A great little find - Edit
We needed somewhere to eat on the Friday night as we had a booking for the Saturday.
I had L'Hortet on a list of veggie/vegan places to eat so we decided to check it out.
The staff were friendly and helpful.
The food is delicious and reasonably priced. I also had a really nice Sweet Potato beer.
I will definitely go to L'Hortet again next time I am in Barcelona.
Pros: Tasty food, Good range of vegan beer, friendly and helpful staff

Food looks amazing and tastes even better - Edit
We were recommended L'Hortet by our bike tour guide and it didn't disappoint. A 3 course lunch menu for €10.90 which included choices for primers, segons and postres.
Vegan, gluten free and sugar free - all full of flavour and presented beautifully.
The place was full of locals, which is always a good sign.

Inexpensive and tasty lunch! - Edit
I've already been to L'Hortet 3 times since I'm in Barcelona (one week). It's a perfect place to have a quick good meal, for example during your lunch break. They offer a daily menu for 10.90 euros that includes a first dish (I recommend the salad buffet which is always really good) a second dish and a desert, which is a really good deal. The food on the menu changes every day and more than half of it is vegan. I definitely recommend the place!
Pros: Great value, Excellent food
Cons: Can be noisy

ככה ככה - Edit

Very good food for the price - Edit
It was a really nice restaurant, and the food was awesome and very creative. I had "champignons croquettes" for the starter, then the butternut lasagna... it was tasty, and the portion was reasonable. For such quality food, the price is really not expensive.
Pros: Very good food, Cheap for the quality, Organic wine affordable
Cons: Nothing

We visited L'Hortet on 28 October 2014. It is in a side street near La Boqueria Market.
The food was lovely. The waitress was helpful with the translations and we were willing to try different things.
I had natilles do coco i garrofes for dessert which was coconut cream with carob and tasted heavenly.
The freshly made juices were delicious.
Pros: Wonderful food, Good atmosphere, Good value for money

A lovely place with plenty of vegan options - Edit
We went there for lunch and really enjoyed the experience. The place is nice, very well located near Las Ramblas and the staff is friendly and helpful. The menu was only in Catalan or Spanish but the waitress helped us a lot to translate some dishes into English. We took the daily menu which has numerous vegan options. We chose the buffet salad and the chickpea salad, fried noodles with a vegan mayo and a polenta with vegetables as the main dish, and a carob cream as a dessert. Everything was really good and well presented but I find that portions were relatively small.
The place is a good option for casual lunch. You can eat rapidly an affordable vegan menu near Las Ramblas. Go there!
Pros: tasty food, vegan options, friendly and helpfull staff, central, nice place, inexpensive
Cons: small portions

Plenty of Delicious Vegan Options - Edit
Lunch is the best deal at this cozy restaurant, with a changing daily menu of dishes that taste home-cooked. For ten Euro, you choose from several options for each of the three courses (appetizer, main dish, dessert). The extensive healthy salad bar is one of the appetizer options and the meal is accompanied by a couple of whole-grain breads. I had a stuffed eggplant with marinara-sauce and textured vegetable protein that was complex and satisfying. The carob pudding dessert was divine! The same daily menu is available for dinner, at a higher price.
On a second visit, many of the menu items had changed, making this a place that stays exciting. Sure enough, lots of regulars were in attendance and that's always a good sign!
Pros: An innovative and creative cook at work!, Excellent value, Very nutritious foods!
Cons: This place gets busy!, They run out of some dishes

Favourite for Lunch in Barcelona - Edit
Went here for New Year's Eve lunch on 31 Dec 2011 and thoroughly enjoyed it. The deal was 3 courses plus a coffee for €14.95 which was superb value. The options were soup or bruschetta for starters, moussaka, pasta carbonara or quinnoa for main course and a selection of deserts such as fruit salad, tiramisu and fruit smoothie. The staff were very friendly and there was a nice efficient atmosphere about the place. I'd love to come here for a night time experience to really test the place out in the near future. Having returned for lunch on 31 Dec 2012, it was only €9.90 for 3 courses with the quality and service once again being truly exceptional. L'Hortet is a wonderfully welcoming place with a superbly inviting menu and setting.
Pros: Friendly, Atmosphere, value

Excellent restaurant just off Ramblas - Edit
We went on Monday, when a lot of the tourist places were closed, and it was very busy - the reason for that became apparent with every course: really nice fresh salad for starters, tasty vegetable balls for main and a chocolate brownie for dessert (not one of those sad dry things we get in the UK all too often).
I wouldn't worry about going and finding it too busy as there are several other veggy places in the same area. In fact this is the first time in many years that we have been given that dilemma.

Good food, good portions. 3 courses for roughly 11-12 euroes. Our waitress just about managed a smile.
Not easily identifiable, especially if closed, but it does exist and is currently still operationing.

One of the best - Edit
Probably one of the best veg restaurant in town, not because of the staff though! Very nice tasty dishes, in a sort of gourmet presentation...it's not cheap, water is extremely expensive(almost every where in bcn) the best option is the midday menu one, 3 courses for less price, but in terms of quality food it really worth it!
Very good selection of self-service salad.
Pros: selection of salads, excellent food
Cons: staff...catalan way ;), unconfortable seats

Excellent experience - Edit
L'Hortet is definitely still open as of October 2008 and I would recommend it to any visitor to Barcelona. 14.95 Euro for a three course evening meal was excellent value. The starters were simple but tasty - e.g. humous with pitta; bruschetta. Main courses included wild mushroom risotto or tofu albondigas (meatballs). Make sure you save room for the homemade chocolate truffles for desert.
Pros: Great food, Non smoking, Good value

L'Hortet - Edit
It's a while since I've been to this place. I was in Barca at New Year and happened to go past and it and it stills seems to be as popular ever.
Vegan vegetarain friendly place that offers a good value set menu at lunch time.
Location is 2 or 3 minutes walk from La Rambla. It's on a fairly small steet that has other 100% vegetarian places nearby so it's handy if you would like to take a look and then make a choice between them
Well worth a visit.
Pros: Vegan veggie friendly, central
