Home Made Food Still Exists In Restaurants - Edit
The food is pretty good, and different than what I usually eat. My kids really enjoy the food too. Choices Market (health food) built a store right next door for the obvious reason that this little Vegetarian Noodle House proved everyone wrong -- showing that there are indeed vegetarians and vegans outside of Vancouver. I believe this restaurant is the furthest vegetarian restaurant east of Vancouver in the GVRD area. Hurrah! As far as I can recall, I believe every item on the menu is vegan. They are not professional cooks and thus, service is slow therefore I recommend visiting outside busy hours. But, if you are used to the very very slow service of the typical Canadian restaurant (i.e. at least 45min until you see any food), then you won't even notice.
Read morePros: Near my home!!, Not driving 45km to Vancouver, Interesting tasty food
Cons: slow service, I have no idea how to get the by bus

Probably the best Vietnamese restaurant in Canada. - Edit
We've been to many Vietnamese restaurants across the country and they've all had some major flaws. Whether it's the bad food, the poor communication, or bad people.
Read moreThis place is different. Over the years, they've gained a good understanding of how to run a restaurant properly and improved significantly from before.
There are only a few restaurants that we deem worthy of repeat visits and this is one of them.
The only reason it's not a 5 star is because the chef is getting much older now and, understandably, started making more mistakes. They make it up to us once we notify them, so it's not too bad, but would be nice if we got things right initially.
I don't know what the future holds once the chef retires, but hopefully things will work out.

The red rice, spring rolls and fake shrimp were good - Edit
The food was affordable and all vegan. The owner was pretty nice and gave me an extra pudding since my order was really big and took kinda long.
Read moreI liked the spring rolls, fake shrimp, buns and red rice. I personally thought the other dishes were below average or disliked them and some ppl thought they were ok/average.
The red rice, fake shrimp, spring rolls and buns were way better than the other dishes I ordered imo
If the other dishes I ordered were as good as the 4 dishes I liked I would give the place 5 stars
I liked that the restaurant sold affordable only vegan items since vegan restaurants aren’t common in that area

Coming back for cake! - Edit
Had a bad day at work and decided to order takeout from Nam. Really friendly service.
Read moreGot combo #2, (pho veg rolls), chow mien and a slice of strawberry cake.
The pho was pretty good and had decent flavours, assembly at home was tough as I’m not good with eying portions lol. The veg rolls were great too.
The chow miens veg and tofu were good but the sauce the noodles were in wasn’t nice, tasty almost cheesy?
The best part of all of it was the cake. The strawberry cake they make there is amazing. It made me so happy to eat. Not overly sweet, tasted like real strawberries, and 6$ for a pretty big slice.
I will be coming back for cake 🍰!

Don't miss this one! - Edit
The food was amazing! We got the stuffed 🍆 and it knocked my socks off. We also got a couple of apps, steamed buns and fresh rolls, and they both make my mouth water just thinking about them now. I ordered the vermicelli bowl, and it was so fresh and light. Their portions are great and I couldn't even start the bowl there so it was boxed up with a free super cute sticker for my water bottle. Run by a mother and son, and with a nice atmosphere, it is my new fav in the Vancouver area.

Nice to have a vegan option in this location - Edit
I tried this place a couple times but honestly wasn’t the best food.
Read moreThe staff were attentive and knowledgeable so I really wanted to like it here - especially with their being limited exclusively vegan restaurants in Burnaby.
Unfortunately it was too much mock meat for my liking and lacked great flavour. The worst part was the dessert - plain, flavourless cheesecake was the only option on the menu.

All vegan; ok - Edit
Small cafe in a strip mall offering ALL vegan appies, mains, soups and a dessert.
Read moreI was expecting more given the great reviews but was left disappointed by some of the meals we chose.
The bao buns and rice rolls were great as appetizers and very well priced. For an entree, the stuffed eggplant was well done and super tasty.
We didn’t enjoy the sweet and sour chicken and lemongrass chicken at all. Both dishes were swimming in sauce and we didn’t enjoy the mock meats.
Overall, I would return to try some of the other dishes, avoiding v-meat dishes In favor of veggies.

Good to support the vegan community... but - Edit
We'd go back to support the vegan community, but it is basically just a pass.
Read moreThe vegan chicken dish #19 on the menu was actually pretty good. We didn't like the "beef" whatever soy product that was. And the dessert was OK but nothing to go out of your way for. We took it to go. Might be better in restaurant.
Pros: All Vegan, V-Chicken dish was actually really good
Cons: V-Beef dish wasn't great, Needed rice or noodles

Delicious big portions - Edit
I was trying for the first time Vietnamese pho and it was delicious. I'm crazy about salad rolls with peanut butter sauce... So yummy ! During covid takeout only. I hope I can come back here very soon to try something new and eat inside - however it's a really tiny local.

10/10 recommended - Edit
The staff were super friendly, the food was absolutely amazing! It is all authentic Vietnamese food, upon talking to the staff, we found out they are a lovely mother and son from Vietnam, they completely veganized all the classics I missed since going vegan. We had the Coconut Curry and the Pho as well as salad rolls and eggless rolls, everything was delicious! Very affordable, especially since you get large portions! 10/10 recommend!

Disappointing. - Edit
We ordered the spring rolls (but they gave us eggless rolls instead, they were nothing special), garlic beef (which are weird sponge balls), stir fried chow mein (overcooked and bland) and the sweet potato chicken curry (very coconuty which was nice but it was so thin it was basically a soup).

Great quality Vietnamese food! - Edit
Wow, I have been meaning to go here for ages to have vegan wonton soup and it has finally happened, the Wonton soup was great! Just the right textures that I have been craving. Loved the vegetables it came with - broccoli! Yum.
Read moreThe pan fried vegetable chowmein was delicious, damn I enjoyed those noodles and the veggies. Would go back for that again!
I was going to order a dish with sweet and sour and a BBQ dish but I love lemongrass and spice so it was a no brainer to go for the spicy lemongrass vegan "chicken". I enjoyed the flavours but it was not spicy even though there was a lot of chilli flakes and seeds, the peppers soaked up the flavours very well and so I enjoyed them more than the actual "chicken". The texture of the "chicken" was soft and airy which was interesting - can't decide whether it's good or bad....I think good overall.
All in all, really tasty and fresh, I wished that I had ordered rice to soak up all the left over sauce.
A little niggle would be that I don't like my mock meats imitating the "real" thing - ironic I know.
The waitress was like most of the reviews implied, a bit stern looking, but actually, we got talking to her and she's nice - she's passionate about her language and culture😄As my bf describes her, "cool and zen".
Went back again and had the ginger "beef", broccoli and "chicken" in black bean sauce, side of BBQ chicken and the spicy noodle soup.
Everything was great - the carrots and the radishes in the spicy noodle soup (although not spicy) gave me flashback of my mom's cooking, simply amazing (and I don't like cooked carrots).
The only thing that I was confused about was the BBQ "chicken" side dish - it was lovely battered "chicken" balls that came with sweet and chilli sauce in a pot...no BBQ sauce anywhere in sight so....not what I ordered but we enjoyed the balls.
The spicy sweet potato and "chicken" curry was great, lovely taste, loved the soft spuds and the protein, would recommend - it is on the sweeter side and not spicy for a palette reference.
The fried "fish" with ginger smelt legit, unfortunately the "skin" was made with seaweed which I don't eat anymore, but I did take a bite as I didn't want to be rude, I didn't like it. It wasn't bad, so try it out if you eat seaweed. Looooved the ginger sauce.
The grilled "pork" over rice was good. Came with vermicelli on top!
The Aubergine curry claypot was ok, the sweet potato and "chicken" curry is much better!

Big portions and delicious - Edit
The serving sizes here are quite big, so it’s a great place for group dinners with friends and family. The “chicken” they serve is one of my favourites and all the dishes that have it are delicious! The only downside is that service isn’t the best when it’s busy because the restaurant is only run by 2 people, but they are kind and love to talk about veganism!

Delicious - Edit
We’ve been here a couple times, and everything has been delicious. The most recent time we purchased the “chicken” curry and it was actually more like a soup, but unexpected but it was the best chicken curry I have ever had. Would recommend the vegetable crispy noodles. The ginger beef (#33) someone ordered and it looked amazing to!
