm. For our brunch, we had the stracciatella on sourdough and the smoked carrot hash stack. Both smashed it out of the park, it is clear that the chef if both extremely talented and passionate about his craft. We followed up with a cake and coffee, both of which were also top notch.

We got there 3 times out of the 4 days we spent in Portsmouth and every meal was a delight. We tried different breakfast options and lots of cakes and I think you can‘t order anything that isn‘t yummy. Also: they have a dog menu and pup cakes ❤️

Nice Enough - Edit
My friend was really excited to bring me here so I was excited. The breakfast options were all a little too fancy for me, I would've preferred just a vegan full English. Most of them were some mock meat or fish, my pal went for the hash browns with salmon & I went for the shrimp tacos. The food looked great but the shrimp tacos used fake prawns which I've had in Chinese cuisine, they have no real taste & would've been better just using cauliflower or another vegetable. I had high hopes but was disappointed.

What an Amazing Find - Edit
So glad I did a search on Happy Cow and found this wonderful cafe. Hubby and I had booked a coach trip for the day from Oxfordshire and once we were dropped off we headed straight for brunch at Offbeet. The moment we walked through the door it was so inviting, with lovely neutral decor and nicely placed seating, and a lovely welcome from the staff. We chose to sit outside in the little garden, which was so tranquil and beautifully planted. We love their ethos, in their words, 'where flavour, wellbeing and sustainability all come together'.
Read moreI'm annoyed that I forgot to take some photos, but we had the Japanese inspired omelette and hash brown and carrot 'salmon' stack to share (I preferred the omelette for the flavours). Would have loved to try one of the many cakes/pastries, but we were trying to be good.
We will definitely be back to try other delicious things on the menu.

We saw on their socials that Offbeet were doing donuts for one day only. After about 90 seconds of deliberation we were in the car and making the hour-long drive down to Southsea. No regrets; they were amazing.
