Yay! We’re not gonna starve in VV

Easily the best food we’ve had in Vang Vieng so far. We ordered the noodles with tofu & veggies, and the vegetable & tofu soup. Both were tasty, had good flavours but weren’t overdone with salt. Huzzah! We also ordered the sticky rice with mango and coconut cream which was super tasty!

The staff are lovely and attentive! Nice big board with vegan dishes! If we go back we’ll give the falafel a go ☺️

Pros: cheap, vegan dishes, tasty

Not the best houmous of my life

Falafels were bland and houmous ok. Pita was very soft and warm. No other vegan dishes were available as there was no tofu. The waiter didn't understand the word vegan although a sign in the restaurant indicate vegan food...

Local vegan food worth it but falafel and hummus are expensive

This place offers clearly labeled vegan food (hummus, falafel, fried rice/noodles and tofu, pasta, pumpkin soup...). The hummus has a good texture but is a bit bland. Falafel are tasty but small, making the hummus + falafel dish a bit expensive because the whole portion is small. I would instead prefer the fried rice/noodles with tofu even if the tofu is also a bit bland (the rest is not). Make sure that the cook is making the dish without eggs (the vegan and not the vegetarian version). The owners are friendly and nice. One of the few vegan-friendly eateries of Vang Vieng, so you will probably give it a try, and it will be OK.

Pros: vegan options clearly labeled, friendly staff, local food is good

Cons: hummus is a bit bland, and expensive, make sure they don't add eggs in vegan dishes

Too expensive for what you get

I was really disappointed with this place. Falafel were super dry and you could see that they came from a very cheap industrial made package. Also the hummus had no flavor at all, and you pay more than $5 for falafel and hummus, not even big portion. Wouldn’t recommend it at all.

Pros: Friendly owner

Cons: Expensive, No taste

Great

I ate here everyday during my stay in Vang Vieng. Mostly because I trusted this place knowledge of veganism more than other places.
Their pumpkinsoup is really amazing! Also I had the falafel with hummus and I loved it!
Make sure you clearly order no garlic sauce (mayonaise).

Really good Falafel and Hummus

I came for the Falafel and Hummus and wasn't disappointed. The taste is really good, it goes well with the hot pita bread and fresh salad. The amount wasn't too much and the price not cheap though.
I found the service to be nice.

My favourite place in Vang Vieng

Owner of the restaurant- Mama Sababa is one of the loveliest people I have met on my journeys! Excellent fast service and the falafel she makes....hmmmm the best one I had outside of Israel!

Pros: Food, Service

Cons: A bit hard to find

nice place

We ate here a few times. The food was tasty, but a bit small dishes, and more pricey then other close restaurants (by a bit).

Our stomach was ok afterwards which is important when traveling. Food is very fresh here too!

Pros: fresh, nice owner

Cons: pricey, small dishes

Good find in Vang Vieng!

Great homemade hummus and falafel. Everything made from scratch, from soaking the chickpeas to the pita bread. Seriously, some of the best hummus and falafel. Large selection of vegetarian Laotian dishes, all can be requested without fish sauce. The fruit shakes are also vegan-- pineapple was in season when we were there.

Small veggie and herb garden at the restaurant, and Mama Sababa told us she has a small, mostly organic farm nearby where most of the veggies come from.
