Nice spot! - Edit
One of our favorite places, nice laid back atmosphere with couches & bookcases, reasonably priced beers, and located at the entrance to Portland’s wonderful West End. They serve a great Beyond burger, as well as a black bean burger. They also have a number of other nice options including vegan cheese pizzas, chili, and chili cheese fries!

Ask about the burger buns - Edit
I’m reading a lot of raves about the burgers, but we were told the brioche buns are not vegan. We opted for the other vegan options, which were pizza and chili. Both were excellent. Also a cool vibe and good cocktails. Still docked a star for the non-vegan buns. Carnivores can eat vegan buns, why does it have to be this difficult?

Pass on the scramble for brunch - Edit
Should have listened the other reviews and tried the veggie burger! Came for brunch and got their vegan scramble with home fries, tempeh and an English muffin. *Note* that even though the veggie sausage is offered under the vegan meal, the server said it’s not vegan 🤦♀️
Read moreScramble was really bland and potatoes came out really cold. Pretty big bummer. The tempeh was fine, it’s the fakin’ bacon you can get at the stores. My boyfriend had their hash browns and those were delicious.
If you come, I’d recommend something else than the scramble! (Will update if I try the other vegan brunch option and report back.)

Truly great veggie burger! - Edit
Agree with other review, the veggie burger (and fries) are excellent, the server and kitchen were TOTALLY accommodating and very nice. It is a pub, and would imagine that later evening dinners are perhaps less serene than our early one was.

Best vegan burger I have ever had - Edit
My wife and I went to LFK to try out their vegan veggie burger. We were pleased to find the menu was clearly labeled and that LFK even had vegan cheese for the burger (so many places just do the vegetarian thing and want to give you real dairy). My wife and I thought the burger was the best one we have ever eaten. They also came with home made tater tots which were amazing. Unlike traditional tater tots they are not greasy (we don't like really rich dripping with fat meals). Food and service were great. Atmosphere is a quirky bar/pub with interesting views of Long Fellow Square.

Cons: Limited vegan options but then again it's a tradit

nice atmosphere... decent food - Edit
LFK is a bar a restaurant close to Longfellow Square. They have a great atmosphere with cozy large tables and lots of books scattered through the bar. All the vegetarian options are clearly labeled on the menu, and they have a good variety. I ordered the veggie burger with potatoes, and my husband got the vegan grilled cheese. None of the food was bad, but it was just a little bland for our taste. If you are looking to get a drink and some vegan food, though, this wouldn't be a bad option.

Tasty brunch - Edit
I tried to go on a Saturday early evening, and it was jam packed with people with a bar scene, so I gave up (and went back to Local Sprouts.)
Read moreI went back the next morning for the Sunday brunch, which was delightful. When i walked in shortly after opening at 10am, I was the first customer. By 11am, it had really picked up.
I had a VLT, with an added vegan "egg patty" which seemed like crumbled tofu made into a patty. It was tasty enough. The bartender was fantastic: friendly, fast, and just attentive enough.
I would definitely go back, just not during the busy bar nighttimes.
Pros: tasty, decent vegan options, friendly
Cons: busy during bar hours

great atmosphere - Edit
I tried LFK at the beginning of the month. They're great! They're a low key "book bar" which I was told on the DL if your server sees you reading they'll give you a discount. There's a bar to sit at, tables, couches and chairs, and they have a few vegan items on the menu. The owner is vegan, and I believe they're trying to expand and add more to their menu. They have a veggie burger, which if you get it not on the pretzel bun, is vegan. A tempeh BLT with a house made tofu mayo that's delicious. They offer a vegan grilled cheese, salads, house made "tater tots" which are spicy little balls of happiness (they don't use fryers). Their German potato salad is also a good side! I definitely recommend checking it out if you're in Portland!
