I noticed how non vegans see a market for veganism / gluten free and increase prices otherwise you wouldn't see at a restaurant $21 for fried mushrooms & One waffle!? $13 for fries!? It's just potatoes I've supported Houston sauce since they did popups even though their food is overpriced. It's a shame to see them support animal cruelty being at the rodeo so many (loyal customers) have protested this vile event. Houston has tons of incredible Vegan restaurants that aren't funding animal cruelty

We went to this place twice. The first time, we waited over an hour and had to leave and didn’t get to try it (on a Saturday it was sooo busy)! So we came back the following week on a Friday for brunch and were able to be seated! The inside was full so they offered us an outside table with some heaters on (it was chilly out) and we sat there for some time before someone came out and said someone had gotten up and they can clean an inside table for us if we wanted! Which was sooo nice of them because I was cold but willing 😂 we sat inside, ordered a cappuccino and a matcha latte. Both good! 😄 We ended up ordering three dishes to share because everything sounded good. And they were! I’m so glad we came back. Everything was so good. First time having grits! I loved everything so much! And the server checked up on us many times and made sure we always had water and everything was okay. Thanks guys!!!

I wanted waffles but they were out so I was a little bummed to get pancakes but it actually seemed way worth it because you seem to get double the amount of pancakes than you would waffle so there’s a little bonus tip for you!
They definitely don’t skimp on the topping. My pancakes were COVERED in topping and I was there for it!!
The just eggs were cooked perfectly as well and had a really nice flavor.
The staff was very friendly- located in a nice location and super cute on the inside or on the outdoor patio.
I highly recommend this place for some breakfast. They are pretty pricey but it was definitely worth it in my opinion. #Veganuary

Update: tried to give this place another go but was an hour to an hour and a half wait so we left. Half the tables were empty. So sad to see a business that you really want to see thriving losing out on business and alienating customers because it just can’t get organised.
Read moreOriginal: The outdoor patio and ambiance of this place are great. But we went on the first official opening day and things weren’t running too smoothly. We had to wait 1h 20 to even get in and then was a pretty long wait for service and food. It seemed they were overwhelmed and had inexperienced staff. When the food came it was excellent. So overlooking these other issues as they’re just getting started. Will come back when they’re more settled in.

Read moreWhich doesn’t matter because this place was god awful. We arrived at 11:30 am and were told there was a 30-45 minute wait which we agreed to. After 50 minutes passed, we had to get an update because we weren’t given one (via text) they seated us and by then it was 12:45 ish. We were super hungry by then, ordered our food and by 1:30 we still had no food. We asked how much longer and they expected us to wait 15 more minutes. What a waste of time considering we were only here for the day. So pissed off. People after us were being served left and right.

Let’s just say I loved this place. I went with a non vegan friend who’s trying to transition to a plant based diet. She wanted “breakfast” food so we went here. She loved the food and after we ate here she said “I think I can go Vegan if the food is this good!

I ordered the croissant breakfast sandwich & a fruit bowl and my friend ordered the quesadilla, grits and a coffee. Both meals were amazing ! You can tell they take pride in their food. Staff was very friendly and this place also offers great coffee and beer and wine! When in Houston you must visit this place!!

In the building where Java Lava Brew was. The mushrooms and grits came out warm but not fresh off out of the fryer, they were Ok, but not amazing. The brussel sprouts were deep fried, also ok but not amazing. The hash was odd. Absolutely edible, but not worth rushing back for any time soon. If you're vegan for heath reasons, this is not the place. If you're an ethical vegan unconcerned about eating healthy, this place has a cool vibe and will fill you up!

I'm excited they opened a dine in breakfast/brunch spot! Food as expected was great. I dined at a slow time, so no service issues. However, it is pretty hot outside which may not be terribly comfortable. If your like me and not a mushroom lover, give it a chance. You can't tell the chikn is mushrooms.

My daughter and I drove 45min to try this place out and although we absolutely loved the food, lunch shouldn’t take 2.5 hours. Took at least 30min to get a drink I ordered and another 20min to get water. We were sitting on the patio in 90 degree weather and no fans. We honestly didn’t mind sitting outside since there was such a long wait for indoor seating, but we assumed we would get water soon after being seated. Even though several people were seated in our area soon after us, I think we were forgotten. They had all received and eaten their food long before ours ever arrived. Very disappointing. The food we ordered was very delicious though and we’ll give them another shot someday when we have a few hours.

I was debating on zucchini fritters and told the cashier. I wish she would have told me that my sandwich came with fries! Then I could have ordered the zucchini fritters!
