About:
I am a very inquisitive commonsense person; always seeking answers to questions I have; like to share the information I have found on topics of interest. I am open-minded and when I’m looking for information, I always dig deeper than the surface, beyond propaganda, paid-for research by those with vested interests, etc. I am very interested in natural health, good food, nature, outdoors, and basically trying to live as naturally as possible in today’s shitty corporate-ruled anti-nature human world. I am not interested in work work working my life away as my parents did only to help the rich become richer. Rather live a less fast paced life, slow down, spend time with my children, teach them, get to know them, and be... just, together. If that means I can't own a boat and SUV, so be it. I'll stick to gardening with my kids and trying my best to create a self-supporting lifestyle, even if I'm forced to live in the city, driving to nature

More About Me

Reasons why I prefer to eat vegetarian or vegan:

A simple study of human biology will show that humans are indeed herbivores, or more specifically, fruitivores. We are best suited to consuming fruit. I'd say that second to fruit, certain vegetation, leaves, nuts, etc. would come next, and so on to more hearty more difficult to digest plants, to the ones that need cooking in order to be eaten.

Here are some places I've been that I liked... and places that I would like to visit one day:

I haven't explored the world fully yet, but Japan was pretty awesome (minus the over population and the pollution and general lack of nature). Love to go on a vegan eating tour of Italy seeing the historic sites as well.

Some of my favorite veg*n foods include:

Well, lasagna has always been a favourite. Chi Cake is pretty awesome, as well as non-dairy ice-creams and all those other wonderful sweet treats -- the raw ones too.

Here are some books, movies, magazines, and my favorites that I would recommend to other HappyCow members:

"The Heretic's Feast: A History of Vegetarianism" by Colin Spencer "Beyond beef: the rise and fall of the cattle culture" by Jeremy Rifkin "Diet for a New America: How Your Food Choices Affects..." by John Robbins "Reclaiming Our Health: Exploding the Medical Myth" by John Robbins "Immunization: the reality behind the myth" by Walene James "Macrobiotic Pregnancy and Care of the Newborn" by Michio Kushi, Aveline Kushi "The one-straw revolution: Introduction to Natural" by Masanobu Fukuoka
