Tasty but be sure to modify

The vegan ramen was good - but note, it's vegetarian and you have to ask for (and pay $4 more for) egg-free noodles. Still it was very tasty and the drinks were good

(V) Does NOT mean Vegan here!

Menu has at least a couple of items with (V), and then a qualifier added: "includes dairy." Other items simply have (V) with no further key or explanation on the menu. I made sure to specify that I'm Vegan and asked if the Futomaki roll and the Shojin Ramen are Vegan. Futomaki is Vegan by default, however the Ramen requires switching out the noodles for rice noodles. Good thing I asked. Come on folks, it's 2023.....we can do a little better regarding more transparent ingredient info on menus.
Futomaki roll was decent , but honestly, I've had better (probably because I've been "spoiled" by Beyond Sushi.) The Ramen bowl was a decent portion, though a little on the oily side.
No desserts on menu. Period. Wasn't even told that, just, "All done? OK, I'll get your check for you." Proceeded to give me the wrong bill...it included meat and was way more $$! Once I got that straightened out, I quickly paid my bill and left. Would not go back.

Cons: Poor communication , Was given wrong tab at end of meal

A Favorite West End Spot

Great spot for a leisurely lunch outdoors during warmer seasons, some sake, a cuke maki, some ramen. Inside is nice as well, but a bit cramped. Limited number of vegan options but what they have is very good. Tofu buns and shojin ramen are great. Staff is generally accommodating to vegan concerns & requests. A favorite neighborhood spot.

Pros: Good quality food, Nice outdoor dining spot, Accomodating to vegan requests

Cons: Pricey, Often crowded at peak times, Not a large number of vegan dishes
