Mo’ suggestions - Edit
We love this place! Great atmosphere. For drinks, love the chai latte. We each got different drinks and rated this one the best. Got it iced this time. The nachos are good but the chip to sauce ratio was not quite right. Need more cheese and toppings. Shroom and grits great. Love the hot honey. Shroom and waffles same!! Everything very rich, so definitely worth sharing.

Friday night date night - Edit
We went Friday night and there was live jazz. There was seating indoors and outdoors. We got the veggie burger and fries and the chick’n fried shrooms and grits. I also tried one of their agave wine / sake cocktails

Vegan cafe place - Edit
The restaurant has a really cool vibe. I went for brunch and ordered the pancakes—they were crunchy and super delicious. I also had the avocado toast, which was really good, and a strawberry and blueberry smoothie that was amazing.

Truly one of a kind… - Edit
I’ve traveled all across the country trying vegan restaurants, but nothing compares to this place — nothing. The food is phenomenal: true Southern comfort, completely plant-based, and made with so much heart you can taste it in every bite.
Read moreThe staff is incredibly kind, and the whole atmosphere feels like stepping into a vibrant slice of Southern living… just vegan-style. Every dish is flavorful, filling, and clearly crafted with love.
This restaurant has officially become one of my absolute favorites — so much so that I’m genuinely considering having them cater my (vegan!) wedding. That’s how good it is.
If you want soulful, delicious, unforgettable vegan food, this is the spot.
Pros: Large portions , Friendly staff, Atmosphere
Cons: Small parking lot

Excellent! - Edit
Chill vibe. Good music. Friendly service. Excellent coffee drinks. Broad menu and delicious food. We loved everything about this place. We ate the breakfast taco trio, and each one was delicious. We also had the sweet potato hash bowl with added brussel sprouts (gotta have those!). And we had the smashed cajun papas (i would go again just for those alone!). Definitely want to eat here again next time we are in Houston.

Soooo good! - Edit
I had a few hours to kill before my flight home and wanted to find a good final meal in Houston. I had the truffle mac and it was incredible! The staff were really kind and the mac and cheese was definitely the best I’ve had since becoming vegan 6 years ago!

🎷 Vibes, Flies & Purple Rain – A Night at Mo Brunch & Brews - Edit
Pulled up on a Friday night and found parking barely—street style. We were a little confused about where to enter, but shoutout to the kind stranger who saw the lost look in my eyes and pointed us to the door. The outdoor vibes were solid with live music and a saxophonist absolutely killing it. We started outside, but quickly realized we were sharing the space with a few too many flies—and when a raindrop hit, I tapped out and we moved indoors.
Read moreNow to the food: I kicked things off with the Purple Rain cocktail, and listen… Prince would be proud. Then came the boudin balls—crispy, flavorful, no notes. I had the fettuccine Alfredo with lump crab and my date had the shroom and grits—both dishes hit from every angle. Not a single miss on flavor, texture, or presentation.
Overall, great music, strong menu, and a unique vibe.
Pros: 🎷 Live music set the perfect vibe, 🍴 Food and drinks were top-tier, 🤝 Friendly and helpful folks
Cons: 🚗 Parking was limited, 🚪 Entrance was unmarked, 🪰 Flies + rain ruined outdoor vibe

Deliciously decadent - Edit
This is a great place to eat when visiting any one of Houston's world class museums. There is a wide variety of plant based items. Everything is delicious, and the portions are generous. Plus this is an all Black-owned, plant based restaurant!
Read moreMy favorite is the Johnny Nash Sweet Potato Hash. But last time we visited I wanted mushrooms. So I ordered the Brunch Tacos with Hot Honey Shrooms with a side of Avocado. (I'm not so good with hot spice, so I ordered sauce on the side. No problem.)
My friends ordered the Boudain Balls, Hot Honey Shroom Po Boy, the Flight of Grits, and the Pecan Pie Milkshake. Everything was delicious!

Wow - Edit
I don’t think I’ve had such savory food in such a long time, I have been fully vegan for 6 years and this was top notch. The waffles and shrooms were amazing but I think the Cajun croissant was my favorite. The crispy croissant with the savory rice was a perfect combination finished with a hearty cream sauce.

AMAZING!!!!!! - Edit
Staff were super kind and helpful! And the food is worthy of being called some of Houston’s best vegan dining. I had the croissant sandwich and a latte, and got some nachos to go. The sandwich was AWESOME, and when I accidentally left my nachos at the table when walking out, the staff chased me down to make sure I got them. 10/10
