Perfect café but... - Edit
Let me start by saying that this is probably the coziest café I've ever been to. It's beautifully designed and spread over three storeys. The top room with a terrace is just amazing - I could stay there the whole day.
Read moreThe food is definitely original, however if I'm being totally honest I wasn't wowed, especially by the Japanese mushroom sandwich. I think it was lacking some depth of flavour and perhaps some additional textures (crispy, crunchy etc.)
The desserts were nice but very sweet (chai cookie and blondie). The blackberry and pear cake was great - not dominated by sugar.
I would definitely come back to try the rest of the items on the menu.
I had a matcha latte which was delicious!

Seems cozy indeed. I hope they can improve their recipes to be more balanced. 😌

Beautiful unique dishes with lots of flavour - Edit
I really love this place, the dishes are really well thought through and flavoursome, some really special food here. Stunning too, gorgeous laid back style within and great to see the place busy. We went to Southsea for the weekend and went here both days, and we’ll certainly be back asap, thank you Offbeet! X

Tasty healthy vegan grub - Edit
This is the place you go when you want exceedingly tasty food that’s also nourishing and healthy. As someone who eats whole food as much as possible, Offbeet never disappoints. I always feel satisfied but never bloated and sickly in the same way you might eating at a more junk-food oriented place. Thought be aware, their cakes are as tempting as they are delicious! And they always rotate the cakes that they sell so there’ll be something different on each visit. The menu also changes seasonally, encouraging repeat visits. Offbeet is a must-visit for vegans in Portsmouth.

One of our regular spots - Edit
As the title suggests Offbeet is one of my regular favourites to eat. They are always friendly and the food is impeccable. The decor is beautiful and the vibe is lovely. The cakes are incredible and often pop in just to get some of them if I’m in the area.

Best vegan dog menu ever! - Edit
We love finding great places to eat, and this is definitely one of them. Our dog, however, never has such a brilliant experience. Here, the dog menu is amazing. He had a main course, a pudding and a pupcup and was an extremely happy boy. Our food too was also fantastic. Well worth a visit.

Incredible food clearly made with love - Edit
The atmosphere and vibe of the cafe is very laid back, and the staff are warm. For our brunch, we had the stracciatella on sourdough and the smoked carrot hash stack. Both smashed it out of the park, it is clear that the chef if both extremely talented and passionate about his craft. We followed up with a cake and coffee, both of which were also top notch.

What a lovely Place - Edit
We got there 3 times out of the 4 days we spent in Portsmouth and every meal was a delight. We tried different breakfast options and lots of cakes and I think you can‘t order anything that isn‘t yummy. Also: they have a dog menu and pup cakes ❤️

Nice Enough - Edit
My friend was really excited to bring me here so I was excited. The breakfast options were all a little too fancy for me, I would've preferred just a vegan full English. Most of them were some mock meat or fish, my pal went for the hash browns with salmon & I went for the shrimp tacos. The food looked great but the shrimp tacos used fake prawns which I've had in Chinese cuisine, they have no real taste & would've been better just using cauliflower or another vegetable. I had high hopes but was disappointed.

What an Amazing Find - Edit
So glad I did a search on Happy Cow and found this wonderful cafe. Hubby and I had booked a coach trip for the day from Oxfordshire and once we were dropped off we headed straight for brunch at Offbeet. The moment we walked through the door it was so inviting, with lovely neutral decor and nicely placed seating, and a lovely welcome from the staff. We chose to sit outside in the little garden, which was so tranquil and beautifully planted. We love their ethos, in their words, 'where flavour, wellbeing and sustainability all come together'.
Read moreI'm annoyed that I forgot to take some photos, but we had the Japanese inspired omelette and hash brown and carrot 'salmon' stack to share (I preferred the omelette for the flavours). Would have loved to try one of the many cakes/pastries, but we were trying to be good.
We will definitely be back to try other delicious things on the menu.

Amazing as always - Edit
We saw on their socials that Offbeet were doing donuts for one day only. After about 90 seconds of deliberation we were in the car and making the hour-long drive down to Southsea. No regrets; they were amazing.

Our lunch at Offbeet was amazing! Fresh, seasonal, homemade, and creative. I had hummus/squash/mushrooms on sourdough, my husband had tacos, and our 1 year old had a crumpet with a pumpkin seed scramble, which he absolutely loved (the staff were even kind enough to tell us how they made the scramble so we could try and replicate it at home for our baby)
