Back in business

Loving Hut has been back in Yaletown Friday and Saturdays (and sometimes Sundays) since mid-March, 2013 for lunch. Check out their facebook page for menus and times. This is the BEST burger you will ever eat (vegan or otherwise)... even my meat-eating friends agree!

Pros: delicious, friendly, vegan

Cons: none

Filling delicious food

The burgers are amazing. They don't disappoint. Call to confirm their location and hours. We went on a Wednesday during open hours and they were not there. But the food is so good we made sure to catch them the next day:)

Pros: Delicious

Cons: Call to confirm location and hours of operation.

Food is good but a gamble for if they’re open or not

I love the crispy chicken from here, and whenever I go to the states we visit the restaurants. Although the food is amazing, the food truck really needs to figure its stuff out. The hours say they’re only open certain weekdays, and whenever I try to make it down they’re never there. They need some kind of social media or at least have a phone number where they actually answer the phone.

Pros: Delicious vegan fast food, Relatively inexpensive

Cons: Hours are wonky af, It’s a gamble to see if they’re open!

perfect dirty Vegan treat!

The onion ring acheese burger is simply the best dirty burger I tasted in a long time, of you want to go all out, treat yourself and add a side of cheesy fries. Boom! Food coma! Amazing.

Also the people are lovely, the truck is solar powered, tips goes 100% to charities and they sell books about cooking V meals. What's not to love?

(for the zero-wast people, ask for no cutlery as they are plastic) the other wrapping is all paper, metal/foil).

Pros: tasty, big, cheep, eco friendly

Cons: plastic cutlery

Best Burgers Anywhere!

The burgers here are amazing: big and juicy and FULL of flavour! The sauces are exceptional, but beware, they make a mess -- you need lots of napkins! :-D Totally vegan. Love the cart.

Burgers Can't be Beat!

Honestly, some of, if not the best burgers in the city. My all time favourite is the Bacon Cheese Burger, followed by the Onion Ring Burger. If it's in it's usual spot in Yaletown, it's a stone throw away from the seawall and park, where you can chow down. Never had a bad experience here. Wish they were just open way more often!

Pros: Best burgers in the city

Cons: not enough open hours :(

Great vegan comfort food, but don't count on them being there

When you can catch this food cart the food is great! I love the double bacon cheezeburger and fries. However, they are often not there when they are supposed to be, open late, or leave early, so I don't go out of my way to try to go eat their food since I'm usually disappointed. However, if you're in the area it's worth a peek to see if they're open - definitely good for a satisfying and hearty vegan burger!

Pros: Tasty vegan burgers, Friendly staff

Cons: Often not there/open when they say they will be

nice burger, not always located at address on website

Update July 12, 2017: I was in the area and tried their mushroom burger with the spicy bean patty. It was pretty good for a frozen fast food burger. I enjoyed the nutritional yeast cheese sauce.

Note: Their standard burger at the moment is a gardein burger, not the bean burger that I had which is available upon request. However, the lady at the cart said gardein has moved to the US and doesn't produce them in Canada anymore so once they're gone, that's it.

May 2017: I tried to go to this food truck which has a regular location at Davie and Pacific according to their website. I went out of my way to get here so I could finally try it, but the food truck was nowhere to be seen. I called them to find out if they were still in business. It turns out they've relocated for a couple of weeks and simply did not update their website. They said they put a sign out before the move but obviously that doesn't help inform first time or occasional customers. Very disappointing.

Excellent food, weird schedule

Delicious food, not too expensive (compared to a lot of other food trucks). The only thing is that their schedule is a tad weird in my opinion. The window of opportunity to get their nice burger or onion rings is very small. So even though I pass by that area daily I never have the opportunity to grab a bite. They close too early to get there after work and they are a bit far from downtown and Gastown offices to go there for lunch.

I believe they mostly use Gardein brand for their burgers and that works well given that they are a food truck not a gourmet restaurant.

Pros: Very tasty, Friendly staff, Inexpensive

Cons: Weird schedule

Even better than the real thing

Very friendly people with burgers that look like your average heart attack burger but taste better and are cruelty free. Great!

Great food, great service!

Had a great lunch at the Loving Hut. Great food for a reasonable price. Shared a bunch of things of the menu and everything was amazing. Told many friends in the city to grab some vegan comfort food from the Loving Hut Express.

Not Organic but still delicious

the food or vegetables are not said to be organic and I can certainly tell because I always feel sleepy after I eat their food but it is still delicious, however, I also wish they could expand their hours.

Pros: price

Cons: hardly open, non-organic

Heaven for those who like junk food

Nothing against junk food, but this food cart appears kinda rancid. Not only is everything in and on the cart bleached out (the paint, the bills), the equipment inside seems to have seen better days, overall it doesn't create the impression of being very hygienic.
Any way, it's an alright option for junk food to take away. You may be waiting a bit, since they seem to get lots of costumers.
As far as I am concerned, I found it kinda hard to even spot all the items provided, to get an overview. The burger I had had good value, of that there is no doubt. To be honest, for me it tasted even too "real", to close to actual meat, therefore I wasn't exactly enamoured with the taste. On the other hand people who like the taste of meat most likely will be pretty amazed.
Service was friendly.

Pros: good value, convenient

Cons: kinda rancid appearance, tastes too much like real meat, confusing choice of products

Excellent for junk food vegans

Wife and i were in BC over the week, was able to stop by while biking around the city on a Thursday.

They use gardien for all of their burgers, so heads up if you're opposed due to the buy-out.

Flavor was fantastic, prices were reasonable for the large portions, and the three people working were very friendly. Loved it.

Pros: Great taste, Friendly Staff, Great location

Cons: Not "cheap" by any means, Only there a few days a week

Good for a fast-food craving!

This vegan food truck is great - even better now that they offer two completely gluten-free burgers (their fries still aren't). The mushroom and cheese burger is great, and I couldn't believe it was gluten-free. The food is pretty greasy, but it's a fast-food place selling burgers and fries so that's not exactly a surprise. I wouldn't eat it every day, but it really satisfies that craving. My only complaint is the pricing - the fact that Loving Hut are charging $10 for just a take-out burger on its own seems a bit steep (when I could pay $12-14 for a burger, side salad and fries at Meet on Main).

Pros: Gluten-free options finally - yay!, Great burgers

Cons: Pricey, Greasy

Love it!!

The food is great! Only wish that they were open more.

This is a food cart. They are only open on Friday - Sunday and have limited hours. Plus they often take off for festivals in others parts of town.

Save their number and call ahead. Otherwise you may be disappointed to find they aren't there.

Everything they sell is good. Nice people too!

I recommend the crispy chicken burger with a side of yam fries and their wonderful chipotle mayo dip.

All VEGAN!!! Enjoy!!!!! This Place is amazing!!!!! :)

Pros: Food is great!, Decent price. , The staff.

Cons: Irregular schedule can be disappointing.

Holy Cow, I thought I was eating the real thing!

If I was still a meat eater, I definitely wouldn't have known the difference. The whole food cart is vegan and I tried the bacon cheese burger ($10) and onion rings ($4). Yes, it is expensive, but wow! This is by far the best vegan burger I ever had and the onion rings were good too. I actually don't like onions at all, but decided to try it anyways, so me saying it was good would boggle my other friends minds, hahha!
I am looking forward to going back to the Loving Hut and trying everything else on their menu. The ladies working there are very nice :) I hope that one day, they could get more locations (with more places to sit) or extend their days and hours.
Recommended to all! :D
