Greasy, uninspired, disappointing - Edit
We tried a lot of dishes for brunch. They were slathered in oil and just bad. Surprisingly awful because the other times we’ve been here, it was good.

Pricey and bland - Edit
Honest review: I didn’t love this place—the food was too pricey to be bland—but I still support the fact that they are an all-vegan upscale restaurant. We got the saffron risotto and adobo.

One of the best, ever, anywhere - Edit
Millennium has been a Mecca for seekers of creative cuisine since they opened in the original location in SF long ago. The chefs know their way around a vegetable, and a kitchen. The Oakland reincarnation offers the same inspiringly inventive plant-based cookery in a more relaxed atmosphere, and still with excellent service.
Read moreVegan foodies — and indeed foodies of any non-phytophobic stripe — must try this one-of-kind place at least once or twice.
Tip: come with friends, to sample as many dishes as possible.

Pricey, but Good - Edit
Delish, but use a lot of mushrooms. I can always find a couple of things in the menu without though.

Best Vegan in the Country? They would get my vote - Edit
Was a fan of Millennium since the SF days. Supported their move to Oakland via Kickstarter. Have even taken one of their cooking classes. I LOVE going to a place where my trust in the chef is such that I can simply order the chefs tasting menu without any worry. I only wish they had a location in SoCal, as this is 400 miles from home.
Read morePros: Food, Service, Great vibe
Cons: No private dining option like they had in SF, No hotel within walking distance, Pricey (but the quality makes it worthwhile)

excellent vegan fine dining - Edit
This is the place in the bay area for vegan fine dining. Everything I've had here has been excellent, with lots of fresh veggies and really creative flavor combinations.
Read moreThey're open now for Sunday brunch (in addition to dinner every night), which is less pricey and less crowded. Most of their brunch options are savory, although they do have pancakes with an amazing orange marmalade topping.
Pros: all vegan, delicious
Cons: pricey, can get booked up

Yup! No more words to say than great things about this restaurant. Pretty chill and you could also have a “summer” ambiance if you want to sit outside. Seasonal menu, and they never fail to surprise me.

Fancy vegan - Edit
Hadn’t been here for a couple of years. The food seems even better now! I had salad with vegan croutons. My friend had “oyster mushrooms” (fried mushrooms). I had a delicious curry dish for entree and he had artichoke dish. Pound cake with vegan cream and pears on top finished it off. I had their grape juice as drink.

For your big night out - Edit
A very fun vegan fine-dining experience. We usually sit on the patio, which dials up the fun vibe. Once we sprang for the whole tasting menu with wine pairings, which was very cool. The brunch is also very yum. The Bloody Mary was this awesome tomato milkshake thing: never had anything like it. 😋

We had Starters, Main Course and Desert. It was really tasty, but also kind of pricey. Nevertheless worth every penny. Next time I will go for two courses..that fills you up as well!

Divine food and wonderful ambiente - Edit
Recommendation from a friend who never made it here. The atmosphere and the ambiente are beautiful and the food is beyond words! I was in heaven. I had the grilled radicchio and fig salad, the Tamal and the blackberry cheesecake and it was so delicious. Also the home-made vanilla soda was a dream.

Oakland spot much improved - Edit
I first tried Millennium in SF before it closed and was not that impressed. Food was a bit bland and I thought it was overpriced. I tried it again in Rockridge and was very impressed. The food had very natural flavors, with garlic and other flavors shining through. The ambience was very nice and it felt lovely. Highly recommend.

Underwhelming - Edit
The food was okay. Nice environment, but that's about it, if you like crowded restaurants. I don't think it's worth the price. I cook a lot, and felt most of the items I could make as good or better at home for much cheaper.

cancelled reservation at last minute with no explanation!! - Edit
Don't trust Millenium with your special occasions. You will be left high and dry with no reservation, and too late to find something somewhere else. I had made a reservation 2 weeks in advance for a very special date and occasion. The day before, I get an email that Millenium has cancelled my reservation! No explanation given. They said for questions, call the restaurant. So I call during business hours (8:30pm), and it only goes to voicemail. No return call yet - unbelievable!

Best vegan desserts - Edit
The food here was absolutely phenomenal. I had the pumpkin steak as I don't eat mushrooms and almost everything else was mushroom-based, but I was not disappointed despite my enforced choice.

My Favorite! - Edit
No reservation and little time. It took us a while to find it despite the help from Siri. When I called, they said we would have to sit at the bar, but they ended up giving us a table. It was 5:30 on a Tuesday and it looked like Saturday night. My pumpkin risotto was delicious and I ate every bite! Justine was a great waiter, darling and knowledgable. It is not often that I have the problem of deciding what to order (usually I am lucky to have one vegan choice)--his recommendation was perfect! A restaurant for all vegan restaurants to aspire to.

Great place for special event - Edit
I have enjoyed this restaurant since it was located in San Francisco. The ambiance definitely changed with the move across the Bay from more classy to casual. They have indoor and outdoor seating. Outdoor is nice year-round, with heaters and blankets for comfort. It's fun to get a group together and do the tasting menu--though it is so much food. Good for special events; Birthdays, Anniversaries, etc. The dessert sampler is absolutely brilliant.

Fancy restaurant serving vegan only fare. Good cocktails and wine selection. Excellent service and food was well presented and delicious. I had the fried cauliflower and it was spectacular. Husband had the kofta and loved it. Ask for the complimentary sourdough bread and spread while waiting for your entrees.
