Comfort food - Edit
The curries all sounded good; I eventually opted for the dal and my partner had the mama curry. Portion sizes were great and the extras on top were nice (chutney, nuts and tomatoes on mine). I would have preferred a sandwich but unfortunately they were all crossed off the menu.

Best vegan spot in Reykjavik - Edit
We ended up eating here every day on our trip, because nowhere else came close to providing a healthy vegan meal with a largely gluten free menu. Literally tried everything on the menu by the end. Ambience was also great. Highly recommend.

Everything, even if it doesn't sound appetizing, is so good. So. Good. Get the garlic naan no matter what you order.

All vegan, warm comfort foods - Edit
Delicious food. They were out of the garlic naan, but they fried up some sourdough bread with garlic for us and it was delicious. Excellent hot drinks too. A little tricky to find -- the restaurant is on the second floor at the end of a courtyard. Cozy space with lots of natural light and soothing music. Casual, laid-back atmosphere. There is a community gathering space next door (also upstairs), White Lotus Venue, that hosts interesting events.

A good option in Reykjavik - Edit
Given the small size of the menu I was a little disappointed when two items (it would be the two we came in for) were not available (including one of the 4 mains), however the curry I did have was excellent so we still enjoyed our dinner. Place has a nice chill vibe and a central location.

Wonderful find in Reykjavik - Edit
I went here with my son, I was so pleased to find they have a lift as he is a wheelchair user. The venue is so pretty and peaceful, and it has a fantastic menu. I had the Dahl, and a cacao smoothie with tahini, and my son had the hummus and pesto sandwich. We got a couple of protein balls to take away. Everything was delicious.

Cute, Cozy Vegan Eatery in Central Reykjavik - Edit
So our ship was in port for the day, and luckily we found Mama very near our shuttle drop-off. We stopped in for lunch shortly after it opened and ordered the Dhal a la Lama, Chilli Sin Carne, Garlic Naan, and two Bliss Balls.
Read moreThe stews were definitely large and hearty portions, and were good on this dreary, rainy day. I was expecting a little more Naan than what came, but we made do. The Dhal a la Lama had rich, complex flavor, and the Chilli Sin Carne was also enjoyed by my husband. He did mention it had a slight vinegary bite to it, and when I tasted it, it reminded me of some vinegar-based barbecue sauces. I'm not a fan of the vinegar base, so I'm glad I ordered what I did.
We finished with two Bliss Balls, one Tahini & Cacao Bliss, which was good, and one Peanut Butter Bliss, which reminded me of a Reese's Peanut Butter Cup, unsurprisingly. Both were good, but probably would not order again because of the price.
Staff was friendly and service was good. We found prices to be a bit high for North American standards, but not sure how they compare locally. I would definitely visit again if in Reykjavik, as the food was very good.
On a final note, there appeared to be a restaurant mascot, who was as cute as can be!
Pros: Great food, Friendly staff
Cons: Can be pricey?

We got the dhal a la mama, mama curry, and garlic naan. They were all amazing, especially the naan (we got some to go). It’s conveniently located close to a lot of tourist areas as well.

The restaurant is located in a cozy little attic. I ordered the soup of the day, the chili wrap, and the cup of calm. (Tea) Everything was delicious and filling. I especially enjoyed how many fresh veggies were included in the wrap.

Filing and delicious - Edit
I saw some reviews on here about bland food and that made me nervous. I did not have that experience at all.
Read moreThe restaurant is tucked back in a courtyard and then you have to walk up some stairs to find this place.
The smell when I opened the door to the restaurant made my mouth water. It was this full bold curry smell and it made me really hungry.
I had booked a reservation, but on this day it wasn't needed because there was plenty of seating available for small or large groups.
I was seated right away and given a menu. The service was great. The waitress brought me a cup and pitcher of water along with the menu.
Everything is plant based and there were lots of tasty options. I chose to go with the West Africa stew because it didn't have cilantro/coriander listed as an ingredient. I can't eat cilantro so I try to avoid dishes that have it.
I also tried to order the garlic naan but they were out. So I opted for the lentil chips and a cup of calming tea.
Everything came out at once and very quickly. I ate a little bit of everything and enjoyed every bite. There was a piece of cilantro as garnish, but I took that off.
The flavors were really good and I was so full after eating all of that food. I found it to be very filling and it made me feel good to put that delicious food in my body.
The tea was great and very strongly flavored with lavender.
I highly recommend coming here and trying their delicious food surrounded by a peaceful atmosphere.
Pros: Fully vegan, Lots of tables, Great flavors and smells
