Amazing Gem - Edit
Everything from here was so delicious, the only thing I did not like was the dessert. It had such a great vibe and the menu was huge!

Spicy tempeh shawarma bowl - Edit
I like that this place offers a good variety of dishes, ranging from healthy salads and bowls to burgers, fries and mac & cheese. The spicy tempeh shawarma bowl I had was very tasty.

Some Winners, Some Losers - Edit
Let me start by saying the staff is very nice. It's always the same lady who helps us, I'm assuming she's the manager. As for the food, it's a hit or miss. I grew up eating here occasionally and always like the chicken fingers/tenders (still do!). I've come to realize that their burgers and sandwiches tend to be lackluster. The desserts is where they shine! The beignets are fantastic!!!!! They come out so warm and fluffy, and the hot chocolate dipping sauce just makes it perfection! A lot of their desserts in the case are delicious too. Oatmeal cream pies and the chocolate chip cookies are my go-to. The actual food is where they lose me. We always get the nachos, and while they're good flavor-wise, they always come out kind of cold. The chicken fingers (plain or buffalo) are always good, and they hit the nostalgia bone for me since I'd eat them as a kid. I will say, they do have some of my most favorite vegan mac and cheese. The burgers, sandwiches, and burritos are always kind of a letdown. I just wish they had more flavor, and they honestly taste the same for the most part regardless of what you order. Native Foods will be a place I continue to visit, albeit infrequently.

Absolutely delicious!! - Edit
I’ve been coming to this Native Foods location for many years when I’m in Palm Springs. Their food is delicious and creative — an amazing cacophony of wonderful flavors. The portions are huge - a real bang for the buck especially compared with some of their local competitors. And the service is great with the owners Misti and Sean being super friendly. Highly recommended!!

A local favorite - Edit
Native Foods is definitely one of my local favorites. There is something for everyone, and I can go here for lunch or dinner. It's also nice to run into vegan friends here. My favorites are the Twister Wrap (buffalo), the Munchwrap Supreme, the Ensalada Azteca, the BBQ Chicken Salad, and the Double Cheeseburger. Everyone who works here is super friendly.

A little underwhelming - Edit
I would go back to try more. What I had (twister wrap and potato salad) was bland and underwhelming. However, they have a big menu so I’m sure there’s something I would have liked better! Love that it’s fully vegan, thankfully has an outdoor seating area because inside was very noisy and full of children. So I guess it’s also a good place for families. Staff were great. Prices were fair.

Nice Experience at Native Foods - Edit
Prior to visiting this restaurant, I contacted them on Instagram to ask if any of their food items contained nuts. After receiving no response on Instagram, I decided to call the restaurant to inquire about menu items with nuts. The employee who answered the phone was friendly and informed me that most of the restaurant's dishes are nut free except for the Buddha bowl which contains almonds but those could be removed. The employee ended our phone call by telling me to make sure to let the person at the counter know about hubby's nut allergy since they have a protocol in place.
Read moreUpon arrive at Native Foods, hubby and I were warmly greeted by the restaurant employee. After hubby informed employee of his nut allergy, she took out a binder and as he asked questions about certain menu items, she was able to quickly telll him whether or not the item he wanted was safe for him to eat.
As I looked around the restaurant, I liked how bright it was as well as there being ample seating inside outside of the restuarant. While looking at their digital menu board, I appreciated that although I'm not gluten free, I appreciated that gluten free menu options were clearly noted on digital menu.
After getting confirmation that hubby food choices were safe, we ordered a regular order of chicken tenders with thousand island, ranch and chipotle sauces as an appetizer. For our main meals, I ordered gastropub burger with side of mac & cheese and hubby ordered BBQ brisket burger with side of seasoned fries. For dessert, I ordered and an oatmeal cream pie.
Our food arrived quickly, was flavorful, and delicious. Hubby and I were especially impressed by their chicken tenders since they were crispy, flaky, and we unlike any other vegan tenders we've tasted (like Gardein.) The sauces that we ordered with our tenders were tasty and I was happy that the chipotle sauce wasn't too hot.
My gastropub burger was fabulous and I especially liked the tomaot bacon spread that was on my burger while the mac n' cheese was cheesy but not overpowering in flavor. Hubby said his BBQ brisket burger had the perfect mix of BBQ sauce and tanginess by having coleslaw on the burger. After having the appetizer, our burgers, and sides, the oatmeal pie was the perfect way to end the meal since it was big enough to share and had big flavor.
After having visited restaurant and having such a good restaurant dining exerience, hubby and I are already planning out next visit to Native Foods soon.
Pros: Friendly Staff, Nut Friendly Menu
Cons: None

Tasty options - Edit
We ate at Native Foods multiple times during our visit to Palm Springs and enjoyed every meal. The menu has a nice mix of healthy options (salads and wraps) and pub-like foods (Buffalo chikin strips, Mac ‘n cheez). We tried a number of options and were always happy. There’s a nice patio out front as well as an indoors dining room, and both are comfortable. My favorite was the roasted sweet potato salad (seasonal).

We ordered the soul bowl and the brisket combo, which came with soup. Everything was superb and service was fast and friendly. Our dogs chilled under the table (they got bits of carrot and chicken and agreed the food was yummy).

Not the best - Edit
Visiting Palm Springs, I was excited to go here. I ordered the Orange Cauliflower with a rice combo. The rice seemed like it had been around for awhile. The Cauliflower was better but I have certainly eaten better Orange Cauliflower. If I go to NF again, I’ll try something different.

Great flavor profiles! - Edit
Ordered: Mac’n’Cheese, BBQ Brisket Burger, Poppin’ Jalapeño Burger, Steamed Kale and Lavender Lemonade.
Read moreStarted with the Poppin Jalapeño and the sweet crunchiness of the onions with the tangy cheesiness of the cheese mixed with the spiciness of the jalapeños were really great on the burger! They had tiny chopped cheese pieces chopped with jalapeño and at first it wasn’t spicy enough for me but at half way through the burger got a nice bite with bigger chunks of jalapeño, not sure if even jalapeños throughout would be better or having them as spicy surprises made it more exciting. The seasoning on the fries that came on the side were nice, I got a cup of mustard, buffalo and cheese sauce and each of them combined nicely with the seasoning on the fries but the cheese sauce would be my go to for the dipping (but they were flavorful on their own). The BBQ Brisket Burger was smoky and flavorful, there were pickles which gave a fresh sour crunch, the cabbage and carrots also added to the crunchy textures that I love, the onion rings on it gave a nice sweetness as contrast. The Mac n’ cheese is very creamy, I’d recommend getting it with the green onions, and it is so good it is gone before you know it. The lavender lemonade tasted fresh, not overly sweet and nice lavender flavor. The steamed kale makes me feel better about all of the fries I just ate 😆
I’ve gone to their locations in Chicago and here in Palm Springs, it always hits in the right way.

Our regular vegan go-to, good as usual - Edit
This trip, I ordered the Fully Loaded Breakfast Sandwich and the Cauliflower Dippers. I knew what to expect with the sandwich as I had ordered it before, but probably won't get the dippers again. For how much you get, it wasn't worth the price to me, even though they were good. I would have opted for another sandwich for the same price.

Fave spot in Palm Springs - Edit
Great variety of all vegan food. Love the specials and the regular menu. Excellent crispy shoe string fries that go great with their burgers and sandwiches. Also many other sides to choose from as well as bowls. The beignets were so light and delicious for dessert. Love their refreshing fruit drinks
