Delicious fish and chips! - Edit
We came across this lovely pub while exploring the area and were surprised to see some interesting vegan options on the menu. The pub itself is lovely, with a gorgeous décor, open outdoor seating area and chilled, relaxed atmosphere. We sat outside and both went for the Vegan Fish & Chips. I was very excited to try it as it’s banana blossom-based and I’ve yet to try that. It lived fully up to my expectations – it was delicious!! Each plate contained a good portion of chunky chips, vegan tartare sauce, mushy peas and 2 large pieces of banana blossom ‘fish’. I was very impressed with the portion size and the food itself was just so good. The chips were lovely and chunky, the mushy peas were delicious and the banana blossom fish was incredible. The texture of the banana blossom was amazing, the taste was excellent and the crispy batter was sooo good. I was chatting to one of the staff after our meal about their vegan options and he was telling me about their vegan roast lunch and how they don’t have a Yorkshire pudding because they tried different ones and couldn’t find one that met the standard they wanted. I was really impressed as it clearly shows they put effort into creating proper vegan meals and not just slapping random substitutes onto the menu to satisfy vegans. So impressed with this place!
