Lunch so good we went back that night for dessert - Edit
In town for a conference at the nearby medical center. Very easy to get here on the metro. We had the sweet potato hash (kale, quinoa, black beans), side of chik’n fried shrooms, and a bowl of Gumbo. The gumbo was the star. Amazing. Returned that night for dessert: donut stuffed with ice cream. Wanted to try everything on the menu and will have to come back!!

So many options! My girls (not vegan btw) and I went for my bday and got their flights to share/try. They brought me a strawberry pancake stack for my bday. Seasoned to perfection.

NOT to be missed - Edit
We tried this WONDERFUL restaurant while in town for Taylor Swift, and it was incredible. We tried everything we could fit in; the pancake flight, breakfast tacos, sushi, crispy potatoes, artichoke dip, crispy chik’n-like mushrooms with waffles…my description simply can’t do it justice. Everything was flavorful, seasoned, indulgent. It’s expensive, but it has every right to be, this brunch was an OCCASION in its own right. The chai was perfectly spicy and house-made, the service was great, and this place was hopping on a rainy Sunday. Mo Better is END GAME. FIRST-STRING. A-TEAM. I hope I have literally any reason to come through HTX so I can get back.

Went for brunch. Favorites: the buffalo chicken dip, naked Brussels, buffalo cauliflower, chicken and grits flight. The donut burger and vegan monte Cristo were good but both a bit too sweet for us. So much food, took lots home.

Best vegan soul food ever - Edit
Cool vibe, great food. And they don’t rely on fake meat. I had the chicken fried oyster mushrooms and waffles, and as always the buffalo cauliflower. I also got the almond butter croissant for later but I can’t comment on that yet. I’m very full and happy!

Took forever and the food wasn’t worth the wait - Edit
I hate to give this review because I had been looking forward to going to this place for months leading up to my Houston trip. Food took over an hour to get to us and so we were out of water almost that whole time. I got the kale salad (not good, almost no dressing and way way too much of the bacon) and potato soup (they were out and told me about 30 min after ordering), so I got gumbo - which was delicious. My husband got the breakfast plate and it was sold and grits were all sticky together from sitting under a heat lamp for who knows how long. Unfortunately just not good food or experience.

I’d recommend this place for both vegan and non-vegans. The ambiance is beautiful and clean, the service is friendly and the food is delicious. I have brought non-vegan friends here and they’ve been quite satisfied.

My friend and I split the breakfast quesadilla and pancake flight. Both were amazing but I especially recommend the quesadilla, the cheese was melted and the flavors were amazing.

Fun & Yum! - Edit
We stopped here on our way to Austin and so glad we found this place, we had been trying to track down the Houston Sauce Co food truck and this place is same owners. Everyone was so friendly and the vibe was really great. We ordered grits flight and the Viet-Nacho with minced oyster mushrooms and enjoyed both, the nachos were HUGE way more than 2 people could eat so be warned! It is a huge sheet of nachos. Our favorite thing we had was the grits and chikn' fried shrooms with trill sauce. Had the Purple Rain cocktail and a beer, sat outside and enjoyed the music until close.

Dissapointing - Edit
Was excited to try here, but it ultimately fell short. I tried their gumbo, but felt it was lacking flavor. The service was okay, but nothing to write home about. Not sure if I would return as I have seen mixed reviews about inconsistency in service and food. Overall was not happy with my experience.

Artsy vibes - Edit
The staff were all super friendly and the food was great. There was a live DJ outside, a local artist selling jewelry at a table inside, and painting kits for purchase that you can use while you wait for food! Very chill and artsy vibe. It was pouring rain but the staff were willing to let me sit outside in the covered area.

2 of my favorite foods grits and fried oyster mushrooms! The food was soooo good, perfectly seasoned, perfectly breaded! Me and my wife are in Houston (from Chicago) for the first time and this was our first stop after leaving the airport. We can’t wait to comeback tomorrow to try other options!

Closest thing to Breakfast Klub - Edit
Ever since I went vegan I’ve missed the grits from the breakfast klub, on my recent visit to Houston I was taken to this place and it is so freaking good!! I recommend the hot honey grits. Really anything you order is going to be great. If you want to go healthier the sweet potatoes hash is good but definitely not as flavorful as some of the more indulgent dishes. It gets really busy around noon to one so if you come at this time prepare to wait. Very cute ambience.

Fantastic Vegan Food! - Edit
Stumbled across this place while exploring the museum district of Houston. What a find! Indoor and outdoor seating with a great vibe. Had the buffalo chicken dip appetizer and it was great! Had the Coltrane sandwich for the main which was also excellent. Highly Recommend and it’s conveniently close to the train. They Also have a small selection of used vinyl records, lots of Jazz.
